There's a place in the great cleave i think its called, where Thorpe spawns after a few waves of enemies are cleared. The total cycle gives you close to 3k weapon experience, and a cycle is done in 2 minutes. An hour at that place is enough to level any weapon to 20, provided you have a group. That's how I leveled life staff. It also gives pretty good loot since thorpe is a named enemy and the waves spawn 3 more named enemies.

My group went there last night, we had 5 and we were speed running that shit. It works well but 1-20 would probably be an hour and a half or two hours now. Still pretty damn good tbh. Problem is my friends don't like to farm stuff like that, they get bored lol So I'll need to lfg some peeps to level some other weapons lol
@@MemoriiCard not best, but the easiest for sure...best is scorpio or scorpius in mourningdale, it's just harder to do if you dont have corrupt bane...but im 625 in all myweapons, but no full mastery 20 in all my weapons, so i just go there if i need to get a few levels or so lol..got my greataxe from 10 to 20 in a couple hours
Just jumped back on couple weeks ago - lots of level caps running around but still enjoying it. The best thing about this game is I paid one time for it and can come back and play whenever
I admit that no subscription, one time purchase model is their biggest strength. Amazon is in a unique position to provide this considering how wealthy that company is, but it'd be nice to see more often.

@@adrianliz125 They meant MMORPGS with monthly sub, so you have stuff like Final Fantasy XIV, World of Warcraft, to name the biggest, also optional sub in elder scrolls online, runescape.

I've been saying for years that I wished WoW didn't have that shitty subscription model, because you already have to buy the expansions just to be able to do more in it, and there are fucking 9 of them. I paid for a single month, got a character to level 60 and never played again. It just isn't worth the money in my opinion, I have no idea how some people got sucked into it so bad that they lost their life savings over it.
Crazy how my mates were so hyped about this game and they played it for weeks until they didn't. I'm glad I didn't jump on that letdown express.

@Douglas Diggins Skill oriented game usually means having more than 3 abilities lol.
I'm extremely surprised they haven't added mounts yet. I played since Alpha, and on release there was a lot of talk about mounts, which is why they wouldn't raise the run speed.
They are adding mounts in the new expansion in october
They did that, but you have to play 30 dollars for it.
I'm done playing the game until they add cross server matchmaking for expeditions. Your server might be populated but mines isn't. I've spent money 3 separate times switching servers because it eventually died after having 1,500 players. It's stupid having to pay for something out of my control
You kinda make your own end game stuff, I try to do chest runs (for umbral shards), 1 or 2 OPR, 1 or 2 Dungeons, 1 3v3 Arena, 1 Invasion or War, help out company and faction when ever I can. So these tasks usually take like 3-4 hours/day. It is not much end game content, but it's great if you have a job, family, other hobbies etc. Sooooo NW is kinda great for people that don't have that much free time.
As you said, sounds perfect for casual gamers :) Which in my opinion game devs should focus on the most, since we are usually the majority of any game. Very few people have 5+ hours a day to play consistently. Plus I feel it keeps the "too" hardcore players at bay.
My problem with NW is, I came back to try again and I was transferred to a brazilian server, so now i'm stuck on a server where i have no idea what the other people speak and, to be honest, i'm not willing to pay the transfer or restart again, so i just leave.

The game is still crap brother unless u spend all your money crafting and buying RMT so you can have bis. Or at least 2 perk purples but even that is a lot of baloney. The hit register is still bad and weapons are just exploited. It’s fun if you haven’t played it in a while but it gets stale quick and the population is consistently dieing out. People who act like they aren’t cheating are using exploits in one way or another.
once u Brimstone sands completed, its just OPR, Dungeon Mutations, and chest runs. Mutations suck b.c you might be able to do M10s but 90% of the server can't. The endgame is so hollow but everything leading up to the end is absolutely incredible. I quit 2 weeks ago because the Tank requirement of needing 6 sets to 625 + PVP set is just a fucking slog and I was over it. I hope the game continues to improve but Ill just take a long break
Yeah endgame still needs more love. But we will get there way before AOC comes out. Cross Servers would improve the Game for Low Pop Servers so much. Also they wanted to reduce the mutations from 10 Levels to Like maybe 4. So its easier to find a Game

Have not played in so long, my main is pre brimstone.
Jumped onto (EU) one of the new character only servers and it's flooded with low level players.
With the current leveling speed for professions compared to that insane nerf the dropped on us before mutations.
There was insane drama around hard to level professions when that happened.
As one of 3 to 5 Jewelcrafters it was a blast, but the pressure was insane and the amount of tears shed around the crafting station was hard to bear.
I enjoyed this game at launch but stopped playing when the economy was getting messed up with all the changes going on. Is it worth coming back?
New world needs an official relaunch like FFXIV did (I think).

well FFXIV is still shit. I mean it's great for casuals and pervs with catgirl fetish but the effects, graphics etc is underwhelming asf. WoW is 20 years old but this goofy graphics is not getting old as fast as FFXIV graphics. Game looks like a potato + spell visuals are cheap as well. Not to mention boring ass combat LOL. All tab-targeted combat systems are pretty bad nowadays but WoW is doing it so much better. GW2 has so much more fun gameplay than both of those games
it basically got it already, with a new starting zone, big bug fixes, new maps, fresh start servers etc. Its a way better game now.

people saying dead game i know its a meme but the servers are capped at 2500 and most servers have over 1k players daily so the world is going to feel alive even if the game is dead. Until that number drops below 1k its still alive imo.

As a mostly solo player I would come back if they had mounts. I enjoy exploring and grinding materials. But I need a mount..

Ive not been on New World since sometime around the time they introduced the patch with the new great sword. But i think im going to hop back on today after watching this.
the ancient aliens idea is awesome and would get me to play even though I'm not into this type of game. BTW ever tried Expedition Agratha ?
Just got back into it after a year off and New World seems to be heading in the right direction slowly... Only 35-40 hours to hit 60 is much better than it was on release

The game is fun until you get max level then you have to grind 10 sets of gear. Then do your first opr and get shit on by people in bis who say things like get gud. When it’s just a weapon exploit game and gear game. You will see.

Honestly I would imagine, Riot MMO combat will be more like this.
Sticking to their abilities on QWER type beat, since they also used that for Valorant.
I think they will remove the need to have many many skills and focus on combat like New World.
I don't think it will be. Historically MMO's like that do not perform well.
@@imreallynothappy I understand that but the crowd for Riot MMOs would not be your usual crowd. For example most the crowd for CSGO is not the Valorant crowd. Riot has their own fan base and they a different breed. They prefer the simplistic games based off QWER, with anime type F2P gameplay with a bunch of cosmetics to buy. Easy to get into hard to master. Probably a huge focus on the social aspect too. The truth is the game is set up to succeed because of the team behind it and the crowd behind Riot. A lot of people compare it to early blizzard but I think the fan base is much stronger.
@@mughira5526 I'm not comparing it to anyone, but I can promise you it won't be set up that way. The majority of the people who are going to play the game and stick with it are going to be people who enjoy MMORPG's. It's not going to revolutionize it with QWER mechanics akin to a mobile game, or it won't survive.
I quit because one, there really isn't much of an endgame. It's pretty much all dungeons you've done before, but on harder difficulty. And two, the progression for "endgame" is ass. It's basically a gear score system with a stupid addition. You have to grind to level up just to have the ability to have better gear score. So, for example, you could have 600 gear and not be able to use it. Some real time wasting mechanics, not fulfilling.
Then it just becomes about pvp at that point and that can get stale quick.

One of the best games I've ever played but my god it needs an update sooner rather than later to get new people playing again. The game needs more variety as well. There's probably something huge brewing in development right now but it needs something rn, even a world event

The game has a flawed concept, you can't build something good if you have no or very bad foundations. Starting from the engine they're using to the actual basic game concept of RNG rolls for gear, drops, crafting and loot. Over 90% of people who reached end game (POST LAUNCH DISASTER) left the game including majority of my company on Abaton. You're clueless unfortunately. But keep the hope-cope train going, it feeds Asmond's content.

Basically, after 250 hours I can honestly say, it's a good game, been playing for a while since september 2022, stopped playing in january 2023, unlocked all mutations to lvl6(with genesis to 10), got my main gear to 625, did the winter event which was nice and did some pvp, if youi want to complete all expeditions to lvl 10 mutations you need much more time to get specific gear or buy it, especially if you want to clear it with gold at mut lvl 10. Myabe this msg will clear some minds about the end game in NW.

Man, I have been attempting to get back into WoW for months now. I left during Cata. I had a ton of fun at first...but now...idk. DF has been a let-down so far. So I am MMO shopping again. Keep up the great content!

@TannerDunning , not yet. I've got some single-player rpg's I'm having fun with...old and new. The Trading Post seemed like a nice addition; however, I can easily see it transforming into a new Store similar to ESO'S Crown Store. ESO used a reverse model, with Crowns first, then added the ability to collect reward points through objectives. Not that that's my biggest issue though. So far though...nothing has really jumped out at me. My primary complaint with the entire industry echoes a lot of what Asmon talks about with Diablo Mobile. Why make a AAA game when I can monetize subpar graphics (Sega Genesis? 🤣) and people will just gobble it up and spend insane amounts of money on upgrade materials 🤷♂️ I feel like I'm in MMO Limbo 😩🤣

@@TannerDunning I have stumbled upon a MMO called Pax Dei. Developers seem very promising, no signs of big PR bullshit/P2W crap. Alpha about to come out soon (after 4 years of heartful development!). It is open world/sandbox with a completely player-driven economy where everyone should be able to find their role in this world as it seems. You can build your home, alone, with friends, even start a clan and compete with other clans for resources. It is a PvX game. So a big zone where its PvE (but as it seems not much variety of resources) and a bigggg chunk of "unsave" land, where you will probably be pushed to go once you get to more end-level stuff. The deeper you go into these uncharted lands, the more dangerous/rewarding the creatures you encounter become. Probably gonna have dungeon like stuff as well as it seems from the trailer, although not confirmed yet. I personally have rarely been so hyped for an upcoming MMO. Def. worth checking out.

The biggest problem I have with New World is that the content isn't actually that bad, but acquiring and maintaining the gear for the high levels of that content is painfully dreadful.
Gear sets 100% need to be in the game. Trying to go out and herb or do a Genesis with the appropriate gear is hard enough having to farm rare mobs or spend tens of thousands of gold on the AH. But trying to find that exact piece of gear in your inventory for that exact content is terrible. It makes me not want to go out in the world and gather. It makes me not want to do dungeons if I have to fish for gear in my inventory every time. Being able to create gear sets and summon the appropriate gear for the appropriate content with one click would be amazing.
Because the content really isn't that bad. The combat does feel satisfying. The only drawback is that older MMOs just have more content and systems on New World. When they start pumping out more great content and provide the necessary systems for supporting that content, I think New World will rise.
I wouldn't call it 1200 players online "pretty good", it's closest to a graveyard than anything else.

Guys i played 1000 hours in 3 months and Im gonna be honest. The combat system is the best i've seen and far better from Wow (im mentioning wow cuz it's the only mmo ive played) . The game is like a combination of mmorpg with Diablo 3.
But the game feels weak most of the times. Countless things not working, lack of constant updates, lack of balance. AGS department of new world looks to me very understaffed and like they have no resources. They want to, but they can't . So i'm not sure for how long this will keep going

I quit playing when I realized I couldn’t run a dungeon. I just don’t get it. Why is it so hard and confusing just to play with people?
I came back to this game a few month ago, it has improved since lanch for sure. But for me what I've noticed is that when you play massive pvp-raids its all just a big clusterfuck and my computer cant catch up with the mess. I hate it so much cause I really think the pvp in new world is really good and it was the pvp that I've looked forward to to play when I reached max lvl.. but if its laggy as hell what is the point.. I have never played arena but I bet that runs much smoother cause its only 2v2 and 3v3? But those huge raids I can just forget cause its just too laggy... Also all dungeons runs smoothly and are quite fun to play.

It wont happen. MMOs are a dying breed. And they take too much time. MMOs cant attract the casuals for long for the most part. And New World isnt on console.

The #1 thing they are missing in New World is....... Special armor and weapon drops with their own special look. They need to mimic WoW gear system.
I keep playing as I have no other game to go to . But it's a good game to chill in.
Maybe it's just me but I'm addicted to NW and I wish more people played but the fact it's PC exclusive right now makes it hard for me to introduce my friends to it, I'd literally buy the game for my friends just for them to try it. Whether you like dungeons, crafting, music, farming resources, PvP is a little dry mostly cause it's just OPR and 3v3's. People doing territory have been doing that since release and it's overwhelming for new players to get into but it's still content that's available and they are always doing it. Yeah it might die out again if the content keeps slowing down but I'm still gonna play tf out of it!
The game is definately different since launch, loadouts are now a thing among some other qol additions + roadmap but the experience is still the exact same.
They need to majorly overhaul a ton of systems, the end game is just the same loop and is genuinely just unfun after the first few m10s and it gets stale very, very quickly.
Hopefully the releases and changes they make in the upcoming future will bring it back but untill then I wouldn't hold my breath for it.
They could use some higher level crafting quests and some solo dungeons
AGS is doing a great job! Look at all the amazing games they have been involved with.

New world just doesnt have any content that holds player retention. PvP is entirely neglected. PvE has no rewarding feeling since all gear can be bought on the marketplace. This game is rapidly dying because AGS are terrible at prioritizing.
the running animation with the greatsword is the same as Kwang from Paragon
NewWorld feels almost like Diablo... not quite. I feel there's not enough variety of models and creatures.

The problem with NW is that you just log in, do a world tour in a crowd of 100 people destroying content, then log out
Problem is this game has not any interesting fantasy or world behind it like WoW and other MMOs have to keep interested in playing it.

@@vanilla7767 I haven’t hit a wall after 3k hours yet. Unless you have full bis gear for every class in pvp and pve, participate in wars, oprs, leaderboards, housing and crafting there is no wall. After lvl 60 625 the game is just beginning

There is an easy way to cheese the sirens fury with a ranger weapon. Can farm it every 5 seconds ish and it’s only have 3700 health.

this game just seems so souless, i keep wanting to play it and have fun with it but there's nothing of substance to even keep me wanting to continue.
The game's population is shrinking pre-Brimstone levels already and the roadmap for 2024 is terrible. Still as grindy and boring as last year.
I don't think it's going to happen, but more ESO streams would really please me. the ones that already exist were very good.

I'm pretty sure Asmon said he didn't enjoy ESO and won't play it. Plus, ESO combat is so awful.
@@jeremyroberts8822 Oh, it's worth it. Don't think too much about the amount of content, they'll always release more anyway... just play at your own pace. This infinity of things to see and do gives you the feeling of really being in a living world. Of course: The combat is not the most polished among MMOs, as the guys said there, for many people that's the end of the story, but for me it has been the perfect Elder Scrolls life simulator. Just play through the expansions' main stories in release order. Except Greymoor, which doesn't intersect much with the rest of the stories... and the sidequests are also pretty self-contained stories.
@@jeremyroberts8822 eso is like playing an elder scrolls game but multiplayer. dont worry about being behind, just enjoy the game for what it is. its a great elder scrolls game and the elderscrolls universe is one of the most interesting in gaming, more interesting than warcraft lore.

My opinion, if they could bring bdo combat fluidity and add more skills I am all in.
What bdo lacks, New world have and what new world lacks, bdo has it.
Take bdo node system, workers system and combat, take real time events around map that gears war 2 have and put it on new world, add some more diversity in terms of ecology and monster then you'll have a masterpiece of an MMO
I bought new world at christmas sale (lol only played 42 hours thought i played more tbh) got to level 51-52 and it became too much of a daunting grind for me to get to 60 and see the rest of the game, especially as a solo player. I 100% enjoyed it and intend to play more. I think not treating it strictly as an mmo has its benefits because of the playstyle it has, although it does have its shortcomings.
get to lv 60 and you unlock so much content, follow the main quest!

Asmon makes it seem like a running simulator and a dead game because of the way he plays the game in this video. You wouldn’t normally run between low level zones like from Windsward to Monarchs unless you’re doing starter quests. And he’s running around in Brimstone with no specific goals other than to kill and skin scorpions and some corrupted breaches. Usually you would fast travel between shrines and towns, recall to inn, recall to houses and and have goals that makes the game less of a running simulator.

Aand the thing about this game is that u dont get behind so fast.. ur item is still valid if ur 600gs atleast, so u can hop-on pretty quickly
Yep gearscore only really matters for expedition modifiers. Once you're in the mid 500s level 60 you're pretty much chilling
