You could see the change in Maxine’s eyes just before the ‘bye’ - I think I’d be scared too. I think Bazza’s reaction should’ve been the thumbnail lol.
Omg...we really feel for you, difficult situation all round...hope Max is okay, sooooo... stressful...cheeky neighbours using your skip. Slow progress with the workmen working part time. I know it's the only thing you can think of right now, but visualise it all finished and straight. Then you can relax and look forward to your very well deserved holiday, lock the front door behind you and head for the airport. All our very best wishes.
Really enjoying these vlogs about the house. I think Mrs Bazza will have to concede that her wallpaper is going to get damaged with that amount of work going on. I’m quite surprised it still looks as good as it does. Builders eh, who’d av em!
You guys must be so stressed. Home improvements are such an anxious time! Be kind to yourselves! Hoping this week is a good one and they get lots done! It’ll be worth it
Oh dear. I would be in tears. Hopefully that's the last of the problems now and the guys can crack on and have your place looking stunning soon. Stay strong guys
Looking at what you have shown it dosnt look to bad once you fill the cracks and the new floor you will be on the home straight, you have to remove all the traces of the pillars otherwise you will regret it keep safe Andy and Vonnie
Urghh... I feel for you guys. Maxines face said it all. On the upside, all good with the eyes! That's a win. You gotta take 'em when you get 'em right? Hope these guys pull up their socks & get done what they've been paid to do. xXx
The stress of renovating is real. The 4 concertina marks on the concrete floor in the family room could be from paint spraying internal doors. They stand them upright in that formation so they can spray all the visible bits. That was a very lucky catch with your retina Barry. I went through a vitrectomy last August for vitreomacular traction. I got very attached to my friend the gas bubble 🤣😂.
Oh Maxine. I feel your pain. I would have been crying. I wallpapered our hall and two weeks later my husband threw a pot of woodsman everywhere.... he cleaned it up but it stained I couldn't replace the wallpaper with matching and it's been that way ever since I look at it ever6 day and growl...
I guess no matter where you go in the US some opportunists will take advantange of other people's dumpsters. I was adding 1,200 square feet on to my house in California and had a large dumpster on the street in front of my house and somebody put huge rolls of old carpeting inside of it. Luckily there was room for it. Some people have a lot of gaul.
aye up guys, really feel your disappointment with these contractors, you probably feel that you could of done a better job, especially not leaving the house unsecured that’s just plain job and scarper ,now back to the Reno I wouldn’t worry too much about the pillars they can be finished off at a later date and they could be shaped properly,as for the floor I don’t think there’s any pipe work in the Floor,it’s probably in the wall’s it would be interesting to see if there is any pipe work in those areas where the wet spots were originally found,it’s a shame you didn’t see it in a wet state and not just damp patches as damp can appear away from the source, you say you have turned the water off I would turn it back on at this stage if obviously the down stairs outlets can be isolated and then check for leaks then you can exclude internal pipes, you’ve got to keep Maxine,s disapproval for when your inline at the Disney parks those pesky queue breakers classic No,but onwards and upwards it will be great in the end,if not us brits will put it write❤
I’ve considered photographing the number plate of a neighbouring car before as some people’s cars are very worrying to see. In all fairness to them, somebody else could be responsible for the damage and you’re likely to never know either way. You mentioned the Wi-Fi garage door opener in the previous vlog and I looked to see if you filmed it’s installation in the vlog that you refer to but it doesn’t make an appearance. It peaked my curiosity as it’s an idea that I like very much. Do you also have HomeLink in your cars?
Thanks for showing your home renovation update. I hope the contractors get these issues sorted out soon. Removing the posts was a great idea and I cracks in the floor I hope aren’t too serious.
I feel bad for you guys taking on this project with a downturn in the economy and potential recession looming. Your house was fine? I would have just painted the kitchen cabinets the color you wanted and applied hardware? The floors were fine and liked the color. Hopefully things will go well and enjoy watching your story and thanks for sharing. Prayers for you guys!
The house was an ex- rental. The cabinets were not good. Things were broken , did not shut, had water damage inside. We did consider repainting but that’s the reason why. We tried vinyl but it warped so we needed to fix the floor
Really feel for Max. Its going to be tough being alone for a week with the stresses and strain. How about using the ceiling post restraints to hang plants from, preferably even fake ones there are gorgeous ones nowadays even put pretty lights in them or hanging lanterns...I don't like seeing Max so down but I would be exactly the same. Onwards n upwards it's always the darkest just before the dawn. Bazza you are doing a good job keeping on top of it all. I can't wait to see it on another month's time! 🙂
Well I was surprised you had to get all that tiling stuff yourself, is there no dedicated tile shops out there you would have been better off better help etc. As a tiler myself we get fairly decent discounts on adhesive grout and even more so the trim. Hope you get everything sorted failing that I'm out in April I will do it for you 😂
I almost feel sad liking the video as your having problems. I love your choice in tiles. Your poor house looks like an abandoned house that’s been vandalised with the floors all broken up (near start of video)It’s going to look amazing when it’s all finished. Removing those posts will make a major difference as long as they square off at the top of the arches to make it look right.
In 12 months time you'll look back on this experience and have a Chuckle, thanks for letting us all experience the pain and anguish you're going through, my blood pressure would be through the roof, actually had my eyes checked like Max last week, diabetic screening, luckily no sunglasses required in Feb here
omg, what a mess. it took us two weeks for the roofer to come for an estimate. One story house 4,000 sq foot 28,000. I hate Florida. We still don't have home owners insurance. After the new roof we might get the worst rated company to insure us. We had foundation cracks but not like you have.
Serious question, if you were that worried about the car next to you.. why wouldn't you just park in one of the many empty spots behind where you were parked?
I’m sorry about all the bumps during your Reno! For the tiles/backsplash, I’ve seen some DIYers use this adhesive roll for their tiles that is cleaner to use than quickset for walls. I’m not sure if it is appropriate for your specific application, but it may be another option!
Bless you both. Such a stressful and upsetting situation you're having. We're sure with the new guttering in place and a layer of new concrete on that floor you'll be reet!! It's frustrating not having the workforce on site when they should be. Similar situations are happening over here too. Be strong, it will get sorted and look fabulous once it's all finished. How about another party in the kitchen with some miming to music on completion!!! In the meantime crack open a beer and relax.
Hiya 🤗 renovations are never easy but hopefully onwards and upwards from here 🤞🏽That wasn’t good that they left your home unsecure that day 🙈 I look forward to seeing it all come together though, it will be great once it’s all done. Take care xxx
I’m with you Maxine, I’d be happy when it’s finished! It doesn’t matter where you are in the world, building contractors always need a firecracker up the backside and the constant chasing, chasing, chasing is so tiring. You’ve been very calm about it all and sure it will be lovely when it’s all done. Very interesting following the progress 🤗🤗
Stripping back reveals all which is most annoying to say the least ! but when finished it will look amazing and you’ll know that there will be no more hidden horrors 👍♥️
I would give Maxine 10/10 for not finding the builders and giving them hell. I feel sure she will keep a close eye on the builders while Mr Bazza is away and I wouldn't blame her. Good luck x
At the beginning of this, I was thinking, 'these two are fab - even in a crisis they are calm. What amazing role models!' Then, Maxine cracked (forgive the pun) which is entirely normal... Although, we do all know how this will end - an amazing renovation and it will look stunning. You got this! In terms of the fly tipping, just goes to show that even in the most magical state on this earth, people are selfish, ignorant gits!
Why do your contractors have you going to stores trying to figure out the right materials for projects? They should be taking care of all of this. Or, if you're doing this because you prefer to buy the materials yourself to save money, they should be able to give you a very detailed list of what to pick up. So frustrating I'm sure!
I admire your British stiff upper lip. I would be spouting profanities and then collapse sobbing in a heap. Hoping its all smooth sailing now for you guys. Cheers
How annoying! Spending a few hours a day then leaving your house unlocked and I can see why you are not happy the way they have left the pillow removed. Surely they can cut it shorter than that in a way that it will not damage the ceiling?!
Gosh guys!!!!! The house is an absolute building city 😬 I hope things are moving along ok. Not locking up is so bad!! They don’t sound like the best company 😬 Poor Max 🥹 I would be the same. All be worth it xxx
