Alcohol in moderation is a wonderful thing. The discovery of alcohol was a defining moment in the human experience. Dropping onto all fours to slurp out of a puddle into which fruit had fallen and fermented, our ancient ancestor made the singular decision to give up hunting and gathering in favor of crop cultivation. Civilization as we know owes its origins to alcohol.

The money / debt system is just a problem with the numbers getting larger than we used too but it’s actually the same as it’s always been .
The reality is do we have enough food ? Resources? Energy ? Healthy people to do the work needed to keep things operating decently enough to stay alive and not have mass starvation etc …
Something real has to be wrong to actually cause real civilization collapse .
Worst case the banking and monetary system will have to be reconstructed to be more normal seeming so it’s not crazy feeling

@@Scottadamsfan3481 I recall a snippet from US history, seems people have been complaining about “the” banking system and/or “the national bank.” Candidly, I never really understood the arguments pro/con. Does it really just come down to faith in the system? Is there really a debt crisis?

    • @Scottadamsfan3481
      @Scottadamsfan3481 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@notidentified4031 it’s actually totally fine . The reality is money is just a means of trade . We can survive without money because we have so much land and resources and food and technology. The money is just a simple fast way to do business and trade .
It’s not even a problem at all .
It’s like worrying about if we are all gonna just randomly forget how to work and trade and grow food and stuff just because the banks or money system acts up or crashes
As long as we just keep going and adapt one way or another we fine
What is the motivation to not just keep this system going for the rich in control ?
They have no reason to mess it up
It’s only when we actually start running out of resources or something that you have to worry which happened in Europe before the discovery of the new world
We basically still raping and pillaging the vast resources of the new world now and for next 5 thousands years probably at least
Once all of north and South America is completely fully inhabited and all the resources start running out which may never happen because it’s so huge and vast we will never have a total collapse
Maybe some plague will wipe out millions or millions but the money system is just a way of trading so that never gonna just destroy us

Regarding jobs you used to be able to do drunk: Dock workers were notorious for this. It was backbreaking labor, hauling things on and off ships which was the only logistic mode of transport.
Regarding "fixing" the debt: The reason they don't talk about it, is because inflating the debt away is nefarious. The option we've chosen is dishonest and likely going to make the rest of the world upset when they notice it. We don't talk about it for the same reason someone stealing from your shelves wouldn't complain about having to restock so often.

By pleading guilty to working and talking to Russia for Trump campaign he doomed Trump and allowed the Russia hoax etc to ruin his term.

1:16:00 mental illness being solved with two words "get out".
Perception is reality, or what you understand of it anyway.
If you take a placebo, you may give yourself a chance to heal without introducing chemicals into your system.
Encouraging people gives them courage. Of course it does!
Free yourself of an emotional burden.
Tell yourself that what matters most is your health.
Once you're in a good mood, pray to God.
Tell God you need his help.
    Ask him to guide you.
Just listen to yourself as you make this plea.
    Conclude with "Amen".
Now, with your awakened consciousness, having heard your deepest thoughts spoken out loud,
    you've identified your problem.
Having absolutely for foresight and not having learned from the past won't help.
You don't have to be in denial.
What you need is confidence, a plan, relief, and finally to take some action.
Sleep, food, shelter... these are your basic means.
Once you have what's needed for survival, it's time to make connection with other people.
    Work on your skills.
Offer your skills in return for more means or just friendships.
    Build your life.
    Ready yourself for opportunities.
When the iron is hot... strike out.
    Become a success.

Actually, that is a psychological phenomenon called "hyper-normalisation" (Russian: "gipernormalizatsya"), which refers to a state of mind where, if one cannot fathom a solution to a known problem, they just continue "riding it 'til the end" -- i.e., until it culminates in whatever outcome eventuates. The term was coined in reference to the Russian peoples' mindset during and before the fall of the Soviet Union: Everyone knew it was collapsing; but, for lack of way to avert it, they just continued on, zombie-like until it all fell apart.

If we worked on it for 5 or 10 generations, we could pay the debt down somewhat.

I’m wondering … what’s going to happen instead.

    • @snakeplissken7671

It's not a hard concept to pay it off actually. If we cut spending by about 46%, and never raise spending beyond a certain % of the GDP, it will be paid off in about 40-50 years if our GDP doesn't tank and we keep the current undesirable tax rate.
Most of our federal spending is wasted on socialist dole policies that democrats pushed during the great depression and the cultural revolution in the 60's, and the constant expansion of Medicare to a point where just getting a couple scans to get a $40 antibiotics prescription is charged at over $25,000 because there's no free market. They can charge whatever they want when there's several degrees of separation between the hospital, insurance companies, the government, the bloated bills the government passes, taxation, and the client.
Cut government doles by 80% and ban the government from spending more than the national debt interest + 800b towards the principle + whatever's left of the collected taxes that year. That fixes both the debt and curbs inflation forever. We can start lowering taxes every 5-10 years so GDP can grow. After about 50-60 years, we're debt free and prosperous again.
I would at that point continue to leave the ban of the government printing money in place. And they should be banned from adding too much socialist dole. Cap it at 20-33% of collected taxes. Force any socialist dole policies to have to pass an 80% congress and senate vote and a 67% nationwide referendum FIRST, with clear and honest explanation of how much our taxes will go up because of it.
We must rip the government's ability to put us in such a hole away from them and ban them from doing so again. We are in the hole because they bribe voters with socialist dole policies. It needs to be illegal to do that and must be bi-partisan only.

@@snakeplissken7671 I think a 5% cut in spending would be next to impossible for budget makers to agree on, let alone pass legislation on.

@@SplatterPatternExpert Not just that but they are deathly afraid of cutting welfare-esque handouts because they fear not getting re-elected. Adding term limits will help tremendously get things done that need to get done without the corrupt career politicians paralyzing "adulting" in the room. They are too worried about keeping their positions and getting votes so they can continue to get huge salaries and be in positions to receive bribes and insider stock tips.
The main reason congress is ultra slow, imo, is the lack of term limits and over-emphasis on keeping their seats than on doing anything constructive. They haven't worked for the people in a long time. And I mean both sides here, though moreso the democrats since they bank so hard on handout out tax dollars to people who have low IQs and no chance at getting rich to get their votes, rather than on any policies that actually strengthen the country or allow you to get out of the lower/working class and become middle class or above.

OK, I just looked into this concept of "debt jubilee." It's mostly about releasing people in prison over debts so they can fight in wars. There's some hints in the Christian bible that God doesn't want people to go to prison for debts. However, in America, generally people _don't_ go to prison for debts. Also, you can have your debts, other than student loans, forgiven at any time by declaring bankruptcy. If you just want to allow people to declare bankruptcy to escape from student debt, I totally agree. Otherwise, what you really want to do is just steal from loan providers with no negative consequences at all. That's not how anything works. There's no free lunch.

Your homeless solution is bad. It boils down to: "We can save money by spending more money". No lol. HELL no.
The homeless wouldn't work and would just destroy the "new cities", and you would end up wasting even more money on it. If they wanted to work, they would already be doing that. Have you ever spoken to a homeless person or a junkie before and actually tried to get them to change? It's worse than the metaphorical "pulling teeth". They make a boatload of excuses for why they "can't" do it, but it boils down to: they simply don't want to.
Throwing money at it isn't solving it. The Miami homeless solving issue seems okay, but I also don't like how much money they throw at it. When people refuse to work or "live with dignity" (usually they chose not to!), then there is no reason to waste stolen tax dollars on people who do not wish to work or "live with dignity" in the first place. They just want to lay around and not work, and get free handouts. It would turn in to a dilapidated drug den within months. Literally the worst idea I've ever heard on the issue. You are way too keen on the idea of "building cities from scratch". I get the appeal, but doing so to "give it to the homeless" is just the dumbest idea I've heard you speak of all time. Really awful idea. It literally does nothing to address the national debt and literally just makes it way worse. Were you high on something other than the usual when you came up with that?
I would rather my tax dollars not be used for that or to simply not be taxed by the amount that would have gone to it. It's a total waste.
To fix the national debt, you cut spending. Most of our national debt spending is money that is doled out due to bribe voters based on policies democrats ran on decades ago. By most, I mean over 80% of the spending is dole. Cut that down by about 3/4ths and we'll be fine. The wild spending on welfare, medicare, and social security is what is killing us. Specifically welfare and medicare being the worst bloats we should get rid of entirely imo. 100% cuts to both except to veteran's who were disabled in the line of duty.. I would also put 0% towards the homeless.
Let charities take care of those other things. If people had less tax dollars stolen, they would be more likely to donate to charities anyway. And those who do not wish to, are not forced to in the form of being overtaxed.
In summary: You can fix the national debt by cutting socialist dole policies by 75-90%. we only spend as much as we do because our GDP is so high. Pretend out GDP is 1/5th what it is, and spend based on that. Add constitutional amendment banning the government from printing money unless its during an active invasion on U.S. soil during war time.
