Stiv was a friend of mine in Youngstown ohio. We worked together in a factory. His band at the time was called “Mother Goose”. The craziest dude I ever met.
Cheetah’s in good form here. We used to hang out when he lived not far from me in nashville. He was off the H and he (and I) smoked a lot of weed and drank Guinness all day and all night, and didn’t seem to affect him. We kinda lost touch and I heard he started riding the horse again. He doesn’t live here anymore and I hope he’s doing alright. He’s great in this clip.
I've known Cheetah Chrome since 1976. I'll be going to see him and the reconstituted Dead Boys in Glendale, AZ in just a few days! I'm wondering if the dancing bikini woman was Cheetah's old flame Gyda Gash?
Yes, it’s a tribute act, but what else is Cheetah going to do to earn some rent money? There’s no way he can work a straight job. Plus, no 401K or pension for retirement. The only issue is the turd trying to act like Stiv. C’mon, be yourself, grandpa. You may gain some respect.
Thank you and God bless you a million times for posting this. I cannot believe how good this band is. I truly regret not being old enough to just have seen them live in the late 1970's, also to not have seen them during their reunion with some new members. This is a hard rock band that truly deserves nomination into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.
He still has it here doesn't he? Most punks dead from back then but he still rocks in this clip. Dead Boys were great and underappreciated . Just like the Ramones.
Stiv was great, he would tell us what hotel they were at to hang out after. I was in the moosh pit and I asked Cheetah for a beer and Stiv gave me all of Cheetahs Millers he had stashed. RIP.
Maybe dey should called dem selves a Dead Boys Tribute, cause when I saw this post,I was thinking dem Boys were Something back in da day of CBGB,nah!Take care fans,Keep on Slammin!Jcs
I saw them a bunch of times in NYC back in the good old days. CBGBs, Heat, I think they even played one of the Marijuana day concerts in Central Park. One night at Club Heat Cheeta came out with a cast on his hand, could,t play guitar, I don't know who they had playing for him. He came onstage said "this is my fucking band", and they started playing, he bounced around on stage all night. I was there that night John Belushi played the drums with them at CBs.
Holy shit that’s tommy lee. Makes sense cuz I was thinkin why the fuck do they have some hair metal fuck doin this and now it makes sense. Pisses me off
@@petarticinovic2710 I agree. NotStiv should be fronting his own band playing his own songs. Cheetah should be fronting his own band playing his own songs too, "Take Me Home" was a great song Cheetah did, 2 band members from a 5 man band should not be touring as what is basically a tribute band. I saw the Dead Boys for the 1st time 44 years ago yesterday (10/1/77 at cbgbs) THAT was the Dead Boys.
What’s funny is anytime you see interviews he says “” I didn’t just want a copy of Stiv “””. Well ummm that’s what he has here. Someone desperately trying. He could of at least got someone that sounds closer. Cheetah is a piece of poo too. Full of shit
Was that what led to The Blitz Benefit or was that an additional stabbing? I was Debbie's guest on the second night. She wore my shirt during her performance with Robert Fripp
He just shreds it from about the 4:40 mark. Dead Boys were American Sex Pistols or maybe vice versus. Cheeta kind of looks like he was released from the senior citizen activity hour! Dude can still play though.
the new york dolls were THREE TRILLION DEGREES ABOVE the rolling stones AND the dead boys were ANOTHER THREE TRILLION DEGREES ABOVE the sex pistols. HONESTLY.👍🏻
I remember when I first heard the dead boys young loud and snotty album in 1978 it was nearly a fuck yeah moment like when I first heard the Sex pistols, I said nearly.

Awesome. What's the craziest story you remember with him?
I was fortunate too see all the original Dead Boy's lineup. This certainly is not but if the audience enjoys it,we’ll Let it Be.
Agreed. I saw them in Richmond, Virginia, when they got back together in January of 1987. The only original member I see is Cheetah Chrome.
Dats what I'm saying,ReaL CooL gos to you,4 Gettin ta checkem out DB,back in da CBGB days! Thanks HiLLy!Always, nah!Jcs
Cheetah rocking out his old tunes with the help of his friends. Having a good time, and why not? Cheers.

This is not the dead Boys from the 70s.
😂
Cheeta should put a Band together and tour by himself. He's a cool guy.My friend knew Him in the early 80's and we hung out a few times. Awesome dude.

Fantastic how good Cheeta Chromes playing sounds about five minutes in.
the pride of Cleveland Ohio. Well maybe not this line-up--but yeah the originals. Go Cheetah!

Lmao true. How many you need though? 2?
1 original member or 3 roadies and a stage manager
Is that cheetah chrome?
@@jerrypierce6360 yeah
As close as it gets to the real thing baby
Cheeta still got it. Solid.
Cheetah Chrome is the heart of the Dead Boys! :-)

Saw the Lords of the New Church in 1985...great gig...Stiv is the man of course... this however is shyte
this makes me sad. 1 original guy and Tommy lee as the singer. What a joke. oh yeah and some 29 yr old guy with plugs as the drummer.. perfect
Holy shit that’s tommy lee. Makes sense cuz I was thinkin why the fuck do they have some hair metal fuck doin this and now it makes sense. Pisses me off
David Johanson is the only member of the New York Dolls that's still alive and tours as The New York Dolls.

"Dead Boys Live" is a contradiction. But they sound good anyway.
Dear Fake Stiv, stop it. Just stop it. Sorry dude, but this is horrible.

This is Cheetah Chrome and the posers. Not the Dead boys.
They sound like fasterpussy cat or LA guns in late 80’s , This is Entertaining… Rip Stiv!!!!
I was repulsed then I'm like Umm.....................WHERE'D SHE GO?!
Our friend, Ingrid, actually married Johnny Blitz. Then he got stabbed in the head at Deli Stop on 3rd St. He was back the next night.

Don't know what all the fuss is about. This isn't anything special
Where in Oakland was this?
Fans of the Dead Boys (and the Stooges, Germs and Plasmatics) should check out footage of Australia's AMYL & THE SNIFFERS...!!

Didnt they donate to terrorist groups lolol

Flashback
Nothing like seeing a cheetah shake the mud flaps. Too funny.
Se tivessem tido cabeça na época do CBGB hoje eram mais reconhecidos... a época do nascimento do punk rendeu bons frutos para eles.
That’s gotta be a reissue National cause the old ones didn’t play or sound like that .

Fuck yeah it is!!!!
only one punk up there, ( Cheetah ) rest are laughable..whats with the stripper ..embarrassing
She's a left over groupie from the late 70's.,,
How did they get so old ang I stayed so to young? Old punks don't die we just stand at the back.
Love how they just got a lady up there who’s just supposed to vibe

Not the Dead Boys and Stiv Battors is R.I.P.
There are bands still playing with none of the original members.
Doesn't exactly sound like Stiv

This makes me feel old, sad, and gross. Love the records though.
So Cheetah Chrome aside, who are those guys?
I can't tell you how many times I saw them.

Good for Cheetah. Putting it on the line from day one.
