  • Oven Convection Fan Fix. Fix that broken convection fan that doesn't spin and makes an audible hum as it tries to run. This fix is easy and straight forward that anyone can do. This is how to fix your oven if the fan is not turning.
    Stove doesn't power on? This might be the problem.

    I want to echo Eric Corvers comments EXACTLY! My samsung convection oven had the same fan motor issue and I followed your video to a t. Absolutely perfect video. Thank you very much!!!!

    Thank you so much Junk Man. This video was EXCELLENT!!!! You covered EXACTLY what I needed to do in order to fix my Samsung convection oven fan by replacing the motor. Bought the new motor on amazon and re-wired the connector just like you described. PERFECT! Keep up the great work.

    Our Jennair stove convection fan always goes on recently. Never did before while using conventional baking. We never used convection, but now the fan always kicks on. Why all the sudden this is happening? THUMBS UP!!!

    Great help with motor diagnosis. My motor wouldn't spin freely, but after removing motor I noticed the two bearing were dry but there was no damage yet to bearings. Each of the bearings had a hole in bearing shields showing felt for lubrication. A little oil in each hole and we are cooking again. Fan spins like new, oven heat up time back to normal.

    • @ericpircher
      @ericpircher 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this is my first thought here too -- these convection fans usually seize up because the bearings dry out. Re-lubrication should fix that. My other thought re the plug issue that happened in this video: my first instinct would have been to carefully remove the plug housing from the old fan and slip it onto the prongs of the new fan.

    • @crossover8634
      @crossover8634 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you have the motor off to lubricant the bearings?

    • @renelajzerowicz6191
      @renelajzerowicz6191 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was the issue for my Samsung Duo. The fan was making a horrible sound, and hadn't seized yet. Took the fan apart, cleaned everything and applied 3 in 1 oil to the felt pads. Fixed the issue and running fine again (I think Samsung forgot to apply oil to the felt when assembling). $7 bottle of oil and a couple of hours of taking it apart and putting it back together again without buying a new fan motor. Thanks!

    Thanks for taking the time to make this video 😎👍 Do you know if by switching the wire locations on the motor would it matter,? Just want to know if you think the motor would reverse rotation if the wires were not put on the same terminals ? , not even sure if it’s possible.?

    if fan doesn't work AND oven doesn't get warm either, does fixing the fan solve both problems? If not, can you direct me to how to fix the heating elements?

    • @thejunkman
      @thejunkman  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the fan is a separate issue, however the heating elements are right there and just un-bolt.

    We check the fan motor with the Ohm meter and it read ok. Sure it is motor?

    • @thejunkman
      @thejunkman  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It could be the board not sending a signal to the motor, but that is easily checked with a volt meter.

    Why does this model have 3 fans? what is the advantage of that? Is it just air flow?

    • @thejunkman
      @thejunkman  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it all has to do with air flow that's how a convection oven works

    I have the same oven., when turned on fan starts working for a few minutes, than shuts down and then will not come back on., help

    • @thejunkman
      @thejunkman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be the same problem as seen here except your fans run long enough to then thermally shut down.

    • @drobca1
      @drobca1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is there a temperature sensor shutting fan down or is this fan running all the time while oven is on

    • @thejunkman
      @thejunkman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. There is a thermal switch on the back of the oven. It is there as also a safety for if the oven gets over a certain temp it trips and needs reset. However it wears out over time, especially if you use the self cleaning option a lot.

    • @drobca1
      @drobca1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I am uncertain what my problem is, fan or sensor.
      Would you have a part number for fan, possibly for both?
      Thanks

    • @thejunkman
      @thejunkman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I would not, or not handy. I use a site called RepairClinic to find my part numbers, then search the internet for the best price. I am not affiliated with that site in any way though.

    No "commontator" in that motor. Motors with comutators have brushes and will run on either AC or DC. That shaded pole induction motor will run on AC only.
