well, let's be open minded here. The officer(s) he spoke with would have to operate a computer, or make some calls, or investigate and that would be extremely difficult if not impossible to figure out, let alone take time, energy, and is just boring! So yeah, unless there is a license plate number to type into a machine, you're immune!

@@MetalAsForkYes, but occasionally you will be driving and the roads and wet, but not slick and the temperature drops 1/2 of a degree and suddenly it's icy. If you've been driving 300 miles in almost icy conditions it can catch you off guard as it looks the same as the damp road you've been on for the last 5 hours. I guess you just haven't driven enough to experience the exact moment the damp road becomes icy.

The road was not slick at all, the bridges were not slick at all, and I drove for over 6 hours while periodically checking my outside temperature gauge. As the day progressed, the temperature was slowly dropping. At about the 6 hour mark the road went from not slick at all to an ice skating rink instantly. My outside temperature gauge read 34 degrees for the previous 2 hours before that. I suppose you would be driving 35 mph on the damp road for two hours, since that is what you are suggesting. Appeal to your 2M miles all you want, that doesn't make you correct, or make you immune from being the cueball in an interstate pileup. If it's wet/foggy/drizzly and near-freezing, slow down, and then prepare to REALLY slow down again. It's not complicated... Or at least it ought not be.

I think three times, I had people tell me they were gonna "have my job". One was when I was working night security at a college dormitory. All I had to do was walk the grounds once each hour, outside, inside, and along every publicly accessible stairwell and hallway. Oh, and keep the boys from trying to sneak into the girls' rooms. NOBODY gets past me into the residence area, and I don't care if they ARE only paying me minimum wage.
Another time was when I was working at a 7-Eleven and somebody wanted to buy booze after last-call, which was 2 am in that state. Back then, the state law for violations were pretty harsh, and as a college kid just working a summer job, I didn't want legal troubles too. My reply was "You want my job? Would you like me to give you my manager's phone number? She'll start by having you scrape gum off the parking lot, clean the toilets, and mop up that nasty goopy stuff that grows underneath the Slurpee machine. If you can handle that, she'll have you wash all the trash cans and the outside of the dumpster in the back WITHOUT a pressure washer. Then you can probably run the cash register in about 6 months when I graduate with my degree and leave to start my new job in IT."
And the third time was when one of our IT people wanted me to make a 6 PM change to a production application without proper change control and without proper audit documentation. I said "no", because all approvers were already gone for the day, and he threatened my job. This is a developer who threatened my job! Then his MANAGER called me and threatened my job all over again. Finally, I called my manager at home and asked him if I can start leaving the office at 4:30 like everybody else, because working late for no extra pay to get caught up was starting to put my job at risk. He asked me how that could be, so I explained the situation to him. After that, for the whole time I worked there, NOBODY from the development team ever again asked me to rush a change through without proper documentation and approvals. I later found out why. My manager called the other manager and said that I had passed his "test", and now it was time for the other manager and all of his direct reports to "lay the eff off" of me. I passed his test because I proved that I wouldn't budge and would not even give in to pressure from a senior leader to do something sketchy, and I probably saved the company several hundred thousand dollars from avoiding an audit violation, after which EVERYBODY involved would have gotten their asses fired. I mean "hard fired", not just "laid off with no option to return".

I never heard about this driving disorder called "brake checking" until I started watching these videos. Never done this nonsense in my entire life, as it feels very low IQ and child like to brake check someone while doing something as dangerous as driving... yikes

It's certainly illegal in the US and many other countries. Dangerous driving, obstructing traffic, or some sort of harassment. But something being illegal and people being actively pursued for misbehaving are two different pairs of shoes. If it was enforced more, people would probably brake check a lot less. It's like running a red light here in Germany, which seems to have become some sort of sport. Very dangerous and it could ground you for a month if you get caught. But police presence in traffic is scarce and thus you see it happen on almost every traffic light.

Well, I have to admit to shifting into low gear when a cop who was late for shift change decided to ride so close to the back of my car that I could see his headlights, forget about his license plate. I did slow down carefully and slowly so as not to require that he slam on his brakes. I just slowed down keeping to the right as far as I could (no shoulder on that particular stretch of road, only curb and gutter). As he passed me, I did quickly get his license plate number, the vehicle number on the fender, and a third number printed on the back next to the license plate. the I followed him back to the station (which was/is right across the street from the parking garage I am assigned to use ..... government employee I was). I watched him exit his vehicle and sprint across the parking lot with hat in hand while fumbling with his clipboard and a pile of paperwork. When I got to my desk I called the station, asked to speak to the shift commander, reported the numbers and the incident of tailgating ...... the excuse I was given "he was late for shift change", to which I responded, "you know how much I don't want to hear excuses like that? he was not responding to a call for an emergency situation, no lights, no sirens, exceeding the speed limit, tailgating to the extent that I couldn't see his headlights, etc." Don't know what happened (probably nothing). I was tempted to report the situation to the newly appointed chief of police that this was the driving habit of at least one office when he was late for shift change (don't know if he was coming off shift or it was the start of his shift ..... not that is should make any difference. Never got a call back from the shift commander or any one else. But, I do hope someone had a conversation with him about the tailgating.

I totally agree with that gentleman’s perspective: if someone is blocking emergency services by driving in the opposite lane, they should have their license removed immediately. Instant karma for causing road rage in such a dangerous way.

I've been stuck behind two trucks road blocking and matching speed but I don't see this at all in these videos which would be a legitimate reason to get mad. Its like putting your head in a hippo, lion, or crocodile's mouth and saying I have rights, it wont hurt me.

It should be a law throughout the U.S. if you brake check a hauler, it'll be legal for them to hit yo dumb a**, with the party responsible for all damages and w/an indefinite suspended license. And for all those who drive these trucks and put others lives in danger, Same.

That truck driver earned that. He came up on that car (who was in the farthest slow lane) and drove right up on them, AND flashed his brights at the car. There was NOBODY else around, the big rig could've easily went around the car (which is the CORRECT thing to do since the car is in the slow lane) but he chose to play games. Now he's trying to play victim. So I say he earned that shit. 🤣

Every state should have a department, where motorists and truck drivers can send in videos of idiots pulling stupid and dangerous stunts. (Disabled drivers, who have good driving records can man this department). The offender should be heavily fined, with a percentage of that money going to the offendee! In the case of smoked license plate cover or stolen plate, when found, the vehicle is crushed, and that money split between the state of dashcam owner. I bet a lot of this crap would stop. After all, with stop light cameras in Philly, the city, the cops and camera company split the money received from the fines.

One thing that videos like these shows, many people think that being able to operate / drive a car is all there is to obtaining a license. They don't understand that there's plenty more to that, like rules of the road, driver courtesy, driver safety and defensive driving is required. They used to offer Driver Education in high schools, but not anymore, and it shows.

Not saying they’re in the right or wrong considering when the video starts, only giving the benefit of doubt here:
Based on when the video starts, it’s ‘possible’ that the cammer just finished passing someone while the black car was behind them, and cut over quickly because they didn’t think the cammer passed/got over quickly enough in order to rage.

In Virginia aggressive driving and that includes tailgating is a class 2 misdemeanor punishable with 6 months in jail and $1,000.00 fine, then if you get out of your car to threaten someone it is bumped up to road rage and a class 1 misdemeanor punishable with 12 months in jail and $2,500.00 fine.

That last one (and multiple other BRAKE check clips) I am a company driver and we do not carry dashcams, but you cut me off and brake check me at 80k lbs, you're getting slammed. Try me. I had some idiot woman driver with NJ plates ride in the passing lane up a hill on I-80W around the 100 miles marker in the rain try to beake check me, run me off the road, and brake check me while I was empty and then she took off. I caught up with her later as she was riding another truck's rear and she had the nerve to flip me off. I slowed down and swerved at her just to scare her (because she scared the hell out of me with her brake checks in the rain) and she rode my rear for MILES and refused to pass me until I took an exit just to get away from her. That's what I'm saying, hardly anyone has respect for the trucks that deliver your goods anymore. I rarely have to deal with asshats like those people anymore, but you never know when one of those worthless people are going to rear their head.
