This time around we take a look at another reaction made possible via Michel Sardou and his song released in 1982 with "Afrique adieu." I am French, and this is one of my favorite French songs. The musical production is awesome. And it is a very nice song to sing in karaoke or for personal pleasure.

Quand on voit le vide abyssal de réaction aux productions Françaises sur TH-cam, Dereck a vraiment le monopole du marché !
@@TheZapan99 Ya "Breaking Bars", un anglais qui réagit sur YT aux musiques urbaines françaises. Par contre c'est pas l'algo YT qui va le proposer à ceux assez vieux pour connaitre et aimer Sardou. C'est tristes, mais les "algorithmes de suggestion" sont un enfermement intellectuel.
@@samueldevulder Comme tu le dis, ce sont les "musiques urbaines" qui sont mises en avant par TH-cam, mais il n'y a plus personne dès que ça consiste à découvrir la culture authentique d'un pays, plutôt que la soupe mondialisée qu'on retrouve partout. C'est vrai pour la musique comme pour les films Français.

"Comme d'habitude" is from Claude François (he co-write this song and sing it first when no one wanted this song). After it succed in English countries under the title of "My way" sang by Frank Sinatra.

I've been at a concert of Michel Sardou in 2005, it's one of the best evening of my life! This guy could sing! (he's still alive, he's just retired from music ^^)

This is by far one of my favorites song, ever. I can't sadly, but it makes me want to quit everything and leave for Africa (and other places too) to photograph animals. Can't explain why, but I have this thing in my stomach every time I listen to it.

I agree Dereck, it's his best song! When I was about 14 my best friend at the time was into Michel Sardou - me, not so much, my thing was UK New Wave (still is!) but I always thought this song was incredibly powerful and unique. The instrumentation is crazy good! And the humming!

0:25 I wouldn't translate the title by "Africa Goodbye" which suggest he might get back to it. Instead "Farewell Africa" is probably closer to the true meaning of the title.

Another very good reaction to one of our best singers. To my understanding, this song is about nostalgia of a « past time Africa » (maybe imagined or idealized) that is changing (under western influence ?) and that will never come back.

Michel Sardou it's a phenomenal vocal power … and yet he moves very little on the scene ,not like johnny halliday who was much more expansive and showman (besides, he wrote him an extraordinary tribute song: le phoenix !!) Whether committed ( le France ) or love ( 10 ans plus tôt / je vais t'aimer, la maladie d'amour … ) or other themes ( Marie Jeanne / je ne suis pas mort je dors/ femmes des années 80 … ), it's an anthology of songs that punctuate a career in more than 300 titles . The choice will not be easy !

Been listening to Sardou since I was a kid in the 70s, his voice is just insane! His parents were pretty cool artists, typical from the Mediterranean South of France.
If you see him live, you'll be surprised cos he his so still! His voice coming out, straight, and almost no movement at all! He's known (and mocked a bit!) for that! "La force tranquille" as we say in French.
I love so much this song. Now, I want a HARD ROCK version, RIHANA version, mylene farmer version and DAFT PUNK version !
