I love these things you find, and it's wonderfully informative with all the research you include on each item, Thank you, Si! Makes me eager to do some mudlarking of my own along the Murray River near Red Cliffs! 🥰🥰🙏🙏❤🐈⬛🐕🦺
Wow! I love to watch your larks as you also give us a terrific history lesson or two. And now, even a bottle cleaning how-to. You have so much knowledge to share and your enthusiasm for mudlarking comes through. Thanks, Simon!!
Love watching you guys especially when you find the clay pipes whole with the long stems would love to have one they are amazingly cool.
I always enjoy your mudlarks, Simon, and am constantly amazed by your talents as evidenced by your Etsy store. Must also acknowledge your video editing skills have improved quite a bit, too. Thanks for bringing us along, Si!
Fun video. You definitely make me want to mudlark with you and whomever you would have along!!
The seal stamp from your event hunt was a great find 😃 as is the brass French piece. It's really cool that you left the old bottle for someone to take ☺ Just like on Nicola's video, those clay pipes, the blokes who smoked them and tossed them out would be having a hardy laugh with how we all love them so much. They'd never have thought the pipes would become so sought after and collectable 👍
Have a wonderful week Simon!
Kaye's Diggin It aw thanks Kaye!! You diggin it then? 😊
Thanks for the bottle cleaning tip, I’ve found a few bottles & sometimes struggle to get the last bit of mud out 👍🏻😁
Enjoyed watching. Congratulations on your finds. Looking forward to your next hunt.
Great finds Si-finds love watching your vids, that round metal bowl looks like a part from a reception bell to me anyway xxx
Lovely Jeton mate... Thought it was a gold angel for a second..! Cool finds Si-Finds,, again and again..! Watching Nic next..!
Thanks Sean! So did i!
Cool seal matrix - you'd never know to look at it - so glad you impressed to reveal its secret! Nice lark.
Great set of videos. Perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon in front of the TV. Font of knowledge which is so educational. Do like the seal you found previously, still with a beautiful imprint.Well done & thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing, mudlarking is something we would like to do.
What a lovely seal find. Great video!
Fun video as always. We find quite a few of those little white glass beads on native American sites out here on the west coast of the U.S. The early fur traders brought them here to trade. They are usually referred to as pony beads.
Beautiful bottle. Looks so pretty after cleaning. The little thing with Mary and Gabriel was lovely too
Great little video Simon. The wax seal matrix was very interesting, especially when you demonstrated the impression in the wax. Lovely find.
Cool the bottle tops candle holders or incense sticks love it
Hi Si, That large round metal with a hole in center looks like a bell that would ring at certain times like noon time.
Really enjoy watching you & Nic! You’re our favorites.
Love & great luck to you! Thanks for the video!
John & Linda in Ecuador
You have a good eye for finding the smallest things. I love how you can find those coins and buttons. Amazing. Thanks for the video Si.
Sally A. Thanks Sally!
Fab vid, u found that lovely old bottle. Fab gifts from mr hat.
I always watch your new video and Nic's every Sunday, while relaxing with my cup of tea or coffee. So, it doesn't really matter which I watch first. Lol. This was my first time seeing The Man With The Hat though, I think.
You could make some really cool Yard Art with all those rusty nails and such.
Perhaps you could make use of the bottle necks and driftwood by fashioning them together into a coat and hat hanger. I'm thinking maybe three or four necks protruding from a wood piece, with the ability to be attached, or hung from the wall. I suppose such an item could be used for hanging most anything, from dried flowers, to photo frames, to your bath robe. Just my two cents. Fun video as usual. Thanks for sharing.
Very interesting and entertaining video as always Simon! Thank you!
Instead of a candle holder I think coat hanger. A little more bulky drift wood and four or five of the bootle necks in a line. Just a thought.
Sci-fi enjoyed all three of you guys mudlarksit was very interesting to see that you guys found different items you need pieces enjoyed all three
Thanx Si
love your vids it's a great idea to get 3 in 1.
Your bottle necks would make great light pulls x
Great idea!
I wouldn’t have found you if I hadn’t found Nic first I enjoy your adventures and your bottles that you turn into useful things. 😀
I was impressed by the seal matrix. It left a mark.
Will Be Jamming did it get your seal of approval?
Yep. Signed, sealed and delivered.
Spectacular matrix! Watched all 3 videos! Cheers!
I like that bottle shaking. Si putting brown sauce on his chips.
Great video Si! I feel your pain on the non pipe extractions there :) Amazing seal!
nicola white mudlark - Tideline Art Cheers Nic! You were in the pipe spot methinks!
Great video Si
Love the finds ❤😊
Between cleaning, cooking and walking my dog I'm binge watching you and Nicola
A good choice!
I think the little bowl is part of an old telephone or perhaps doorbell. There would have been two of them side by side with a little hammer between them when ringing.
Thank You Si❤️☮️🇨🇦
stunning jeton! good find mate!
speedyspeeds cheers pal!
Watched you first as I like your vids very much. Then Nic's then Man in the hat.
PompeyChris71 Cheers Chris!
stamp for Church communicators, amazing details
Hard decision...choosing, but I love the way you talk about your finds ♡
Thanks!
I think you should do a whole day of gathering old nails...the big ones look so full of storied past! They could make a huge art piece AND making the Thames cleaner...less heavy metals!!!... lol
Looks like trying to get catchup out for your chips! Nice once cleaned up Thames style! I love to hear Stephen laugh. He is a fine person. So I will watch his next. Already saw Nic's. The seal matrix looked like wheat sheaf's to me. But now in the wax, WOW, you can see the people. Nice finds!
It is difficult to gauge the size of that bullet, but it could be a .45 Colt ACP round. It was used in the American Colt 1911 Service pistol and Thompson sub-machine gun.
Awesome finds
Nice finds!
Well done on finding the seal stamp, and thanks for sharing what the image is because I thought they were trees. @.@ :-)
You should collect some of those interesting square nails and try selling them in your Etsy store, great episode....thanks
Watching Si-finds video first 😍
Thanks Anna!
Great video Si
3 videos and all different. Nice work and great finds.
One of these days I'll own one of your upcycled bottles, I just haven't found the right one yet. I am looking forward to the bomb fragment keychain that's on the way 😁.
Love the videos, keep it up 👍.
Hi! Thanks for your purchase!
Many Thanks to You and Steve and Nic! Great videos this Sunday Si Finds! Of course for a mud lover every video is great! I think that ring was smashed because some girls lover did her dirty so she smashed the ring flat with a few stones and cussed out her man as she crushed the ring and threw it in the Thames! Only to be found by Si Finds years later. Well may be it happened like this. Or some guy had his hand run over by a carriage. Nice find nonetheless! So Much Luck inna Muck Simon! Love, Light, Peace and mud on your Wellies! DaveyJO in Pa.
Great video Si
Fore Shore 😎
🙂🍻👍🏻
The dish looks like part of an old bike bell
I've found something similar to the jetton but can't tell what was written thanks I'll try research it now
danny obrian Cool. Tweet me a picture and I’ll try and help
Si, did Nicola point out to you the beautiful antique anchor she found that was just starting to be uncovered by the tide? It looked like it would be perfect in your collection!
mrpagrant yes to that!
Would love to see a video showing how you clean your finds
kdspencerf Hi. I did do one in the past. Will mean looking back through all my vids tho. It was at the end of one
...nice seal matrix!
I will buy the candle holders. Let me know. Love from the land Down under. 💖💖
#IDEA when you find things it often looks like 100 other possible treasures can be seen ,id like to see a video where you mark out a few meters sq and see what in that space, every tiny bead nails, pins etc..maybe get an archeologist to make a guest appearance[im sure theres plenty of ex TimeTeam archeologists that would be up to getting back on the net/tv
I like Nicole fish too
Hi Si, Great video!
I love your boots, where did you get them?
In the 19 c on the Thames, Jerome k.Jerome wrot his account : " Three men in a boat (saying nothing of the dog)". I wonder who of you will put things together and write a tale titled: " Three foragers in the mud ( saying nothing of the gulls)" . 🤣🤣
Thanks for sharing.
I found a 'three men in a boat' brooch.. Very recently.. ! How strange... Never even heard of the book until i researched the brooch.. :)))
@@seanwatcham8308 :
Happy finding !! 🤣
i thought a first glance that jetton was a gold hammered noble mate good hunt
Cheers! I love the jetton too!
The jetton is in such good condition, I could see it set in a bezel and then strung on a gold or silver chain. Would make a fine and very special necklace.
But first, would coating the jetton with a clear coat of resin help preserve its finish? Stephen (The Man With The Hat) would know.
15:40 could that be the bottom(wax catch/hand shield) of a hand held candle holder, the center hole being where the little cup to hold the candle would have attached and the broke of handle on the bottom edge to carry it with?
Thanks for sharing
Mike from Texas,Take Memories,Leave Footprints
Michael Peel Yes that’s a great shout!
Think Gabriel did a little bit more than meet Mary ! .
38 s& w used in lend lease pistols from usa
I like your loin cloth.
Would be cool to see you take pipe stems and make hippie bead curtains
Привет с Украины .Очень интересный канал .Молодцы .
Great lark as usual. I'm getting pretty good at spotting the treasure in the camera shots! I'm curious, has a wave ever knocked you off your feet? Now that would be a keeper of a video!
Linda Odell Yes Linda, and a bruised bum too!
Si-finds Thames Mudlark I'm sorry you were hurt, those stones and hunks of metal aren't like falling on a featherbed! (To be honest it would still be funny to see!)
@@lindaodellvt I saw the funny side 😀
That odd piece of leather looks like a helmet liner. Possibly German.
You could get rich just collecting and selling the scrap metal!
✋Hi😁👍
cool
Great video. Just came across the 1950's movie "The Mudlark" about Victorian era mudlarks staring Alec Guinness. Your subscribers might find it entertaining. Do mudlarks still sleep in barrels? (scene from the movie) From now on I will think of Simone as a grown up Wheeler.
Will watch that! There's a copy on youtube!
Just what Stephen needed, a change of scene with wonderful people .
2p or not 2p...that is the question!
Si here in the USA you can cash in copper. Can you not in London?
Deborah Antley Of course, and I do
I just wondered how on earth you manage to discriminate when using the detector on the foreshore as there is so much metal of different type?
The detector must be giving you so many hits. Do you just recognise the sound of a possible find and dig with hope?
Great video btw.
Cheers.
Um, did anyone help those fresh-water shrimp get back to the water?
Hi Si! Isn't the water going straight through those holes in your boots? Or have you got something under them? I've ruined a pair of boots and a pair of trainers, need some wellies asap. P. S Really enjoyed video. 💙
Hi, they have an inner membrane, thanks for watching!
@@Sifinds Yeah I had a feeling it was something like that and you're welcome. 💙
Could be a 9mm
Fantastic finds, Si! Good for you!
Sorry mate watched nic first ,but you second
I understand 😂
How can I get you to pick up a bag of those nails for me?
Virginia Martin message me on Etsy 👍🏻
With all the metal in the river why don’t the people gather it and take it to the scrap yard
You need some anticeptic cream on that thumb Si. Big risk of Sepsis there.
PompeyChris71 👍🏻
Some really marvelous finds-- I do like that bottle, though I got a little worried when you were rattling the pebbles around in it; I use a similar technique where I bounce some heavy screws around for a while in a bottle, fill it up 3/4 of the way with water, and then smack the top hard-- it makes the bottom of the bottle pop right off, and I knap points out of them. I like your candlestick idea, that'd look very neat with the older bottle-necks-- very creative! Urban Monkey suggested a coat hanger; ever thought of making one of those (or a cup hanger) out of driftwood and some of those fantastic hand-forged nails? Just a thought.
YsabetJustYsabet cool idea about the driftwood. Yes it had crossed my mind 👍🏻
Pistol cartridge
Si, I think you and Nicola make a CUTE couple! Is there some romance burning?
Alma Mand No we are just good friends!
You short 303 may be a 9 MM or 38 Cal pistol round. Need to measure it.
Lewis Parker yeah I reckon 9mm
@@Sifinds Could be a 45 check headstamp as these come from the USA I have one stamped 45 WRACo (winchester repeating arms company ) looks the same size as yours
MOTOR HEAD Thanks but I left it behind. Thanks for the info though!
Looked at your Etsy but didn’t see any pipe stem bracelets. Want a small bit of history. TIA
Did you get my message about the suspected detonators I mentioned to Simon? Do NOT pull on the chains.
Greg James Yes and passed it on to Nic. She doesn’t think they are dangerous
Do all you Brits toss 2P coins in the Thames?
Robin W. Darnell it would appear so 😂
You're latest video is not showing up om my latest subscription videos
ashleigh f Hi. This was planned as I wanted people to go to the short intro instead. Cheers for letting me know
I must know how many people have tried to encourage a romance between you and Nic? 😁😉😁
Are you and Nicola married?
