I like your analisis of this song and have to compliment you about your musicality and very good ears, really impressive how quick you break down all the parts in this song. If I may have a little point of citisism; a lot of people like to hear the solo's unbroken and it would be nice if you first listen a certain part of the song and then go back to break it down into the parts you want to analyze. That would be a bit nicer for the listeners.

Awesome breakdown and analysis of a masterpiece from Lovebites ! This track showcases just how versatile and talented these ladies are. Personally, the lyrics are open to interpretation. There are 2 main schools of thought - (1) Asami wanted a sad winter ballad for their third album, "Electric Pentagram", or (2) the song is about a nuclear winter. Either way, Asami co-composed and wrote the lyrics for this song.

    • @PaleHorseShabuShabu

Any clue where the nuclear winter theory comes from?

@@PaleHorseShabuShabu It was mentioned in an article that was written by a music reviewer from a UK magazine called the midlands rock. He was reviewing "Electric Pentagram" back in 2020.

@@PaleHorseShabuShabu I know the sad winter ballad theory was attributed to Asami, but I can't find an actual quote from her in any article. Do you know of one where she was directly quoted ? If so, that would certainly answer the question definitively.

This song is about how the destructive consonances of Lowbuts drove most of the world's population insane and made them cultists, thus pushing the world towards catastrophe. It also says that after the collapse, the disgusting vocals of the Queen of Fake Notes were spread all over the planet. Not a song, but a cultist's dream!!!

LOVEBITES - A Frozen Serenade lyrics:
Crystal tears Falling from the skies
    Veiling fears The emptiness inside
    Time is just passing by
Killing me under the soft twilight
    A frozen melody
Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy
    A distant memory
If only this snow could erase the pain
I'd wake up in a serenade
    One life ends
    And one life begins
    Evanesce
    To our origins
When I'm lost on my way
Lead my heart and guide me with your grace
    A frozen melody
Of doves and ravens dancing in melancholy
    A distant memory
If only this snow could erase the pain
I'd wake up in a serenade
Just like a dream, just like a bird
    I'll keep on singing out
Even if my voice cannot reach you
Seasons may pass, but its beauty will never fade away
All living things are precious and irreplaceable
Just like a dream, just like a bird
    I'll keep on singing out
Even if my voice cannot reach you
White butterflies are fluttering under the silver sky
If only I could wish to see you once more

This mega masterpiece it is my favorite song of LADIES.
LOVEBITES. They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans.
They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM,
heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal, hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. They mix all with classical music using operatic, R&B, soul and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano and Spanish guitar skills playing. Sometimes they use typical Japanese melodic lines which are included in ENKAs_ melancholy ballads singing by Japanese women. Only their can do it. Obviously they draw a lot from British, German and American metal. All this makes their style unique.
🐺🤘LOVEBITES 🤘🐺 the team of five thrashpower metal goddesses from Japan_Tokyo.
"We're not here to be cute, we're here to be heavy"

Eclecticism def._In art, literature, philosophy or scientific research: combining into one whole heterogeneous elements originating from different styles or doctrines»
      Queen_band
Queen is also a combination of various musical genres. The band, which was formed in 1970 on the initiative of Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor, combined rock, funk and pop. Their sound is very diverse, making it difficult to describe it in one word. The musicians created multi-layered arrangements combined with vocal harmonies. In 2001, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2007 they were recognized as the best British band of all time according to BBC Radio 2. Their most interesting song is definitely "Bohemian Rhapsody"= Lovebites "Edge Of The World", "Frozen Serenade", or "Swan Song".
The same makes Lovebites but they go deeper, they in the manner uncompromising and even shameless combine metal with classical music not only rock. Especialy that is visible in suche songs like Swan Song, Frozen Serenade, Edge Of The World, Lost In Garden, Today Is The Day, Dystophia Symphony or even anthem of Lovebites and Wolfpack_We The United. There song with elements of heavy thrash, power meta. Raise Some Hell it is simply Rock n Roll and Inspire and Dancing With The Devil heavy metal, hard rock and A&B. One can write about it endless. Stay Safe. Stay Lovebites. The next song I suggest Epilogue _ballad Tokyo Live 2019.

Greetings Nina & thank you for attention to LOVEBITES. I have read most if not all comments, many complimentary, some not-so-much ... As one who is quite familiar with LOVEBITES' music and as drummer/guitarist, singer/songwriter, it is their compositions & arrangements that stand with their exceptional musicianship/performances that keeps me interested.
In that context it is their myriad of 'transitions' throughout songs that fascinate & impress me. The detail/precision & drummer Haruna's unique (in my experience) use of quick-decay-cymbals mimicking/supporting the chords & vocal melody was being totally 'lost' in your method of tiny-segments "breakdown" of this complex musical piece.
I support the idea suggested by another of listening in extended segments and backup after pause to retain the continuity/transitions, or to go back fully for that segment & "breakdown" on second pass. I admit I only made it to about 5 minutes in your video due to your method, focusing strongly on notes & chords, but that obscured, if not obliterated, those 'transitions' I find so important. It takes so much work to perfect such arrangements and is so demanding in precision-execution in LIVE-performance, I was disappointed.
Although I am familiar with this song, I cannot imagine that anyone who is not familiar with it (including you) will get a grasp of what LOVEBITES intends to convey as a listening/viewing experience of this song's composition, arrangement & performance for their audience.

Thank you for trying to convey this information to Nina. I wouldn't have the patience for that. I also couldn’t watch this reaction in full. Maximum 7-8 minutes.
In addition, I got the impression (I could be wrong) that Nina has only commercial purposes.
It is possible that she is not interested in comments from viewers (the paradox is the lack of feedback from the viewers, which is very necessary for commercial success)...Therefore there are no answers.
The large number of subscribers on this channel does not result in a large number of views on it (proportional to 236,000 subscribers). Based on my personal experience, I think that Nina will not delve too deeply into the discography of LOVEBITES. Perhaps she will still respond to one or more songs if they are ordered on "Pat.."
I got the impression that for Nina LOVEBITES is one of the many bands and artists with which she wants to increase the number of subscribers. I don't blame her for this. This is just my opinion.

Great analysis of an insanely talented band. Miyako and her classical piano training really influences all of their compositions. Asami writes most of the lyrics and Miyako does most of the composition and arrangements. She is a real savant with theory and messing influences into their songs. She decided at 18 to self teach guitar and go into metal that she feels is a true cousin of classic music. BTW if you want her piano skills on full display her piano LP with reworked metal songs is just sensational. I recommend Eagle Fly Free by Helloween th-cam.com/video/-h3BLRs0Xr4/w-d-xo.html she takes real metal classics and makes them classic piano pieces, just amazing. Her genius brain may come up with these great compositions but she needs her insanely talented band-mates to be able to play them especially LIVE!!!!

@susan, I always appreciate your enthusiasm for LOVEBITES & appropriate comments.
I do want to bring your attention to "A Frozen Serenade" being written by Asami (lyrics) & Asami/Mao (music) who have written a significant % of LOVEBITES songs. Miyako is awesome, however, she writes music (no lyrics) for about half of their songs. Until her withdrawal, Miho wrote one-third of songs, all lyrics for those & music with Mao.
I just want to see these wonderful songs 'credited' appropriately. The lyrics posts by whirled_peace have the lyric/music credits at the bottom & I have found them to be accurate. No offense intended.

Appreciate your detailed and precise analysis. Yes, this is a good and complicated song that has lots of well written pieces. I think it is the guitarist Miyako that has written this one. Wow Nina! What do I have to do to convince you to do a deep dive like that into a few more Lovebites songs? Name it! That would be amazing! That you for that! I found Lovebites not long after discovering Nightwish (a favorite to be sure), and Lovebites quickly became my favorite band. That was a wonderful reaction and analysis and I would love to see that for a few more. Your ability to translate anything to piano on the fly, or replicate something in voice, and hear pretty much everything going on is a real treasure. I appreciate it being applied here. They can go really heavy too, but I think for what you like I would suggest the three "E" songs, masterpieces all (Edge of the World, Empty Daydream, Epilogue), from their 2019 and 2020 performances. All with piano and multiple parts. I love Empty Daydream, but that's more of a standard song with backing vocals (which are great). All three have standout parts. I'm glad you found Lovebites and look forward to more!

Thank you for checking out and reviewing this. It is interesting, you started your Lovebites journey off with two of the songs most frequently referred to as masterpieces. How many true masterpieces are there in the history of rock? A dozen? Maybe twenty, max? I’m not talking about merely great songs. There may be a few hundred of those (out of millions of songs). A masterpiece is much more. It combines beautiful composition with brilliant execution. It tells a story, taking you through a range of emotions until it overwhelms you. For classical music fans, the iconic example is Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. The best example of something shorter and more comparable to a rock song, might be Ravel’s “Bolero”. Among actual rock songs, I would name “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles; “The End” by the Doors; “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen; “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin; “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes; “The Great Gig in the Sky” by Clare Torrey and Pink Floyd; “Starless” by King Crimson; and “Ghost Love Score” by Nightwish. Importantly. Many of the greatest rock groups never produced a masterpiece. Lovebites, in five short years, have given us several, and I think this rivals “Swan Song” as their greatest. Thank you again for featuring it.

Great reaction. Many good observations and love how you break down the song musically. The lyrics are some of the best written. More like Joan Baez. This was from Electric Pentagram which was a winter release. Asami wanted a sad winter song with some acoustic guitar in it. She wrote a classis. Mao Yamamoto (Lightbringer) helps Asami compose songs.
The song is definitely about having lost a loved one and missing them. About always speaking to them as a way to handle the grief. I think you were spot on.

I understand that every Reactor can do what he wants and how he wants on his channel. Over the course of 3.5 years, I saw many musicians, vocal teachers, opera singers, producers, etc. analyze LOVEBITES songs. As a rule, they carried out the analysis after checking the song. Or they took a few pauses (not many) while checking the song. A song is a whole piece of music. A song is not separate fragments that are torn from each other.
I couldn't watch this reaction to the end. And I think I'm not alone. Please note that this Reactor, with 236,000 subscribers, has catastrophically few views under reactions (for such a huge number of subscribers). This says a lot. Although this is no longer my business. I wish good luck to this Reactor and this channel.

As Lovebites fan, to me the bigger question one should as oneself is this: Is my comment a turn-off to reactors/reviewers to further engage with this band? This has been an issue for many reactors who I've reached out to, who shy away from Lovebites because of being scolded or lectured to. Do you think the Lovebites members would complain? This band needs and deserves all the exposure it can get. So for me, it is not about what I like or prefer. It's more like: what will benefit this exceptional band? My answer is that such analysis by such an experienced musician - with so many subscribers - can only benefit Lovebites.

Hi Nina, this reaction video has stirred up the attention of a malicious troll, and I feel it's imperative for you to be informed of the intricate details surrounding this issue.
Firstly, the individual in question, a SINGLE troll, possesses a disconcerting history, having faced bans/blocks from 24 other reaction channels due to his disruptive behavior. His modus operandi involves the creation of numerous trolling YT accounts, meticulously crafted with the singular purpose of sowing chaos and confusion within online communities.
This troll's focus isn't restricted merely to your channel; it extends to the Lovebites fanbase, encompassing the band itself, its devoted fans, and fellow reactors on TH-cam. His malicious actions serve to disrupt the harmony of discussions and foster discord among the community.
Within the pinned comment section of your video, there exists four active trolling accounts. I know the user names of these four trolls. It's actually pretty obvious what they are. If you want me to give you a hint of who they are, let me know. Note that 3 of those accounts are "against" you as a reactor, and one of them pretends to "support" you.
The disconcerting aspect lies in the deceptive interactions among these accounts within your pinned comment. Engaging in fabricated conversations and launching attacks against each other, their objective is to instigate confusion and chaos within the Lovebites fanbase.
Furthermore, two additional trolling accounts have popped up in here that are recognized by the Lovebites community for their consistent efforts to terrorize reactions related to the band and they're "against" you. These accounts have appeared in the main body of your comments section as well as other comment threads. If you peruse through your entire comments section, it's also pretty obvious who they are.
Recently, a new trolling account has also emerged. In a similar vein to previous instances, this account (who pretends to "support" you) participates in deceptive conversations and attacks, exacerbating the prevailing confusion and chaos.
Again, let me know if you want a hint as to the identities of the last three trolling accounts (altogether seven trolling accounts so far).
Therefore, I want to stress that you shouldn't worry about some of the negative posts, especially those in your pinned comment, because they're the work of a SINGLE vile troll with multiple trolling accounts. The decision regarding how to address this infiltration rests with you.

I have serious doubts ! Can such a superficial analysis fathom the multiple interpretation levels of such a masterpiece of metal music - which is able to generate deep emotions for anyone to enjoy ?
What's the hidden secret beyond the view of each intellectual analysis ?
Maybe the presentation of five interacting souls, expressing their feelings by voice modulation, micro-mimic expression, ballet movements, illumination reinforcements and so on, which is unexpectedly surprising and capturing . . .
    Switch off the neo-cortex.. . . . let your soul enjoy . . . .

Or maybe let her react however she wants to react? I swear LOVEBITES fans are the worst.

@@evilvolts Same, I’m happy she’s taking a listen to this song, but this meandering nonsense from the op is obnoxious, and I can’t imagine it makes reactors want to return to the band when other fandoms are grateful for the exposure and analysis. Plus, would LOVEBITES want us griping at these reactors? I don’t pretend to know the band members, but I highly doubt it.

@@PaleHorseShabuShabu You are so delighted with this reaction that you do not want to see the objective shortcomings in this version of the analysis. When only short parts are considered separately, then perhaps such an analysis is good. For example, in order to learn the parts (chords, notes) and make your own cover of this song.
But if you just check a live performance (video) of a song unfamiliar to you, then this option is not the best.
Before breaking a song into a large number of parts, it would be good to listen to it in its entirety. At least once. And it is advisable to pay no less attention to what is happening on stage at this time (video). With the type of analysis that Nina used, the integrity of the musical pattern was almost completely lost. Much of the song's emotional content was also lost. Haven't you noticed this? Due to the fact that Nina tore A Frozen Serenade into a huge number of small parts ("broke" the song), for example, many nuances of Haruna's magnificent playing remained "unnoticed".
@dregeye, wrote about this very well and professionally in his comment.
Because of the pauses, the effect from Miyako's piano & Midori's acoustic guitar is almost completely neutralized. Haven't you noticed this? Miyako's piano & Midori's acoustic guitar & Asami's dance is one of the most key in this song, the cherry on the cake!
Due to the large number of pauses, the visual effects that are noticeable when you watch the entire video without pauses are almost completely lost. Haven't you noticed that too?
You attack those who have expressed doubt that this form of reaction is ideal to fully appreciate A Frozen Serenade (as a masterpiece!) and do not pay attention to the fact that many nuances have escaped the attention of the reactor.
I watched this reaction carefully 2 times. During the second viewing, out of curiosity, I decided to count the number of pauses, as well as interruptions of the song and rollback a few seconds back. This happened 35 times. The duration of the song is 6 minutes 47 seconds. It turns out that on average the song was interrupted every 11-12 seconds.

@@mamoru1412 I’m not reading all of that. But yeah, I liked the analysis because I’m a musician and I like seeing other musicians doing musical things. This reaction qualifies.
