7:56 Fun fact: they would be more protected and could possibly survive with 3 pieces of protection 4 and 1 piece of blast protection 4, because that still maxes out blast protection (full blast prot 4 doesn't reduce damage by more, seriously go try it) and reduces the initial hit more.

If you add the new pointed dripstone into the equation, you take damage equal to fall distance x 4 - 3, with a fall of 216 blocks, you take 861 damage, adding the max axe, that is 888 damage, or over 44 health bars.
he also forgot all about foxes, which can be given sharpness 5 netherite axes. As long as your enemy hits you, then 20 foxes with strength 2 and netherite axes with sharpness 5 (Foxes do not suffer from the cooldown XD) you can decimate a player

In 1.17, you can use commands to get a weapon with Sharpness 255 and you can also use commands to give yourself strength 255, so if you have commands you can deal 2,501.25 damage with just one hit for the strike, in total with the after-effect you can deal a total of 2714.25 damage, that number is even bigger in 1.16 because in 1.16 you could use commands to give yourself sharpness 1,000,000,000
I think this is in survival though. Adding commands into the mix just makes it boring. But getting max possible damage pots to spawn on the player would probably be the most damage.

It actually WAS possible to survive a /kill command, it wasn't possible on survival tho'. You needed resistance 5 if I'm not wrong, each level of this status effect absorps 20% of the damage, so resistance 5 was giving you a literal immortality, because EVERY damage was completly tanked by the status effect
/kill just kills you, it doesn't even do damage and before the 1.6 update, /kill simply did 1000 damage so with 5-255 resistance you could take no damage so you were immortal but then when the health boost and absorption buffs came out /kill was changed from 1000 damage to 30 sextillion (if I remeber correctly) aka god knows how much zeros there are and 30. Anyways, at an update that I can't remember, /kill just now outright killed you, piercing defense (from armor like diamond armor), damage reduction (from resistance) and stuff.

@@mambodog5322 Sweeping edge makes it easier to hit more entities, so the base sword hit would be multiplied per entity. Plus, you can add sharpness to a netherite sword, pluck strength 2, and there you have it, a lot of damage.
@@TBTornado I thought we were talking about the maximum damage you can deal to a single entity (a player, in this case). My perspective is if you used sweeping edge to hit the player and the crystal, the I-frame rules described at 9:32 will force the weaker sword hit to get nullified by the much more powerful end crystal, making it useless to do that over simply punching the end crystal directly.

someone appears to have forgotten about the largest explosion possible: Wither Explosions. Rig up a redstone contraption that quickly creates 7 withers within 5 seconds of each other. Hit with the axe exactly 0.5 seconds before the first wither explodes and see how much damage is done.
