@@corneliusmuller117 How and why could you think that? On what kind of *facts* is your affirmation based? In these times, the soloists were very fond of virtuosity, - it was a way to valorize themselves. It's then probably normal that such brillant artists as the Meyers are deploying their whole talent.👏👏👏👏
Krommer for sure was not a genius, but a a very gifted composer. His writind for the clainet is excellent . As in most virtuoso concertos of this time (think about Chopin) the orchestral tutti was used only in exposition andtrecapitulation, the orchestra was most often reduced to the strinfs pianissimo during the plying of the soloist. THis is by far less demanding than the style of Beethoven and Mozart. Nevertheless, thrse concrtos are c verry pleasant toi hear
Perfect, of course. But I'd prefer a slightly slower tempo in the 1st movement: The genius buildup to the trill at th-cam.com/video/a1Ry40FSZ8c/w-d-xo.html and the trill itself are somehow lost in this high speed. Also the Adagio could be more on the slow side to increase the tension; they play it, I think, "just so". The version at th-cam.com/video/PfmCjX8JI9Q/w-d-xo.html has, in my opinion, much more life.
The two clarinets sound like they are being played by one person, not two. What an amazing performance!
excellent
Wonderful, love Krommer!
RIP Wolfgang Meyer
9:57 Adagio
14:55 Rondo
Spirited !
I doubt if the composer this very fast performance in mind had. Anyway I like it this way.
Classical music was played pretty quickly back then.
says who?
123 321 often converts were played to an audience the majority of whom were standing, possibly in the open air.
Faster the better
yes i think krommer would die again if he heard it this way!!!😳😳😳 outrageous!!! 😒🧐
