After the plane crash, he grew up in the Amazon jungle being raised by wild animals. He was nicknamed "Blanka" due to the locals seeing a pale boy (maybe they thought him a girl?) appearing periodically in populated areas. He supposedly learned how to harness electricity from eels (what?) and attained his green skin from using a special plant chlorophyll as camouflage which then became permanent. He also has a pet anaconda which you can see in the background of his stages in Alpha 3 and II.
Brandoloneous The name makes sense as blanca/blanco means white in Spanish, in portuguese, Brazil's main language it's branca/branco however.
But the Street fight writers obviously don't know a thing about biology, harnessing electricity from eels? And gaining its power? Rubbing a plant on his skin making him permanently green? Dafuq?
And if they saw a boy in the town they let him go back to the jungle? No one tried to help him? And why would he return to the jungle if he found civilization? Illogical
Capcom and science are two things that don't mix well.

I always thought Blanca was charlie on whom M. Bison did experiments.
I gotta say I like blanka. The way he grew up alone in one of the most deadliest jungles on the planet, the way he got his power, and the way he was reunited with his mother. And the fact that he enter the tournament to earn the respect of the people of his village was just icing on the cake.
I always thought that blanks was just Charlie after he was captured by bison and used as an experiment you can even see on marvel superheroes vs streetfighter if you pic shadow Charlie and play the level that blanks is in the background blanka disappeares during any Charlie fight . According to street fighter 2c he movie back in the day that is how it happened

I'll be honest here when i first saw Blanka in the Street Fighter 4 trailer i thought he was going to be one of those characters whose is a bad guys or be a crazed up character who's only interested in fighting, hurting people, eating any living thing he comes a cross you know what i mean because of his look i saw. But after seeing this here and hearing about his story it's seems Blanka is actually nice and innocent one of the good guys which i'm kinda actually glad he is.

The live action Movie and the Saturday morning cartoon screwed up Blanka's concept. Its like the writers didn't know a Tarzan concept when they saw it.

According to the Udon comics, Shadaloo set up a research lab in the Amazon rainforest, and polluted the local area with chemical byproducts of its research. This was the area of the Amazon where Jimmy grew up, so the chemicals absorbed by plants which he fed on mutated him and are responsible for his green skin and beastly appearance. Jimmy had to learn to survive in the jungle all by himself, and fight off the wild creatures there and kill some for food. He swam in rivers filled with electric eels, and somehow not only developed an immunity to their bioelectric shocks, but was able to absorb that ability himself. Pretty wonky pseudo-science, but there you have it.

Blanca's first appearance was in Street Fighter II back in like 1991 more or less. Street Fighter Alpha 3 was Blanca's like 6th appearance in a street fighter games. Street Fighter turbo, the new challengers, world warrior, Than super street fighter also turbo, hyper, remixed, and super edition all including Blanca, than street fighter ex 2, street fighter ex plus alpha as an unlockable character.... than probably street fighter alpha 3.
Blanka’s real origin is he was a soldier with the AN and guile’s friend. He was taken hostage by Bison, who then experimented on Carlos and he mutated into Blanka with Dahlsim’s reluctant help. He fought Guile, but lost bad and so ashamed of himself, he stayed inside Bison’s exploding Evil Lair.

The plant chlorophyll making him green makes zero sense as the outer skin cells are replaced every 28 days. Seems like they just wanted the hulk in street fighter and had to retcon a backstory on the fly.

... I'm confused why you say Dan gives Blanka the 'nickname' Jimmy. The bit of dialogue you show around the exact same time makes it pretty clear Dan recognizes him... being Dan this could be a mistake, granted, but then Blanka immediately responds "Oh! My dear old friend Dan!" - seems to me that they were friends prior to this introduction, possibly even as kids before Jimmy got lost. Admittedly that makes it weird that Blanka didn't know he was Jimmy in SF 2, but since when are these games perfect with canon, particularly jumping around timeline wise?
There is no cannon is the SF series. The cannon is what ever your favorite character's story is. BTW love, just love your series and attention to detail!
