@@McMahonHater Savage vs Steamboat didn't have a moment like undertaker almost dying by accident. That literally had me and my friends like, oh my god, he might be dead, and to finish the match like it was all meant to happen. It was almost like that was written in a movie as the arch of the match. Its okay if you don't feel like that, it could be the age difference, this is about when I stopped watching wrestling after growing up. I only saw savage vs macho man on vhs. I can't imagine that steamboat told a great story that led up to this match because he wasn't a great promo either. And the way the careers came together, and it being ten years from their last major match. Its a lot of pieces put together that make this match more memorable even if its not as good on a wrestling technique level as you may judge it. Then it comes down to style because I can argue that mysterio vs guerro is a better match by a landslide
then hogan vs warrior, but ifs not even a question which one meant more.
Man, Kenny is such a great interviewer. He just lets them talk, no interruptions and you can tell that he knows when he's got gold on his hands.

Shawn Michaels is far and away the single best performer ever in the history of the business. Heel or face. High flying or brawling to technical wrestling. most match of The year awards …twice as many as anyone else. And every major star in the business all point to Shawn as the best performer ever. Shawn never botched anything. Cut some epic promo’s. Created DX. Mr. Wrestlemania. Left 4 years out of his prime and had 2 Hall of Fame Careers before and after the back surgery and 4 yrs away. Inarguably the best ever.

I dont know why but i can imagine being on stage with Shawn is one of them pinch me moments even if you have interviewed pretty much every one. Regardless if he is your favorite, or you hate him, there is no denying he is a legend. For me i dont dislike him at all. As a face or heal he always brought the action.

It’s crazy as an adult hearing triple h was freaking after Shawn’s and takers match because as a kid I was ready for taker and Shawn’s match to end so I could see triple h finally put an end to Randy orton and legacy I was soooo invested in that story that him and Randy had

The story is The Undertaker got hot about going on mid card, but if you look at the complete card they went 6th, out of 8 matches (+ one dark match).

As "important" as that match was - it wasn't for a title and title matches should always be the main event. Only marquee matches can take that spot, and while a retirement match for one of the best of all time could be considered a marquee match - WWE didn't think it was at the time and again thought the title match should be the main event.
It wouldn't be so bad if Orton vs HHH weren't one of the most boring Mania matches of all time.
As much as people say that Shawn is a ill mannered guy, I am more inclined to believe his stories over other people. He's a natural story teller, and I think he adds a little bit extra detail, but I don't think he leaves details out of his stories to make himself look good.
He has a unique personality in the wrestling world, he doesn't hate his life.
most of the bad stuff was from the time before his first retirement ( believe right after Stone Cold took the title at wrestlemania), the Shawn from back then had a chip on his shoulder bigger than he was, being both incredibly talented and years of alcohol and drug abuse will do that to someone. during his time off for healing his back he met his wife, got clean and found religion. i do think that helped him a lot.

They was the seventh match at WrestleMania 25. The 8th match was John Cena versus the Big show versus edge and then the final match was triple h versus Randy Orton.
He's not making the story up . The match was originally planned to be the 5th match as both Taker and HBK said in previous interviews.

Instead of a Saudi show where legends come back, there should be a through the ages event/match or generations event where its current superstars can call out anybody, it also gives credibility to loser must retire, as the Saudi deal seems for the money but the through the ages or generations match is for the fans. Can you image I challenge you to a generations match! “I’m calling out Shawn Michaels!”

It's so heartfelt and meaningful and then it's just like, "Yeah, forget about the Saudi money that got me out of retirement for that jank piece of shit match a decade later."
It's wrestling, who cares? As the old saying goes - money talks and bullshit walks. You tell me if Vince/whoever offered you XXX amount to have a match in whatever country it is even if it turns out to be a bad match, you wouldn't take the money? Not to mention, maybe he got the itch for another match.

Did HBK not like Minnesota? As a kid I remember him always being "injured or sick" and was never at the house shows. My favoret wrestle of all time and I never got to watch him live.
He had drug problems in the 90's if that's when you were a kid and he was an older part time guy when he came back in 2002.

HBK is still in excellent shape for his age. That had to of been be a rib by Vince not putting his two longest tenured biggest stars in the company's history (HBK and Undertaker) in the Main Event of WM 25. Vince probably had his classic sadistic grin in the Gorilla Position when Triple H and Randy Orton were coming back from their match.

For me he shouldn't have retired at WM26 especially since he was heavily involved in WM28 & 29 by Triple H's side. There were more stories to tell. HBK vs Punk, HBK vs The Rock, HBK vs Daniel Bryan
It should've been Vlad 😅 The Diva Battle Royale which immediately followed with Santina Marella winning had no chance nor did anyone else. That match greatly saved WM 25
Why they acting like vladimir wasn't a beast. That guy was my favorite till they made him team up with Santino.
