Thanks for sharing your hard work. It's a lovely to go along on your adventures with you. Church lock looked beautiful. Was that still a church or a private residence now?
Hi👋, glad you enjoyed watching! Pat was a CBer for many years prior taking his Amateur License. His new channel is now on line and can be found at Ham Radio Afloat. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊
Hi Pat. I knew you was a ham radio person from when you had that lovely permanent mooring. Needless to say I was interested to see that I was not the only one. I don't run a long wire but just atas 20a for hf. I use a yaesu ft-700, for tunning the antenna as this allows me to get down 80 mtr as well as the 60 mtr bands which the yaesu ft-710 field can't tune with the atu atas settings in the radio. Will look forward to your new channel regarding ham radio and participating with further on that one. Take care and keep safe... 😊🍻🍻
Hi many thanks for the comments. Yes, the long wire was a success. You can get a in-line device basically a switch which you used to the A2 in a manual way. It’s an MFJ device which I have as well and then you can use any radio and tune it manually by raising and lowering the antenna manually. Welcome to the channel hope to do more in the future. Pat.
I understand completely Eileen I to cannot do along walk with two deterating knee caps. Thankfully I can still use my legs but fast no more slow pace it is
Aww, sorry to hear that Lynda, our friend has had both her knees replaced and it was a tough recovery but pleased she had them done! Pat can still do about 3-4 miles but that’s appears to be his maximum. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊

The Ham test is now broken into 3 sections and is a multiple choice on line test, for which you are able to use the booklet as reference. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊
I’ve wondered if there were any amateur radio operators on narrow boats. Is this very common in your experience? Do you display your call sign on the exterior of your boat? I’ll look for your second channel when it’s up. VA7IZ 73s
Hi👋, Pat here, I don’t display my call sign on the boat. Also although it’s not common, we have met at least 2 over the last 6 years on our travels. There is also an Inland Waterways contest, held every year at the end of August, so there must be quite a few out there! Thanks for watching and commenting!
