I once had a La Strada V4 Carat. Built on a SWB Sprinter chassis. It had a decent shower/toilet area, plenty of food prep area and storage space. The only shortcoming was the bed. It was a two seat fold out unit. I used to leave it folded out permanently. This made a lounging area for day use and a very decent wide single at night.
Hi Alan. Glad to see these vans. I must admit that my use of my mini van would not be conducive to carrying stolen paintings. Thanks for your analysis of these vans. All’s fine on the western front. John
I agree that the smallest van conversions are probably a better way to go for many than converted cars. However each has their own very good reasons for their choice of course. With those small van conversions in the video you can put a bicycle or two in the back door I think. I don't think you'd be able to sleep in the van with the bicycle there, you'd have to put it outside, however it is still very useful to be able to travel with the bike inside. Many people have expensive bicycles and e-bikes these days and they don't want them outside. If you park in a city and go for a walk then the bike is at risk on the back, it is better to have it inside.
@@terrycathrine Luckily they're not. Don't waste your money on a Challenger/Chausson, they're well specced vans with clever ideas but very poorly built.
The shortest vans are very nice indeed. Would be nicer with a cassette toilet sliding out the cargo area. the 6 meters are almost perfect. Almost... A bigger frigde in lieu of the under counter wardrobe would be nicer - you can do bigger cabinets in the bed area if you have not double beds, i think...
@@gooble69 actually, not at all. For my wife the bed was a big questionmark as she is somewhat claustrofobic, but thanks to the windows on the side and the Heki above it is not an issue. Climbing up and down takes a bit of getting used to, but not an issue for us at all, I’m 58 and 6 foot 1. Our previous van, a 7,5 meter Beni, also required a bit of climbing to the twin beds over the garage. We now enjoy the fact that we can park anywhere and actually use the car a lot more than we did the Beni. Have to say that we did take the 180hp and 9 speed automatic, which also makes it a nimble and quick machine as compared to te larger and heavier 150hp, 6 speed automatic Beni. All in all, we are very happy with the change.
I think the Wingamm Oasis 540 is the best very small motorhome available. It costs a lot more than those but it is such a great design. Well worth a look and saving up for that! Wingamm have a new web-site which is good because the old one was crap.
Alan, please don't skip the bathrooms, the prices, the payload capacity, and fridge. All essential. We also need to know if solar is included. fyi - We cannot read that sheet. You do a lot of van tours, but they leave a lot to be desired. It takes less than 1 minute to cover the areas I asked for. Please do a better job.
I was not aware I skipped the bathrooms. I always say the price when I know it as well as the payload. As for the fridge, I get sarcastic comments about opening them all the time. As for solar, it is almost never included unless I say otherwise.
Dove comprarne uno. Non l'ho trovato in Ungheria? Wo kann man einen kaufen? Ich habe es in Ungarn nicht gefunden.? Where to buy one. I didn't find it in Hungary?
If you can sleep in it then it works :) On that, what is the length of the bed? From memory these vans are something like 185cm wide inside, which makes it a squeeze for us tall people

Thank you for showing camper vans. 🙏

Is this van available for sale in the UK?

Alan, I love your videos but please please open up cupboards and draws to give us a better idea of what's available. PLEASE.
I like the bunk bed versions. That could work for us.

This is perfect for travelers who don't spend the 40 kg. I am 110 kg, I can't see myself in this tiny toilet!
Sorry Allan, we own a possl vario 499... a fiat ducato under 5 meter. And we have everything in it, not basic at all....
How do find the climb up into bed every night? I was wondering if that would get annoying after a while?

First time I saw a the Oasis 540 I was ready to buy one on the spot. Then I saw the price 😲
€90k!!!

Non so dove comprare in Ungheria ma ci sono molti rivenditori di camper in Austria!
@@VanlifewithAlan Ciao, ho visitato siti Web austriaci, tedeschi e olandesi ma non sono riuscito a trovarli.
There’s no glut of campers and motorhomes yet…..!
How does veneer wood walls work in a shower room? Surely dampness would get better of it over time?
Would a 190cm bed fit across the van??
Possibly.
Where do they sell them ? Do you know ? I have not seen any in the shops in Spain yet.
Maybe they don't have dealerships in Spain. You could try Benimar which is basically the same thing, same owner too!
An example of the Benimar: www.dicar.be/mobilhome/nieuw/benimar-benivan-104-up/
Дааа,цены шоколад...До нас доедет,с растоможкой ппц ценник будет((
С налогами на импорт, а возможно, и с акцизами в России цена будет намного выше.
The Wingamm Oasi 5.40 is the same size, and it's not a tomato can, but has an insulated fiberglass shell
But has a drop down bed. Not everyone want that.
"Stolen paintings", LOL!
I don't get it, what is the point to have this little thing,?
