I live in the U.S. - Texas. I’ve been watching your videos all afternoon and evening! I am a new subscriber now! I also have ordered four of your books and already have 3 of the books you recommended as some of your favorites from your library. I have worked for Husqvarna Viking and Janome in sales and as a store instructor. I have two overlocks (one also converts to Coverstitch), a Janome Cover Pro 1000CPX a small 60 stitch Janome sewing machine, a 60 year old Pfaff, and a Viking sewing/embroidery machine. I love them all. I’ve retired from working and am getting back into sewing for the fun of it and am so glad I found your TH-cam channel! Thank you for sharing you skills and talents!!!

Hello, I just found you site. Wow. Your videos are very detailed but your explanations are very clear. Why do other videos make things sound so complicated. I'm in the process of making a simple T-Shirt. But this video has made me much more confident in sewing with my stretch knits and make some beautiful blouses. Just like your video. Well, it might take me a little bit of time to get them just like yours. Maybe a couple of years !!!! What I like about your videos, is that you have a great sense of humour as you go. Thank you for that. I get very tense sometimes when I'm learning to sew. Thanks Again!

What great tips you have provided. I would use pleats in a sleeve cap, but not a few gathers. It might look as if I couldn't sew an inserted sleeve correctly. If someone doesn't have a rubber mallet, a regular hammer can be used. Just need to cover the metal with some soft fabric. Also I have found if thick fabric seam allowance doesnt want to lay flat, increase the seam allowance a little more, or don't trim it as much. I truly love learning from you, you explain so well.

I really like the pleated sleeves and the self-fabric neckband. It really steps up the garment.

I always put the neckband seam at the middle back of the neckline I never thought of lining it up with the shoulder seam 🤭

Ah, yes. Both works of course, but at the shoulder the seam is pretty much invisible

Great video! My tip for the neck band's vertical seam: I am pressing it open, to have less bulk. If I am using a serger to sew the neckband together, inside the folding of the band I clip the fabric up to the seam, being careful not to clip the looper stitch, and I fold the seam allowance right and left. I hope I was not too confusing. Your tip with the rubber hammer, I have never thought about, I have to give it a try :) Greetings from Chicago

Good info there for sewing knits! I have been getting back into sewing with knits as they are quick to make and you can be so creative also. I first learnt how to make t'shirts etc back in the 1980's era when my two boys were toddlers and I was always at the sewing machine making lots of track pants and sweater tops for them. I also made some for me and other friends too and really enjoyed making different colours and styles also. Now am slowly getting back into collecting my fabric as I have lots to make. Watching how to get that neckline just right is one of my issues but now realize it has to be a narrow hem. My husband bought a few good t'shirts some months ago and must admit when I have ironed them have studied how those necklines are put together to get it looking so professional. Thank you so much showing how its done and when I am about to start my projects, shall be referring back to all your videos covering these stages. Do love the long sleeve knit shirt you made, just my style and the twist top too.

I am in the process of making t-shirts as summer is on its way (fingers crossed) here in Australia and my old ready to wear t-shirts are nearly thread bare I have worn them so much. I love the Burda Style shirt you made so much so that I ended up buying the pattern. The fabric that you made it from is gorgeous too, and the pussy-bow shirt is gorgeous, you should really consider selling the pattern as it would make it a nice "in between seasons" top. One t-shirt pattern that you would like is the 'Galaxy' top by 'Paper, Scissors, Cloth' it is a free pattern too and has lovely gathered sleeves. Happy sewing

Can you suggest how to add stabilizer to thiner knits with a knot in front. I purchased a shirt and the knot tightens up with wear and you can't see the detail. The knot tightening does not affect wear...it would just look better with more volume in the knot around bellybutton/waist. I have no extra fabric to make a facing. Thanks

A way to reduce bulk in a stretch neckband is to join it on the bias, then the seam allowance don’t sit on top of each other after the band is folded. Hope you can visualise what I mean?
I bought that burda twist dress/top in a pdf sale. I’m definitely gonna make it as a top!
