This type of performance is one of my favorite varieties of step-dancing. No music, JUST the dancers and the beat. It's truly surprising how many different sounds these performers can make just with tap shoes.
This was amazing! I love everything about step-dancing and have a huge amount of respect for the dancers. I'd get my feet tangled up and fall on my face to be sure!
Say what you will about whether or not you like Flatley, you have to admit that this is an amazing acappella piece. The man does understand how to make rhythms work.
How can people say he's losing his touch?! He is still The Lord of the dance, he can still dance amazingly well and that's incredible for his age. He is now 55 years of age so he is obviously not going to be able to keep up with the other dancers who are probably all 20-something's
This is wonderful one of the best I seen all of you do . Love. Love this. Great job. Love to all. Like I said before I love that sound of all thoes taps. Take care all.💖💖
hey Ridge. They use a tap track, which is basically pre-recorded taps played thorugh the speaker system. The floor they dance on is made of a special material that doesnt make any noise, so the actual taps of thier shoes wont sound out of sync with the prerecorded tap track. all the touring shows like CT, LOTD and Riverdance use them. Hope this answers your question!
@Flibla trust me.... they use a tap track for massive shows like this. It doesnt take anything away from the show itself, but they indeed are prerecorded. Ask anyone who knows the behind the scenes of shows like this, and they will tell you.
LOL does he have a permanent show in vegas yet?? i love how utterly cheesy he is and he embraces it. like he seriously chose the name CELTIC TIGER lmao
The Romans never technically occupied Ireland but like everywhere else Ireland was not immune to Rome's influence and more than a few visitors from the Empire, some most likely bearing arms, came to what the Romans called Hibernia.
the fact that i said retired. he had to retire as he was attacked by an auto immune virus that could not be treated, rendering him bed-ridden for months. on his first performance back he had trouble keeping up and was exhausted.
"vomited from the exhaustion," ?? Where did you hear that one? Sounds like just pure gossip that didn't happen. Unless you provide some good source we'll just chalk that up to bullshit.
How can I possibly believe you when you get your multiple personalities mixed up, MrChronoSan/DecoDogify? [g] I already know about the 'mysterious illness' Michael had. I was addressing your "vomited" comment. Were you there? What show as it? Be careful I know people back stage and fans. [g] In 1995 "someone" told me that M.F. was dead. Point is, you shouldn't repeat 'gossip' unless you know it for a fact.
He is the greatest artist ever in our time. God bless him and his talented team. A LEGEND GOES FAR.
When you're sitting and watching them live, it's like an earthquake of greatness.
this performance is breathtaking!! I also love the costumes.

This show is actually a remake of Feet of Flames. I have the dvd with the interview about his irish dancing history. ^^
