  • Here's a review of another Bass Ukulele. This time the nice guys from Thomann send one over. Harley Benton is a Thomann brand.
    Another Bassuke I reviewed:

Awesome. Glad to see the excellent packaging since I am looking at have them sent to the United States from Germany. I disagree with you about the packaging AT PRESENT due to the way a lot of shipments are roughly handled by the carriers. I just received a mandolin here in the U.S. from Amazon and when received the box was damaged and all I can say is the mandolin was damaged to the extent of having to be sent back due to simple packaging. I do agree with you about companies needing to improve their methods of packaging. You are correct about reducing the waste. My advice to suppliers is to do a styrofoam pour where the instrument is in a bag and then pour a foam that forms in a basic box and hardens around the unit to prevent damage during shipment. Presently I would say I will order knowing that it comes presently packaged adequately to make it across the ocean and also in materials that can be recycled. I do agree with you Ove that suppliers need to continue to improve their methods to reduce all waste of resources of the environment. Thanks for the review. ALSO, surprised to see the black strings on the unit. All others I have seen are white.

Hi there Ove, I've got a question for you. On other reviews of this piece of equipment someone pointed out that E string tends to rattle when playing a bit harder and the G string tends to sound out of tune in higher positions. Did HB fix this problem or is it still a thing in this model? I'm thinking about buing U-bass myself. Thanks for the answer in advance.

I wish that output jack wasn't in such a delicate spot!

Thank you for demostration. I’m sorry but i have a advice (trick or cheat😊) if you positioning your right hand on the near of the neck (not the bridge like electric bass style) then it is little dificult to play but sound will be more like upright or double bass.

Thank you for the info ferruh that is what I was also thinking when I saw others play it the same way as an electric near the bridge.

Not so long ago I ordered a cable to my monitor and obtained a box that could contain a whole PC! But seriously, it just contained the cable.
