- In this Vlog I create and make all of my shopify and etsy orders from the weekend. I make approx 140 scrunchies plus hair bows, stickers and face masks. I also package all of my 30 orders up in the second half of the vlog. Skip to approx 37 minutes to see the packaging process!

Im a 22 year old from Gippsland, Victoria. I started Madebytaylahrose when I was 15 years young. I decided to make a youtube channel to post my tutorials and tips/tricks that Ive learnt being a young entrepreneur over the last 6 years.

You are amazing doing all that you do. When I seen you had lots of orders I was so pleased for you but then I thought how on Earth are you going to get it all together. From big scrunchies to small,face masks and scrunchies,,packs with just stickers in, make your own scrunchies packs,then you have all the boys . I would not know where to start and u even had to make some items.
I felt like I wanted to come and help you . How on Earth you got it all done I do not know.
It was so lovely to see the long blog and everything did all come together and you were packing all the items lovingly.

Fun tip I learned watching DIYs of making labels myself. Iron the whole printed paper on the fabric. Then use the rotary cutter to cut them out.

How much do you charge for your scrunchies in your masks in case people want to get orders
Wow! This was a really cool video from an owners perspective. I also run a few shopify stores but dont ship the products out myself as its far too time consuming. How long each day do you spend preparing, packing, and shipping orders?
Thanks so much! ☺️It took me about 2-3 hours to package these 30 orders (including having to make 3 extra scrunchies and a facemask) 😁 it does take quite some time tho!!

Love to watch how you work! One question: Why do you sew the wide elastic after gluing it, since you are sewing the fabric through the elastic anyway?
When I sew across the elastic I don’t sew across the doubled up part as it’s very rough on the machine, so I need to make sure the elastic is secure otherwise it’ll snap apart ☺️

Hi thanks! Mostly room and also motivation I have over 400 designs and it’s just easier to have some made up (eg market stock) and then made to order for the rest ☺️

Thank you Joan! I print out each name/address and sticky tape to the parcel as I’m packing the order (I cut this out or try to hide it tho for privacy reasons)

Hi taylah i’m in awe of your channel!! i have started a new business i’m in australia too and got 9 orders but oh my gosh i’m so confused about all the posting stuff can you make a whole run down of cost how to address envelopes for countries, do i have to go in to auspost everytime i ship? i got 4 overseas orders and 5 different aussie ones i need help so bad with absolutely every detail hahahaha

Overseas orders might be a bit tricky as they are currently only doing documents in letters (so stickers were okay to send) but I still Cant send my scrunchies, only in a big parcel which are quite pricy. If you go to auspost they will be able to answer any questions you have but have a look at my video it explains the basics of auspost 😁

I also wanted to let you know the sewing machine noise isnt really that loud and we watch the vids more for how you package and the materials you are using. It may seem repetitious to you but not so much for us.

May I ask where did u get the measuring board at ? What the size of it ?
I got it from a local craft store! But the brand is Fiskar and I’m pretty sure it’s a2 size! ☺️
Not sure how you use that thick elastic! I used thicker than half inch once and couldn't even loop in my hair
My elastic isnt as dense as others and has quite a bit of stretch! They are still firm but that’s how I like them as they hold better ☺️
I can't remember if you already said this. What kind of fabrics do you use? Is it all just solid, or do you also use stretch fabrics?
I use heaps of different types! Including many stretchy fabrics like certain velvets and metallic fabrics. Cottons, velvets, satins, rayon’s etc are some of my favs

How many orders do you average per day?
I see for your bigger elastic band, you're using glue instead of sewing it as most TH-camr did. My questions;
1. What kind of glue did you use?
2. Is it strong enough to handle all the stretching?

Hey! The glue is only to hold the elastic in place so I can sew it ☺️ I use tissue paper
How do you get do you have your own you said you had your own business but I mean how do you get somebody orders and how do you make so much a day I mean I could be dead making all those scrunchies good luck

I’ve done a video on what wholesale is but not specific to what I do! Possibly a video for the future 😁 I usually do 40-50% off rrp plus gst and postage (also minimum orders and all that!) ☺️

Day three of asking for a scrunchie tutorial
I do not understand using big boxes for a couple items!
Cheaper to purchase one size in bulk than purchase many different sizes.

Why can't you post scrunchies overseas?
I can in big parcels! Just not envelopes currently, since April last year Australia post suspended overseas letters that weren’t documents due to the overload on the system and not as many flights :) big price difference ($3.40 for letter and $21 for parcel 😲)
