    How would you answer this question: Are you successful?
    What thoughts immediately come to mind?
    The answer largely depends on how you define success in the first place.
    And that’s the crazy thing - success is such a fluid concept. It’s a moving target that isn’t clearly defined.
    It's like having to run a race with no clear and visible finish line. Or multiple finish lines depending on what lane you’re in. How confusing and frustrating!
    Without knowing where the clear finish line is you can't gage when you need to push harder or how to pace yourself.
    Maybe success to you is a certain level of financial achievement, like earning six figures, or building a passive income stream.
    Or perhaps it’s notoriety - being seen and viewed as having “made it”.
    While those can be good goals, I personally think they are hollow definitions of success.
    Today I have a better one for you - one that isn’t weak, nor is it a hard task master, demanding everything from you. It’s thoughtful, complete, and motivating.
    But first a little confession.

    For me the definition of success would be " to love the life that iam living daily, to be able to enrich people's lives in need, to know the purpose of my life and to have a healthy body,mind and soul". 🧿✨🙏

    Really intelligent stuff mate. Love the reference points. Makes me also think about the gym- when working out, you never get to that ‘task complete’ stage of working out because it doesn’t exist. Success in the gym is going and giving it your all, staying consistent and not giving up. You get closer and closer to an ideal but there isn’t a finish line. Love your thinking Graham

      "How do you evaluate success?" or "How do you define success?"
      The best approach to answering this question is to think of specific examples of your successes and explain to yourself the factors that contributed to your achievements.
      Success is looking back at your life, when you are in your final moments, and possessing a great amount of pride around your creations, accomplishments, and legacy, while possessing little to no regret about what you did not do and missed opportunities. If I can die feeling this way, I believe this is success.

    Hi Graham - I see your emails hit my inbox, and I click to watch with little expectation (an maybe even some apprehension) - but you do it everytime! Your message is powerful and spot on. A new insight, a new way to look at the world! I am still buying into your story, I haven't made the mental choice to follow your instructions - probably because I'm a little too comfortable, but I will keep clicking and hopefully one day, I'll listen and decide to follow what you've been saying all this time! Keep 'em coming - they are great messages!

    Loving these videos Graham! How do we know if "our thing" has value for other people?

      (I'm no Graham, but maybe this can help before he gets back to you). You can use social media to anonymously survey your demographic/psychographic to see if it's something they want, need or don't want to do themselves, and also how to develop it to better meet those needs and wants.... Graham does a good vid on (I'm paraphrasing) the tool of asking 'why' repeatedly to get to the root of the reason people will best respond to what you are offering (the insight). This is a good way to find out if your product/service has value and/or how to best market its value to meet those wants and needs. Cheers!!

    MY DEFINTION OF SUCCESS IS: LIVING THE SIMPLE LIFE.

  • @QuincyKane
    @QuincyKane 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm a creator; making music and movies is something I never get tired of. The reason I want to make a living in music is not for fame or riches, but just so I can have more time to do what I love and more time to experiment and try other things. So success for me is when I get to the point where I have to make music to make a living, so it's not a one-and-done deal, it's a continual process. Once I got my music business going, hopefully I can try out the movie business, haha.

    Graham, What do you think of this. "Success is a person living daily in his true purpose and design which is to have close fellowship and relationship with God. Through that relationship we experience true love and out of that overflow we are compelled to use our gifts and talents to fulfill God's purposes and to see his Kingdom brought forth on earth." So in a way its the progressive realisation of God's Dream for our life on earth. Any other direction outside of that becomes an epic meaningless fail because it leads to nowhere in the light of eternity and has no eternal value. So in a way also the question is what is God's definition of success for my life? Because our own definition of success can be twisted, self centered, and meaningless. And our standards keep changing so it's never enough but if we look to God's definition we finally have a gold standard that's achievable for the rest of our lives. I must say I struggle with trying to find the balance between worldly success and spiritual success. It's almost as if it's one or the other. What do you think Jesus meant when he said you can only serve God or money? Is he talking about our motives, our heart, our focus, while pursuing life and ministry?

    • @GrahamCochrane
      @GrahamCochrane  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Deep thoughts here - and I love it.
      As a Christian I totally agree, the purpose of my life is to love and enjoy God and follow his promptings and leadings to serve the world around me with the gifts, talents, and resources he's given me.
      The passage you reference is clearly talking about our hearts - whether they are bent towards serving God or serving money. I don't serve money. I serve God by MAKING a lot of money as I can use it to be a blessing to others.
      God has made me good at making money so I try my best to honor him with that.
      Is it still dangerous and tempting to be selfish and want to rely on money rather than God? You bet! But that's why I need Jesus to help me and guide me in my work and businesses each and every day.

    There is success to you and success in general,success to you might be acheiving a goal usually getting rich or fit,success in general to humanity in its pure form free from societies rules must be living to ure purpose...its all the journey with its uos and downs this is success that can be seen by all,but i personally beleive that success and purpose are GOD almighty when we know that we are nthg without GOD and live to gain grace and salvation this is THE success 🙏🏼
