    Mr Whittman, Thank you and thanks to Ob for the videos. I use to go to the shows a lot until my legs gave out. I'm old and just don't feel like getting around those convention centers anymore because I wear out too quickly. These videos are almost as good as being there in person. Much appreciate your knowledge on these historic pieces and look forward to watching many more.

    The inscription on the presentaion dagger (at 24:00) is "Für Ehr und Pflicht bis Herz und Klinge bricht" was an old Prussian saying ioften inscribed on swords, daggers and knives. The translation to English "For honor and duty until heart and blade break" basically means "use this blade to serve with honor until death."

    In 1841 the needle gun was introduced into the Prussian army. It was the first military weapon to be loaded from the rear, i.e. not from the muzzle, that was generally introduced. The needle gun therefore had a higher rate of fire than the historical muzzleloader.

    Amazing collection , such a large amount WW11 German items in America ,would you say that the personal items were legitimate battle field trophies of war or stolen ?

      You are right sir! Im 16 years old student
      I have worked month of my summer holidays to obtain some money so i can buy something but the prices are still too big.
      Now i have like 700$ and planning to buy SA dagger

    • @MrTruckerf
      @MrTruckerf ปีที่แล้ว

      Prices will fall drastically when the old collectors die off, at least for the common items. Now, for the AH, Goring, Himmler, etc. items the price will always be sky high because of the notoriety of the individual and the quality of the items.

    • @MrTruckerf
      @MrTruckerf ปีที่แล้ว

      We all knew what he meant. I have heard the two used interchangeably for 60 years and it probably was common long before that.

    • @darrinrentruc6614
      @darrinrentruc6614 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrTruckerf Tom has said he is not into firearms, we know he is a expert on daggers and would rightly correct anyone who inaccurately describes any parts on a dagger. It does not matter if you have heard the word clip and magazine used interchangeably for 60 years by people who are ignorant on firearms, Them two items are not the same and have never functioned the same.

      I say this respectively, but I just don’t get the emotionalism over a woman whose empire has caused more misery and sorrow in the world. For example, the African colonies both before and after their liberation (The UK never gave them their economic freedom).

      Someone that goes grave robbing German soldiers burials and disrespecting the soldiers remains is more than creepy to say the least. If mr. Wittmann would only know half what that guy has been up to he wouldn't want to be associated with him.

    Thomas;
    Does you German friend, at the end of the video, have to have a special license to sell Third Reich collectibles in Germany? I had heard you could get jail time for having anything with the swatz on it.

    • @MrTruckerf
      @MrTruckerf ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not know such things were allowed in Germany. They are VERY strict about enforcing anti-nazi laws there. They cannot even talk about the nazis, at least on the German TH-cam knife and bow channels I have seen.
