Nice choice on bringing along a war dog Mike! I just knew you would need all the help you could get with a megadungeon...even if its four-legged (And you don't have to share treasure...just snacks). 👍🏼
Good Episode, as usually. Love the classic monsters. Nice touch with the special haunted zone bonus. Btw: Bone Doggo lives, has more HP, but dogs have to check if they understand their task (the command, each time, if I remember correctly...), such as attacking the right target. (and just as a funny home brew idea, dogs should get a bonus against skeletons, "bones vs. dogs" ;-P, your dog even is named "Bone", easy ruling just counter out that special haunted zone bonus OR a simple +1 to attack and damage) About Zombies [see Initiative: Always lose (no roll) you even show it in the video!]. Just for the future.
@@Scutifer_Mike Thanks!? Do you planning on seperate "down time episodes" or will it always be part of the general game play? I'm myself being in search of a good and simpler OSR domain building system. The part what happens after you got your stronghold(s), but not as micro management-y as some oDnD, I don't need a SIMs castle floor planner, more a how many subjects/peasants/merchants and soldiers/knights/mages/healers are in my domain population and what does it mean. Any recommendations from you?
Great stuff! Does DCC do surprise the same way as OD&D/AD&D, with a 2 being equivalent to two rounds of free action? Or did you treat segment 1 as the skeletons closing to melee range?
Out of interest, how come you rolled for disease? I believe you said it was the start of the month, with a 2% chance. Is that a homebrew thing or something else?
@@Antmanbrooks I’m using the AD&D rules. Once a month, got to check for diseases. We use the real world calendar to track our game world calendar. It’s called 1:1 time and I made a video about it if you are interested.
Fun adventure! Hey- have you ever thought of a “adventure recap” told as a story? Everyone says “gaming is storytelling “ but watching the “move by move” isn’t a story- it’s a slog. Maybe a recap told by the survivors (after the game is over and they are retelling the adventure- it would be an original concept- kind of “what happened vs what’s happening “ . Fans get the highlights but can refer back to the game play for more details- have fun!

The War Dog should give party a huge advantage on the die for being surprised......
I get that take, but there are no mechanical benefits granted from the dog aside from extra attacks for having them in the party.

@ we are getting close with some of our heroes. I’m considering the Expert rules.
@@Scutifer_Mike TSR 1012B Set 2 Expert Rules? Or which one?
@moritzlohmann8682 not sure yet. I’ll figure it out closer to level 9
Poor BONE getting boned by rolling the bones for the bones.
@@petegiant well said!
gearing up for my own solo play and getting pumped! RIP the fallen!
@@NoFunAllowed I will definitely be tuning in!
Bring along a war dog (or better yet a Giant Ferret or two) with your party. They are a life saver and you don't have to share treasure or XP 👍🏼
Round 2! Lets go!
@@Bargletheinfamous I had fun with this one!
@Scutifer_Mike Great play through! That ooze scene was great!
war dog has 2+2 hd, so should be rolling 2d8 + 2 my dude! Lets get that pup some more HP (if he's not dead yet)

@@elliotvernon7971 great question. We are playing OSE, and there are no segments like AD&D. So 1 or a 2 is only one surprise round
@@Scutifer_Mike My apologies - I get all the OSR variations jumbled up.
