FYI po, the high discrepancy between the fees paid by international and domestic students in public colleges and universities is due to the fact that domestic (PR and Citizens) pay the subsidized version. Otherwise, if si government hindi nagbigay ng subsidy, PR and Citizens would've paid the same amount. Let's also not forget how some provincial governments took massive cuts from university fundings and fees are increasing every year (for AB, NDP froze those fees while they were in power but since UCP took over, they have reversed that).

Federal and provincial funding for these universities and colleges are lacking , and there is also a cap in tuition increases for Canadians and PR holders. To solve, they put a scheme ‘student visa ‘ with generous provisions to attract international students raising revenues to fill the gap.
And look at the price that has been paid…. A more permanent consequence of overpopulation of unneeded residents competing for housing and causing high cost of living …. List goes on. Is it worth it for the relatively instant gratification of student = money for Canada’s schools?
Universities from bigger cities are mostly affected with the cap. We also felt the effect pero not as much as Ontario, Quebec and BC. Our international students usually pays 3x more of the tuition compare to locals, kaya mas ideal din to study on less populated provinces and spend less.

Nag rereklamo sila dahil wala n silang kita at mga school n yan pera lng habol nila sa mga IS tapos di nman nila tinuturuan ng maayos. Parehas lng yan IS and mga schools naggagamitan sinasamantala yung luwag ng Canada dati. Mga international students di nman talaga intention n mag aral dito yung pi am main intention is ma PR and mag work. Tapos yung mga school nman they are taking advantage kasi doubled or 3x yung tuition nila. Canadians want international students out, di nila narerealize how IS help them not to pay high tuition. US has a problem with student loans, they dont realize kung gaano kagaan sa Canadians ang ganyang kamurang education. Now, sila ang sisingilin nyan. What the gov could've done was to control IS applications from certain countries. That way, diversity and intention to study is real. Also, thank you for pointing out the housing responsibility of the schools. When you are an IS example Japan or SKorea, they have dorms for you. It should be the same here in CA. With that income of the schools, they should have a capacity building housing for these students. Also they could have changed the policy instead putting cap to IS, why not stop IS to bring family? Because that adds to the demand and someone w family will not live in a dorm. Just little tweaks to policies could have been enough.
Mas mabuti pang i close down nila yung fly by night schools like here in BC sya at yung mga friends ng pamangkin ko na Canadian born waiting list sa school nila kasi mas pina prioritized yung IS.

They’re looking for someone to blame. Ang hirap na kasi maghanap ng work kahit PR or Citizen ka pa. They should blame the government though for letting them in without considering that it would affect them in the long run.
It's simple: they can lower the tuition fees for international students but take away the opportunity for them to enter Canada after graduation. Let's see where that leads Canada. Or they can raise the existing tuition fees even more but open the doors for international graduates. For Master's or Doctorate Degrees: Lower the tuition fees so international students won't expect to enter (live and work) Canada. Or raise the tuition fees further but allow entry for them. If they decide to raise tuition fees but remove the chance for international graduates to come to Canada, it's better not to go there at all. They're just exploiting international students. Mas okay pa economy ng SG and UAE. So disgusting sa panggagatas sa mga legit and deserving na IS!

Parehas lng yan IS and mga schools naggagamitan sinasamantala yung luwag ng Canada dati. Mga international students di nman talaga intention n mag aral dito yung pi am main intention is ma PR and mag work. Tapos yung mga school nman they are taking advantage kasi doubled or 3x yung tuition nila.
Quantity over Quality.

Morning po.
STOP the hate!
They’re looking for someone to blame. Ang hirap na kasi maghanap ng work kahit PR or Citizen ka pa. They should blame the government though for letting them in without considering that it would affect them in the long run.
Why cause they make more money out international students 100% ang laki tuition compare sa citizen and resident
Greed is one of the 7 deadly sins.
Maraming rich students di mo alam nagdonate that limited spots para sa legit na Canadian Citizens spots na does not afford huge donations!
Pera pera lng yan lalo na sa mga #pana akala nila cguro pag graduated nila PR agad 😂 and i saw a video that indian family sell a farm to afford there daughter to come in Canada. 😅

Scam pala yun.
International student programs are designed for top scholars and rich folks. They are not supposed to work long hrs (20-24 hrs max before). They should be able to have money to pay for everything - food, tuition, lodging, transpo, no matter how high - with minimal to no effect on Canada's labor market. They are there to learn and contribute in the economy by paying huge tuition fee and spending as much money as they can. They are not suppose to be eligible for PR. They are suppose to leave as soon as they finish school - i think this had turned to 2 yrs now. At least... thats the old rule. The thing is - many school had turned into diploma mills and milked those poor students for money with cases where as long as they payed tuition they will pass. That plus including promises of PR even when the college is questionable. Too much greed for money had eaten the education system.
