Yeah agreed. Also I thought the StG44 was supposed to be a low recoil, long range gun but the accuracy isn’t that good. It’s just average. So it’s more of a well rounded gun. If I’m using an AR for up close, I’d take the BAR or M1941 over the StG44. So if the Volkssturmgewehr is better than the StG44 at range (with advanced rifling), then the StG44 is probably just an average AR in this game. I think even the M1 Garand is actually better than the StG.
I'm really happy how balanced basically all weapons are in this game. It has been really surprising how drastically the game has changed since Condrey left because it really hasn't been that long of a time. I'm really excited about getting back to playing WW2 after my holiday.
I still love the Volk even after the nerf! So OP in hardcore with the fast fire rate for a one shot kill! Try it in hardcore especially with advanced rifling! It will be the most OP rifle you might have seen!

Ace you should find a way to map the muzzle flash radius. If you look at the side by side footage, when using just the iron sights you can see the Volks muzzle flash is fairly large and actually goes up into the sight line, when the STGs flash stays below the sights and doesn't interfere. Me personally, I sometimes have problems losing my target at longer distances with the Volk because of the flash and I usually hate wasting an attachment on a reflex, so muzzle flash is important to me.
Like the Volk, cause its sound more "cozy" and have a weird look, and I only used it a couple of days, before that, the stg44 was my favourite ar in ww2. Thanks for all videos, keep em coming :)
Sounds like the STG is a clear winner, with the Volk you can get same range using advanced riffle, but you can't get the same ADS and SOT, with STG you get same fire rate with rapid fire but also have the better ADS and SOT.
Catalin Ionescu You forgot the AIM that is Horrible, i prefer VSTG maybe u can't rush but u Hit always every Bullet. So i win mostly the gunfight if i preaim.

After the nerf, I switched back to STG44, and I used it a few days, but I ended up going back to Volk. Even now when you break it down, I would think STG was more for me, but I am feeling the Volk more... probably the recoil combined with TTK. I think I will have to switch out high caliber for adv rifling on it now though. I have been using HC because I feel I always get a lot of HS with that gun, so might as well take it down a shot to kill, but the other might give more advantage in the long run I think.

Ofc not everyone, but everything most players use are volk,stg,bar ,mp40 ppsh , combat shotgun and sometimes type-100 and lewis. Very few ppl touch to snipers anymore ecept in gustav. Semi-auto users are almost none existed.

The nerf to the VSTG seems to have pushed the BAR back to the top of the meta, at least in my experience. I had stopped seeing the BAR being used by multiple players every match in favor of the VSTG, but now I’m seeing the BAR again a lot. I even started using the BAR again when it was never that good in my hands before, but the Dude Up II has irons that work for me, and with grip, extended mags, and rapid fire, it kind of feels like easy mode even though it only has 30 rounds extended compared to 45 in the STG and VSTG. All three are good guns, though.
Great video! I would like to suggest a comparison video for SVT40 and Garand. I know most people will say Garand is better hands down, but I found myself doing way better with the SVT40 because of the lower recoil. It just feels so consistent. I'm also confident challenging snipers with the SVT40. With the Garand, the recoil is high so if you want to challenge someone far away, you have to wait for the sight to recenter. But if you wait that long the fire rate would be slower than the SVT. And if you try to counter the recoil by pulling down the stick (or moving down mouse), it's really hard because the recoil is just too high. Also I think most people didn't bother to try SVT40 or learn to adapt to the low fire rate. Once you get used to the "rhythm" of the weapon, it just becomes super fun to use as you can kill far targets really fast. Bam bam, dead, bam bam dead. It's like the Bren with better handling. However SVT is still bad at close ranges, so I use duelist pistol to supplement.
I prefer svt over M1. People can pronounce that the Bar is best, or what ever gun, but its a matter of preference. I enjoy Kar with iron sights, so glad i can do it again. Was my favorite setup in WaW
kar with iron sights is so hard to use lol, the idle sway is huge and damage is reduced, you have to hit chest and up to make a kill. Bar has bad idle sway as well, and the sound it makes is quite distracting to me for some reason lol

Don't kid yourself, man. The STG, as well as almost every other gun in the game could use some kind of buff. Right now, the STG is statistically a low-damage CM-901. The Volk is an HVK-30 that's even weaker at long range.
The STG Haywire II (I have a 7k+ kill count) for Hardcore..The Volk GOAT II (6K+ kill count) for Standard. These are my main Assault Rifles. They are both my top 2 weapons in WW2. I disagree on the rush approach comment Ace made for the STG even w the faster ADS and sprint out times. My play style is a run n gun/quick attack on most maps. The Volk for me is made for that even after the nerf. Where as the STG is a hang back n almost camp style/long range for me on hardcore because of the natural range and accuracy w grip on Hardcore. The reason being is if u add rapid fire on the Volk with advanced rifling the kill times are outrageous, and far more OP then anything the STG has as far as DPS even with rapid fire. So my current set up is the Volk Goat II with Advanced Rifling, Rapid Fire, and High Caliber Rounds and/or FMJ depending on preference. The Volk to me is still the best of the AR class even after the nerf. Just learn to control a reasonable recoil w/o Grip and you'll see the difference. A burst shot style of trigger pull helps with this. Learn the timing on a 4/5 shot burst w the rapid fire/advanced rifling attachments and the vertical recoil is almost eliminated. Ps, I loved the vstg before patch. It was my go to! I love running airborne, I love to rush, and move around the map. I feel like the stg44 more so equipped to do this with, than the vstg. Even with a 4x scope on, long range shots are almost always accurate. So its versatility seems good. And i knew the vstg ads time felt slower than stg44 as well, Im glad this was validated. Its not by a landslide or anything but i feel like stg44 is winning at the present time.
I don't have a Main weapon depends on what I want to play with If I do TERRIBLE with a gun I remove it from my class I constantly change my weapon classes but I like the Thrive PPSh-41

Ace great vid and great content overall...I love the volk as the better gun, the stg seems to bounce to much for my already bad aim. I play on a 8 over 8 to turn fast if shot from behind.
I can say stat wise they are much closer in comparison but what u forget to make people think about is the higher importance of stats like recoil and fire rate over other stats like sprint out and ads (which also comes into line of connection as well) the volk is superior in this regard as the recoil is much more controllable than stg and the fire rate makes its time to kill better effectively making the volk better overall
As a hardcore player, I kind of wish you would show the range to kill based upon hardcore health. :/ now I’m conflicted as to whether or not I should use the STG or Volk as I love them both already.
The volk seems to have better hit detection for me I have just unlocked it n the bribe and trying to get back to advance riffling on it but at the moment I still much prefer it to the STG. Of course with rapid fire weird ace didn't mention it.

I mainly used the STG before I managed to get my hands on the volt but have lent on the volt more until the nerf, but I think I will go back to STG as I would like to get the gold camo
The volk gets the edge simply because of high caliber. The recoil takes you directly to an enemies head therefore decreasing your shots to kill/time to kill significantly.
I enjoy both but I think I like the stg better at this point. The volks really needs quick draw and advanced rifling at this point where as the stg doesn't really need any. On the volks I want to run quickdraw, extended mags, high caliber and advanced rifling -- which takes away my basic training slot with primed. On the stg I normally run reflex, extended mags and high caliber. I doesn't need the reflex but it really doesn't need any particular attachment and I like it. I almost always run extended mags and/or high caliber when it is available. I suppose I could drop high caliber on the volks but it is such a good attachment...
Dragoonsoul7878 I don’t normally have issues with the ttk on it. Sure it isn’t the fastest in the world but it isn’t slow enough to me that it feels slow. It makes sense as an attachment though.
Depends on the map for me. The volk is definitely better but I still love the stg. On gustav I always run the gustav. My most v2s have been on gustav with the volk 😂 7 so far on that map+gun alone. But I like the stg on shipment flak tower and point du hoc
Ace, I have a question. Where you said putting rapid fire on the stg44 would compensate and put it in line w/ vstg's ttk. Doesn't it make the stg44's recoil even more unstable at mid to long range shots? ultimately hindering the gun more than compensating it? Where as im not sure of any disadvantages to putting the advanced rifling on vstg. Is there?
I grinded out the Volks collection just to get the Goat 2 out of a common drop 2 days later, just my luck lol. I think the Volks is better than the stg if you're using advanced rifling.
LOL Thank you I thought that may be the issue, But many times they tweak guns and throw them off. I have thought because it is there way of getting you off your norm and on to another.
Mainly the pros fault, they're always tweaking weapons because of them, and people complain alot because they suck at the game and want everything nerfed
STG is better on paper, but the VSTG with rapid fire, extended mag, and long barrel is the best gun in the game. I just can't go back to the STG after going with that setup.
for me it is still the volksturmgewehr because i really love the iron sight! i play it with extended mag, quickdraw and rapid fire...for me still the best gun for most of the games :)
I love them both but i got the new heroic variant of the red baron stg so im using it just because of that now lol. Both are very good and solid weapons, you cant go wrong with either one of th em, its personal preference.

Personally, I prefer the volkstrum. Mainly cause the sound and the feel make me feel like I am actually hitting targets with bullets... the stg make me feel like I'm shooting a bbgun
What I don't get is how the assault rifles don't have a 3 shot kill range while smg's do. Do they not understand that assault rifles shoot a larger round? Larger round = more energy = more "stopping power". SHG talks about all the choices they have made for WW2 and how they wanted to make it realistic but their gun setups are all over the place. LMG's are lazers and SMG's are god.
I never understand why people want guns that aren't that hard to use and are good guns, but end up getting nerfed anyways. and the weapons that need to get nerfed such the Shotguns and the Sniper Rifles get small nerfs, but are still overpowered weapons, this is why it fucking hard to play these game when everyone is using the overpowered weapons.
Personally I prefer the volkssturmgewehr (or vegan which us what I call it) just because of the recoil and fire rate, but I it’s really close because of the nerf. So sad because I never used it pre-nerf :(

Markii is Trash the Grease Gun, MP 40, Type 100 (After recent update), M1928 Thompson, and the M-38 are all great SMG choices along with the PPSH FYI
The current weapon balance is great. Still prob a few tweeks needed but its the best it has been since launch and plenty of great guns

I run mainly Infantry, before the nerf Volksstrum hands down NOW the STG with QuickDraw, Steady AIM, & (Rapid Fire or High Caliber)!

Rotorist Workshop if i remember right ace already has done that. Well it was for prenerfed svt vs m1 garand.
you mean prebuffed lol, prebuffed svt had very high recoil. Afterwards the recenter speed was faster and it's now very easy to use.

As a hardcore player, I kind of wish you would show the range to kill based upon hardcore health. :/ now I’m conflicted as to whether or not I should use the STG or Volk as I love them both already.
Stg w rapid fire > volk w advance rifling. The other stats determine this

No one ever mentions the real deciding factor between these two! The fact that the Volk just sounds so much more vicious when firing! lol :)
The volk seems to have better hit detection for me I have just unlocked it n the bribe and trying to get back to advance riffling on it but at the moment I still much prefer it to the STG. Of course with rapid fire weird ace didn't mention it.

I mainly used the STG before I managed to get my hands on the volt but have lent on the volt more until the nerf, but I think I will go back to STG as I would like to get the gold camo
I'm versatile I play with both to get the prestige up, but I like that STG
The volk gets the edge simply because of high caliber. The recoil takes you directly to an enemies head therefore decreasing your shots to kill/time to kill significantly.
Volk is good with the attachments at at short range but at the 5 shot kill distance it is more than unmanageable. Near impossible to keep on target.
I love the recoil pattern on the volks I put high caliber on and get so many headshots compared to the STG
My best STG class is advanced rifling, rapid fire and grip.
Absolutely melt, always a 4 shot. Challenge everything.
I enjoy both but I think I like the stg better at this point. The volks really needs quick draw and advanced rifling at this point where as the stg doesn't really need any. On the volks I want to run quickdraw, extended mags, high caliber and advanced rifling -- which takes away my basic training slot with primed. On the stg I normally run reflex, extended mags and high caliber. I doesn't need the reflex but it really doesn't need any particular attachment and I like it. I almost always run extended mags and/or high caliber when it is available. I suppose I could drop high caliber on the volks but it is such a good attachment...
Dragoonsoul7878 I don’t normally have issues with the ttk on it. Sure it isn’t the fastest in the world but it isn’t slow enough to me that it feels slow. It makes sense as an attachment though.
They feel similar but the Volk kills slightly faster with is higher rof but I prefer the STG. It feels slightly more accurate.
The volk is definitely better. Trust me, I've used both a lot. STG is useless up close.
Depends on the map for me. The volk is definitely better but I still love the stg. On gustav I always run the gustav. My most v2s have been on gustav with the volk 😂 7 so far on that map+gun alone. But I like the stg on shipment flak tower and point du hoc
It seems to me that the Volk performs better when using Resistance as opposed to Infantry. Have you noticed any difference?
I like both depending on what game mode I'm playing but recently I've switched to smg's more

I have preferred the STG, but I've also used it a ton more. I've yet to give the Volk a fair run of use.
The STG-44 sounds like a machine pistol.
A real STG-44 sounds completely different and more powerful.
Ace, I have a question. Where you said putting rapid fire on the stg44 would compensate and put it in line w/ vstg's ttk. Doesn't it make the stg44's recoil even more unstable at mid to long range shots? ultimately hindering the gun more than compensating it? Where as im not sure of any disadvantages to putting the advanced rifling on vstg. Is there?
I grinded out the Volks collection just to get the Goat 2 out of a common drop 2 days later, just my luck lol. I think the Volks is better than the stg if you're using advanced rifling.
ACE why do they always mess up good things, although the Volk was a bit beastish.

LOL Thank you I thought that may be the issue, But many times they tweak guns and throw them off. I have thought because it is there way of getting you off your norm and on to another.
No everyone had it and they need to sell more supply drops so they will probably make a new op gun and nerf Volk lol
Mainly the pros fault, they're always tweaking weapons because of them, and people complain alot because they suck at the game and want everything nerfed
Tony Volk is banned in competitive.
STG is better on paper, but the VSTG with rapid fire, extended mag, and long barrel is the best gun in the game. I just can't go back to the STG after going with that setup.

for me it is still the volksturmgewehr because i really love the iron sight! i play it with extended mag, quickdraw and rapid fire...for me still the best gun for most of the games :)
I love them both but i got the new heroic variant of the red baron stg so im using it just because of that now lol. Both are very good and solid weapons, you cant go wrong with either one of th em, its personal preference.

I don't know why. But, I get a ton more head shots with the V over the STG.
VSTG is better if you run advanced rifling, also in my opinion it sights are better compared to the stag-44
the volk imo still shreds.. I just get challenged alot more with it.. but I got it gold guess I could retire it briefly and bring the gold stg back out
I prefer the Stg 44 and i'll also use my permanent unlock for it because i just always want to play it. Yes, it's my favorite weapon.

Personally, I prefer the volkstrum. Mainly cause the sound and the feel make me feel like I am actually hitting targets with bullets... the stg make me feel like I'm shooting a bbgun
How many hit markers did you get at 00:49? It looked like 5, not sure if it was an audio issue or I just miscounted.
What I don't get is how the assault rifles don't have a 3 shot kill range while smg's do. Do they not understand that assault rifles shoot a larger round? Larger round = more energy = more "stopping power". SHG talks about all the choices they have made for WW2 and how they wanted to make it realistic but their gun setups are all over the place. LMG's are lazers and SMG's are god.
What's funny is the Volksstrumgewher was the cheap/hastily made last-ditch gun when they couldn't afford the superior STG-44

Having trouble with Smoke Screen challenge. Any ideas? I think I’m capping obj. W/smoke but they don’t seem to be adding up.
I never understand why people want guns that aren't that hard to use and are good guns, but end up getting nerfed anyways. and the weapons that need to get nerfed such the Shotguns and the Sniper Rifles get small nerfs, but are still overpowered weapons, this is why it fucking hard to play these game when everyone is using the overpowered weapons.
I've picked up the Volk several times, and I don't get the love for it. I mean it's good, but I don't enjoy using it like I do the STG.
Imo the stg is better and I also think the stg with no sight attachment seems easier to control then with the dot sight even at longer range!
I like the volk before the patch and hated the stg. Now the STG is my goto AR

basically slapping a bunch of attachments to outplay a bare vstg.
Personally I prefer the volkssturmgewehr (or vegan which us what I call it) just because of the recoil and fire rate, but I it’s really close because of the nerf. So sad because I never used it pre-nerf :(
Can you check if the ppsh got silently nerfed? It seems different. KoreanSavage thinks so too
i dont really use either i use the M1 Garand but when i do use them i use them both equally
