@@Water_Worker it works albeit crudely. It plays a anim you set up in the code as Assaulter then AssaultAnim on their weapon that plays on all firing locations on garrisoned buildings and they have to approach them like C4 on Tanya/Navy SEAL.

Man, Tesla Troopers are pretty awesome. If you manage to get your hands on some Battle Tortoises, fill them up and send them into your enemy's base... well, there won't be a lot that can effectively deal with them.
@@mwperk02 Pretty sure that's the case for most people nowadays, who tinker with mods anyway. It's hard to get around Mental Omega if you dip into YR's mods rather than just play vanilla.
what about 2-3 linked prism towers? had lost some battle fortreses due to them so i take hem or power with something else before sending in the cleaners aka battle fortress team. i mostly play normal yr revenge nowdays

Tesla Coils might do less damage, but they are much better at dealing with rushes and attacks from multiple angles.

I still couldn't believe what makes Tesla Trooper bad is just range alone. Maybe some more armor modifier and health to help them approach the enemies could help like Mental Omega balances it? But even then with the buffs from mods they are relatively rarely used outside of buffing Tesla Towers.
They do have use in the campaigns and some early game since they can go tow to toe with grizzly tanks. But, once the tech labs are built they good for anything other than buffing the tesla coils,.
Mental Omega features Shock Troopers that makes them obsolete. I modified both to be able to garrison bunkers, making them more useful. Shock Troopers in bunkers are extremely deadly, especially once elite, which happens soon enough.
They sure are really hard to promote, mostly due to their short range and medium cost. Also, I think they should have kept that ability to balance them out. 5:32: That wayward Paradrop though. Not even Operation: Market Garden had such problems.

I love tesla troopers. They are one of my favorite units in the game. I did not know that they could tank a prism tower hit and power up unpowered tesla coils. I knew they could charge it but not that.
One of my fav infantry units but too bad the short range holds them back too much. Mass infantry assault vs AI by mixing them with conscripts as meat shields might help.
@@costco_pizza You can argue which unit is the best but the Tesla trooper is definitely not a contender. Not considering the whole series, just RA2 alone many units like the IFV and GI are more versatile than the trooper. Series as a whole the "best unit" would probably come from RA3 since there are a lot more crazy units and each having a secondary ability. A few that come to mind as contenders are Twinblades, Hammer Tanks, Stingrays.

I remember the very first time I used Tesla shocktroopers. My buddy didn't know what they did either. He kept trying to run over them with his tanks and was getting frustrated with losing his tanks to them. I had read the unit description and knew what they were for and that they repelled armor. Ah good times.

I have to ask, the Tesila trooper is a concept alone is hilarious and awesome, between red alert 2 and 3, which is your prefered. I personally like 2's version as it looks simple yet other worldly, plus a giant electrical gauntlet. Edit: I should said that I never liked the suit in 3, but it grown on me.

it's actually balanced, if you put it inside an IFV or battle tortoise the range becomes 2x more but you have to put effort on capture allied war factory.
Cant they also power your base? I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty certain that in the instance your power is out, you could have one charge a local Tesla reactor to effectively restore power.

This actually isn't possible in the vanilla game, according to modenc the tesla trooper and SEAL both originally were able to do this but it was removed at some point. To reenable simply go to [SHK] in rules/rulesmd.ini and set Assaulter=yes for the tesla trooper and do the same in [GHOST] for the SEAL.

I don't think you can charge it in those maps. The Tower must belong to you.
You mod the Eiffel Tower to be capturable by Engineers - Tesla Troopers can only charge up allied units
