Ruger had to make it heavy and strong because its made for sustained +P ammo, not just limited use like other handguns, they gave the go on the bold statement of constant +P rated wich makes its nice because ruger stands behind their word and when they are wrong they always admit it and make things right, +P in 45 gives the comon 45 round at least 75 ft/lbs gain but as much as well over 100 wich is one hell of punch so ruger doesnt stop you from getting the most power out of it, do that to a rock island 45 1911 and may have a blow out, a underwood 185 grain +P jhp is nasty and very explosive, riding the fence just shy of 600 ft/lbs in a 5 inch barrel
I bought one, picking it up tomorrow! Gun store I bought it from didn't even know they existed, so, needless to say, mine was bought sight unseen. Can't wait to get it in my hand!
I bought the Ruger Compact pro model in 45acp early this year. At first I didn't care for the weight of it, but I got used to it over time. It does shoot Freedom Munition and Remington ammo very well without any problems. I have probably close to 1k rounds through it. The trigger pull has gotten a little better since it was bought new. The only thing I wish Ruger would come out with is a fix for the reset after firing. It takes like a half inch for the reset to occur. Other than that it is a great pistol that you don't have to worry about something going wrong with it if you use it as your edc. I think ruger should come out with a Gen 2 version with a little less weight and a better reset on the trigger, I know I would buy it in the 9mm version.
Just got one yesterday. The gray model in .45. Paid 563.12 for it and didn't get the 3 mags that's supposed to come with it. Also 1 of the mags is messed up. Also it makes a nosie which I think is coming from the striker area, and if you press check it the slide sometimes has to be pushed into battery because it doesn't go all the way forward. All my other plastic guns like my FNH, glocks and others have never given me any issues. This is the 2nd ruger striker fired gun that I've had problems with. Had to send the other one back 3 times before they fixed it than I sold it asap because I would never trust it. That was the SR 45.
RAP 45 Compact, very cool. I have the full size RAP 45 and I really like it. I want to try out the compact and will probably just buy one. Now take it out and shoot it!
Ruger's slide is casted not forged and needs to be thicker to be similar in strength than forged and is slightly heavier. Thing about investment casting the metal is prone to internal defects and it must be inspected.
Was looking at one of those today actually. I'm really undecided on it, it just to me anyway seemed a little "blocky" guess after carrying a 1911 for 25 years as a EDC , the others just feel different. Nice vid, I guess I'll have to look at it again.
I got the cerakot gray model and it came with 3 7round mags and 2 grip modules and no mag loader, but somebody told me that with the .45 you cant get a small grip module, only on the 9mm they said, then i seen another video where the dude said he had all 3 modules for his, id really like to have the small grip module if it does fit
i know its late but dp yopu still have the pistol did you ever carry it thinkling about buying one they have have one brand new 329 at my lgs let me know
GunCollector007 I can't wait to shoot it I'm sure with the added weight the recoil will prolly be tamed a lot I got it for 350 shipped off sportsman warehouse
+Channel Cat Chaser I agree I grabbed it for 350 and I think it'll make a good bag gun and prollynfun at the range but the slide is way to long for a compact and it's a brick thanks for watching brotha
I love my ruger American compact in 45. It shoots great, nice sights, great to carry.

I received the Ruger American Pistol 45 acp Pro Duty model as a gift. I liked it so much I went out and got the compact 45 acp Pro model.
Thanks for being so current and up to date. Looks like a great pistol. And yes, we like firing w/o a mag.
Definitely has a different look to it and the weight wow!
RAP 45 Compact, very cool. I have the full size RAP 45 and I really like it. I want to try out the compact and will probably just buy one. Now take it out and shoot it!
Only two once’s lighter than my gp100, this is definitely my next buy! Love it!
Love this gun. eats every factory and reload I have thrown in it.
I love mine to but it will not semiwadcutters
I was surprised at the weight of the 9mm when I picked up, felt good though

I like the Looks! Can't wait for the Range Vid!
Sorry your camera-work makes me seasick! I think you bought the right version in the right calibre, though! Good choice...... Pete.
That thing is CHUNKY. With the rail I'd pop a light on and use it for home defense and maybe owb carry in the really cold jacket months.

Very cool lil gun!! Looks good!!

That's a really good price, especially if it runs good which I'm sure it will:)
I have the full size and I love it.
www.cdnnsports.com has it for $299.00 and the acp .45 is $289.00 both are the Pro models.
Good info and vid as cool pistol and it does seem to have some heft for a compact as thanks for the info...Good stuff...
I like Rugers a lot, but I would have probably picked the Glock 30s instead. Rugers are usually over built and that's why they are heavy.
i know its late but dp yopu still have the pistol did you ever carry it thinkling about buying one they have have one brand new 329 at my lgs let me know
congrats on the new gun!
Hard to beat that price.
Whatever happened with this gun?
That is a good price.
The Ruger has an over all length of 7.25" .
Good Stuff Brother & Enjoy It! Carry On!
Dang man that is a good deal!
love 45’s
That's on my list!
GunCollector007 I can't wait to shoot it I'm sure with the added weight the recoil will prolly be tamed a lot I got it for 350 shipped off sportsman warehouse
awsome bro
Free Movies
I like Ruger but the G30S weighs less and holds more rounds.
Nice!
She is beefy!
nice gun buddy. I've got the itch for a new gun.
+Joes World shot it and love it. My wife handled the 45 with no problems smooth as butter
Yea a deal i paid 479.00 for mine
Seems to be a decent pistol, but pretty heavy and big for a "compact". I think there are a few better alternatives.
I not a fan of the name ,looks or the weight of the new Rugers. I don't like the 1'' plus of slide hanging over the grip. Sorry
+Channel Cat Chaser I agree I grabbed it for 350 and I think it'll make a good bag gun and prollynfun at the range but the slide is way to long for a compact and it's a brick thanks for watching brotha
MuzzleBlast always watching your stuff man
Jesus Loves You
Muddybagclean amen and I love him

Jiheem Vohor then use the 10 round mag it comes with lol...
You only need 7 otherwise you need to go practice
