- In this vlog i make a heap of Xl scrunchies, normal scrunchies and some bows for my upcoming market. I also chat with you along the way about the traralgon and surrounds that flooded while making this video. I also chat about the future for madebytaylahrose scrunchies and hint to future video vlogs. You come to the market with me and see me setting up my stall! It was such a great day, perfect weather, SO BUSY! Thank you to all that came and said hi!!

Im a 22 year old from Gippsland, Victoria. I started Madebytaylahrose when I was 15 years young. I decided to make a youtube channel to post my tutorials and tips/tricks that Ive learnt being a young entrepreneur over the last 7 years.

I remember making scrunchies as a little girl! My mother was a seamstress and gave me all her scrap fabrics and taught me how to use her industrial overlocker and sewing machines. I sold them at school fairs to donate the money to children charities. Fun memories. Blessings to you and I wish you much success with your business.

One of my favourite pulling tools is a normal metal bodkin needle glued and duck taped to the end of 1/2 a chopstick… looks bit rough but works great …..when I was making fairy skirts I used it heaps but it works for scrunchies too

Hi, I loved all the paisley fabrics at the beginning especially the pink, so I hope you can get some more as I just checked and they weren’t listed, unfortunately my hair isn’t thick enough for xl scrunchies right now but I love the minis and bunny ears and defo would love little clips and berets. You could just put a big bulldog clip on then end as an anchor! Something like that from officeworks would do the job quickly.

If you look at the XXL scrunchie youtube profile, she uses the bobkin thingy.. She doesn't cut the elastic until after she has treaded it through the fabric.

Hey Taylah ...That flooding looks awful! Hope it settles down soon. Have you thought of making pocket folding totes? You could use them to pack your scrunchies in and sell them too. Would be a good product to add an embroidered logo as Merch.

I use a pen or a thick plastic needle wrap/thread elastic round/in and drop it down for tube scrunchies it literally takes 20sec, wouldn’t work for the burrito ones tho 😊

When I make lots of scrunchies or waistbands for fairy skirts I leave the elastic on spool but I use a pen to mark my lengths , I then thread on lots of casings pushing all but one down the elastic away from the bodkin. I remove bodkin and as I move each casing to the end of the elastic I cut and glue , then pull another casing to the end and repeat over and over .. I hope I have explained that ok ..lol

you can find a blade sharpener. that way you will be able to reuse the blades, reduce waste and save some dollars :)

- maybe leave the elastic attached to the spool - then feed through scrunchie - cut after the ends meet -- you won't have to anchor one end of the elastic
This method works really well if you mark as many of your lengths as needed with a pen along the elastic before threading the casing on 🙂 then they all are guaranteed to have the same length of elastic when you cut it.

Did u ever try each different product before sell it. Because i tried mine i have no business but i made some for myself and used them some fabric is not good for it and some elastics are not long lasting. Good luck 👍

Just wanted to help with the kids and baby product dilemma. I have four girls aged 1 through to 7. My older three who can put their hair up wear scrunchies but in the same fabric styles as mine. You will find a lot of parents buy them scrunchies in similar styles to what they wear rather then child type fabric, same kind of thing with bows. You said you market more towards teenage and adult but I would buy them for my kids just in a smaller size. Also the small baby headbands will probably sell more because they are less likely to pull it off their head compared to a 6 month old.

I heard her say 20
Centimeters in one video and she uses 3/4 inch or 2 cm elastic. For the dimensions of the xxl scrunchie idk.
You can also sell pouches …..just a suggestion…..it’s totally up to u …… no pressure

@@teresagalvin312 a pouch is a small bag, or purse or drawstring bag used as storing goods like stationery, beauty products or anything basically……on google you will see pouches as reference to drawstring bags but my reference is pencil case or beauty product storage bags etc

You are going to have to keep it on the roll of elastic, but mark off the length before you. Feed it through . That’s what I would do.

Pin the end so it won’t loose it inside.. I never use glue…hmmm
It’s almost impossible to sew this elastic without glue holding it in place.
