Haven’t seen anyone mentioning it, but the flametal towers come back after they sink, and you can keep mining them. I put up a portal nearby, and by the time i returned after teleporting the ore to my base, the flametal tower was back.
you're correct. Apparently that is a bug currently that the flametal will respawn if portalling or dying but the intent by the developers is for them not to respawn so you expect that when it formally launches
@@SpazzyjonesGaming I thought maybe it was on purpose, as a way of making it just a little bit of a challenge to mine it, especially if it is deep within the lava. And that it would make some sense that it would return to the surface when nothing is pushing in it or some kind of logic like that
I heard from another video that the flametal pillars will be on a timer from the first pickaxe swing and not random chance of starting the sinking, hope this helps someone.
@@SpazzyjonesGaming well, for leviathans it work like this too. For both, at every pickaxe strike there is a chance for it to start up the timer before sinking.

@@itsssnek810 What do you mean by "can't be used as tools"? I use them for chopping trees all the time. They're quicker than the black metal axe, but the durability is a bit low.
well 1 thing i dislike about it you cant upgrade old weapon's to be on the new weapon tier. i truly don't under stand that since the game only has one more update left untill there done with the game . kind ahard to put alot of focus into it
the tipp whit the blackmetal axe is WRONG. the dual wilding axes introduced in ashlands counts as an axe and can be used to fell trees. much faster than whit a blackmetal axe.
Because the feather cape had too many upsides with no downside before. Now its weak to fire and no longer grants cold resistance, this is a great change.
Wolf armor chest piece does grant frost resistance and that is just fine for use in the mountains. This change may have more to do with the upcoming North Lands.
No jotun bane is a junk at tree cutting..! It costs you more stamina to swing, and part of the damages are wasted in poison damages which does not help to cul wood. So overall the blackmetal are does equal if not more damages for less stamina to cut trees..!
@@DanLo-tube after writing my initial comment, i used both and compared both, while your logic sounds like it makes sense, in actual gameplay the jotun bane yielded me more wood on average in 30 minutes than the blackmetal axe. the stamina difference is not enough to justify sticking to the blackmetal axe, also the poison damage is irrelevant to wood cutting, jotun bane does more damage to trees
@@adnjazz The maths says it's more complicated than that ^^ The advantage of the BM Axe at this point of the game is that you have it level 4, while Jotun Ban is just level 3. At this state, the ratio of stomp damage per stamina is respectively : - 4.92 (3.69 heavy strike) for BM axe level 4 - 4.75 (3.56 heavy strike) for Jotun Bane level 3 => BM axe is slightly better, even more that at equivalent ratio, the less stamina per strike it costs, the more chance there is to be able to do more consecutive strikes for a full stamina bar. Only when you manage to get the black forge to level 4 with flametal, then Jotun Bane ratio goes to 4.96 (3.70 for heavy strike) and becomes slightly more interesting. So unfortunately this does not seems to be worth it in my opinion. :) (for the poison damages, I was just talking about these because it seems like they decided to make this axe not that powerful on base damages, but to be compensated with poison damages.. which as you mentioned are useless to cut trees. => typically, slash damages are lower than on the bm axe..! :o )
You're making these vids as if all these things are final.its only the ptr. Hopefully they come to their senses and give feather cape cold resist again.
6:41 This isn't correct anymore as the Ask armour has a set bonus now which decreases Run, Jump and Attack stamina usage as well as buffing Peirce damage.

my tip is flametal for the ashlands for SURE lol but the Ask set does have no movement speed penalty so I can imagine ways to use it even just for fun lol plus it has a decent amount of armor to boot
just off the top of my head the ask set could be really good for going to the earlier biomes to farm resources like wood and ETC I have several hundred hours in valheim lol and I don't know everything but I love learning what I can
another tip I learned the hard way don't try to farm the flametal ore from the old ashlands biome you cannot use it in the new public test my friend and I tried that before looking into it and no it doesn't work lol don't waste your time 🤦♂
I don't understand why anybody would need a third party host for valheim. I host the a server that me and 4 friends play on and we've never had a problem.
Totally fair! Do you have a dedicated PC setup that you use for hosting the server? The problem with valheims posted servers is that they are dependent on the host being online for others to play so thats the benefit. However, if you have your own personal server hosting, by all means use that!
the thing is like Spazzy said, you need to be online, and especially when you play with big group of friends, you prefer play with everyone so they wont skip something important (ik that from experience), those hosts propably helps a lot with it tho i havent used them
Do you actually host a Dedicated Server or just host the server than no one can play without you being online. Third Party Hosts mean that the Server stays on all the time unless you tell it to shutoff at times. So all the players can log in when ever and dont have to be reliant on when a host is online or not
Why do people keep saying that you can only have 1 crafted Dyrnwyn sword per server? I have 3 on mine and I've never touched dev console commands... Only played legit and I have 3.
How so? My understanding is each dyrnwyn requires one of the 3 fragments and you can only find 1 at each of the 3 mysterious locations. Do you have increased resource drop rate? That might give you more than one fragment when you pick it up

Berserkir axes are weapons primarily. Not tools. They cant be utilzied as tools. But they only use 1 axe when wood chopping compared to combat utilizing both axes.
@@itsssnek810 What do you mean by "can't be used as tools"? I use them for chopping trees all the time. They're quicker than the black metal axe, but the durability is a bit low.
@@itsssnek810 interesting. good to know!
well 1 thing i dislike about it you cant upgrade old weapon's to be on the new weapon tier. i truly don't under stand that since the game only has one more update left untill there done with the game . kind ahard to put alot of focus into it
that is disappointing
Can a stone portal be connected to a wood portal?
Yes, but you can only enter the stone portal with metal and ore. You'll need a stone portal on both ends to move those materials both ways.
sure can as long as the names match
Shirley is spot on!
15# thats wrong, Jotun Bane is the best tool for wood.
Yeah you're right. Jotun bane does slightly more chop. My mistake, I dont consider Jotun bane a tool really
the tipp whit the blackmetal axe is WRONG.
the dual wilding axes introduced in ashlands counts as an axe and can be used to fell trees. much faster than whit a blackmetal axe.
you are correct! I never thought of the berzerkir. I just thought of them as weapons. My B
Feather cape not imune to frost is such a shame. I'm in love with my Feather cape. Why doing this?
i think because they want other capes to also be viable
Because the feather cape had too many upsides with no downside before. Now its weak to fire and no longer grants cold resistance, this is a great change.
Wolf armor chest piece does grant frost resistance and that is just fine for use in the mountains. This change may have more to do with the upcoming North Lands.
They changed it to have cold resistance again it seems, because my cloak still has it. It is still very weak to fire though
Wild that you're flaunting using a pirated version of windows.
Yep that's what I'm doing. Flaunting it
Only one Dyrnwyn(new sword) can be crafted per server? I didn't know that.
Yeah there are only 1 of each of the fragments that can be found. So the materials for it are unique
@@SpazzyjonesGaming They should def add more "Unique" weapons, would love 1 per weapon type.
@@vincentdeluca4485 its a pretty cool concept. Its nice having chase items like this
Is the update out already??
Just in the public test branch at the moment (working out the bugs) I expect we will see the real release in the coming couple weeks
jotun bane is better than blackmetal axe im pretty sure
yeah so are the new axes. I just think of them as weapons not tools but yeah, jotun bane is still better for tree cutting
No jotun bane is a junk at tree cutting..!
It costs you more stamina to swing, and part of the damages are wasted in poison damages which does not help to cul wood. So overall the blackmetal are does equal if not more damages for less stamina to cut trees..!
@@DanLo-tube im happy to hear this. Jotune bane shouldn't be for chopping trees
@@adnjazz The maths says it's more complicated than that ^^
The advantage of the BM Axe at this point of the game is that you have it level 4, while Jotun Ban is just level 3.
At this state, the ratio of stomp damage per stamina is respectively :
- 4.92 (3.69 heavy strike) for BM axe level 4
- 4.75 (3.56 heavy strike) for Jotun Bane level 3
=> BM axe is slightly better, even more that at equivalent ratio, the less stamina per strike it costs, the more chance there is to be able to do more consecutive strikes for a full stamina bar.
Only when you manage to get the black forge to level 4 with flametal, then Jotun Bane ratio goes to 4.96 (3.70 for heavy strike) and becomes slightly more interesting.
So unfortunately this does not seems to be worth it in my opinion. :)
(for the poison damages, I was just talking about these because it seems like they decided to make this axe not that powerful on base damages, but to be compensated with poison damages.. which as you mentioned are useless to cut trees. => typically, slash damages are lower than on the bm axe..! :o )
Wait, when did it come out
Its only in the public test branch now as they work towards resolving bugs. once those are resolved it will have it full launch. Should be soon!
Makes no sense to remove cold resist from feather cape. Its bad enough they made it VERY weak to fire. Very annoying and dissapointing.
I think they're just trying to balance them so you have to use more of the cakes rather than only one being viable
would make more sense if the flametal armor gave 100% heat resist, as is its pointless to me
I agree. the heat resistance is completely pointless as it works now
You're making these vids as if all these things are final.its only the ptr. Hopefully they come to their senses and give feather cape cold resist again.
You are correct. I would be very surprised if they made and major changes but they may
Hopefully they wont. the feather cape had to many upsides and no downsides.

thank you

I refuse to activate it :p
haha catapult and feather cape:9
hilarious isn't it
6:41 This isn't correct anymore as the Ask armour has a set bonus now which decreases Run, Jump and Attack stamina usage as well as buffing Peirce damage.
yep! its WAY better now. its my preffered set when not spellcasting
Favourite Ashlands weapon and element to add?
Either the Mace or berzerkier axes and give me the lightning
Bro how you don't own a windows key. Anyways awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm practically refusing to do it at this point as a meme
use catapult with bomb on the flame metal ore to help mine it easier and some times you can hit all of them start from the top less chance of it going away faster
I have heard the catapult isn't great for it. It doesn't attack fast enough is my understanding
I hate it when people put out these abysmal low hanging fruit titles for videos. What's next, TOP TEN THINGS TO DO BEFORE ASHLANDS. YOU WON'T BELIEVE #3.
Stop it.

It’s sad nothing could be built on lava just imagine a wolf farm where you just break the floor and you’ll have cooked wolf meat just like that 😋🤤
That would be excellent wouldn't it! crying shame
You can build flammetal columns and beams in the lava now and they won't burn.

It kind of sucks that you have to beat the final boss to get the sword. Most people will be done playing after that
to be clear, it is the mini-boss you have to beat for the sword. The main boss of the biome is independent of getting the sword
2:41 - No jotun bane?
That's a good question. I always think of the Jotune bane as a weapon not a tool but you surely could use it for chopping trees too no doubt!
@@SpazzyjonesGaming You can also use the new berserker axes to cut down trees
@@tyburkulosis8799 true! i just think of them as weapons only for whatever reason
No new tools? Sir what do you call those axes then cause they're a tool as you just mentioned by saying axe. Plus way better than the other axes at their jobs both sides.
You know what a mean though right? Sure you can use those axes to chop trees but we all know those axes weren't included in the game to be primarily used in chopping trees. They are weapons first and tools second.
@@SpazzyjonesGaming unfortunately for me just another tool that's better than the rest my swords amazing no need for them. 7:15 doesn't work
It got patched yesterday :(
What tips did I miss!?
Make sure you get 30% off your first month of server hosting with DatHost! dathost.net/r/spazzygames/valheim-server-hosting
my tip is flametal for the ashlands for SURE lol but the Ask set does have no movement speed penalty so I can imagine ways to use it even just for fun lol plus it has a decent amount of armor to boot
just off the top of my head the ask set could be really good for going to the earlier biomes to farm resources like wood and ETC I have several hundred hours in valheim lol and I don't know everything but I love learning what I can
another tip I learned the hard way don't try to farm the flametal ore from the old ashlands biome you cannot use it in the new public test my friend and I tried that before looking into it and no it doesn't work lol don't waste your time 🤦♂
@@BriceDewitt-zu2sr i would just pick the fenris over Ask though fore previous biomes

I need someone to play valheim with. if you're interested please write me
check out out community discord!
However, if you have your own personal server hosting, by all means use that!
the thing is like Spazzy said, you need to be online, and especially when you play with big group of friends, you prefer play with everyone so they wont skip something important (ik that from experience), those hosts propably helps a lot with it tho i havent used them
@@novy1198 exactly
Do you actually host a Dedicated Server or just host the server than no one can play without you being online.
Third Party Hosts mean that the Server stays on all the time unless you tell it to shutoff at times. So all the players can log in when ever and dont have to be reliant on when a host is online or not
hell yes

Why do people keep saying that you can only have 1 crafted Dyrnwyn sword per server? I have 3 on mine and I've never touched dev console commands... Only played legit and I have 3.
How so? My understanding is each dyrnwyn requires one of the 3 fragments and you can only find 1 at each of the 3 mysterious locations. Do you have increased resource drop rate? That might give you more than one fragment when you pick it up
@@SpazzyjonesGamingYep, increased resources, so I got 3 pieces of each part when I looted each piece location. So I can make 3 on my server.
