You will find out that the oxygen bottle on that set up won't last long. If you go with a "pipe" muffler, look for tubing. It will be much easier to work with when using lighter welding/ brazing equipment as "pipe" has a thicker wall. Tubing will also be closer to the thickness of the muffler if you are joining them together. Just my 2 cents
If you’re just brazing on a pipe or deflector the mapp gas can be used as a stand alone. 3700 deg Fahrenheit is PLENTY to do the job! The key is to use the right flux rod and get everything dull red before applying the rod
I would suggest using propane torches. It burns slightly cooler if you are welding sheet metal. Also the no contract thing is nice. On the O2 bottle, the large bottle contract is the same price but cheaper to fill. Go big.
I bubble gum my muffler mods with a 100 dollar princess auto mig welder. You need to do a ton of little tacks, if you try to run a nice bead it will melt the muffler. Using thicker pipe and focusing the heat onto it helps a lot too.
I do mine at home I do custom metal fab for work but have a tig set up at home, but even without a tig set up a basic arc welder you can do carbon arc.welding
Not as hot as hot as acetylene !! Map gas needs to be above 40’ or the gas will separate an not burn right. Map and polypropylene will both do this if it’s to cold!! Just saying.
I’ll never get tired of….

Is use tubing with regular mapgas and that works fine for me.😊

Loving the instruction, as always, Donny!
Nice shop Donny! Map gas is ok. Oxygen & Acetylene is better!🤩

They are great for small jobs way quicker than just map gas
Thank for the info on the welding
That’s funny… I was just thinking I should modify my 7310 echo muffler
Also the oxygen goes fast I usually use two oxygen to one map
Donny have you a video of how modify a 592 exhaust please
You musta read my mind
Want to do this on my 371
I often wonder how much scope there is to improve a Mac 10-series muffler. 🤔
😎😎😎👍👍👍
