This channel is something absolutely outstanding. Interviews with so many legends of Trance and Electronic music, JMJ, Thrillseekers, Sash!, Push,G&D. Stories behind the greatest classics ever. Can't wait for upcoming videos with Solarstone and Chicane. I'm sure that you have plans for future videos, but just suggesting - I'd dream of hearing stories about Above&Beyond beginnings&classics(Home, Madonna's track remix) and how Oceanlab project, which gave them status of Legends was brought to life. Also Svenson&Gielen did much for Trance music ;) Great job Twan, please keep doing it! Your channel deserves much more subs and Trance music lovers as this content is really awesome. Thanks!
Thank you Tomasz! Got some more ideas in the pipeline, hope more people find my videos and enjoy them. The more subscribers, the more chances of getting other big names as well hehe... But I'm super, super happy that Jean-Michel and his team allowed me to talk to him. Got another big trance name confirmed in the next few weeks, stay tuned ;-) Thanks again!
The biggest pioneer of electronic music, and from my country! Amazing to know that he likes bladerunner so much and its music, same for me, makes lot of sense.
I was lucky enough to be introduced to Jean-Michel Jarre and "Oxigen" when I was 7. My father used to like to show off his vinyl collection and Oxigen must have been in his top 5 favorits. I count myself blessed for it!
Such a pleasure! Thank You indeed Twan for doing this! JMJ is so full of passion - one of the musicians that would love to listen (both talk and music )for ages!!!
Thank you Muzik Express 👏👏👏I'm a great fan of Jean Michel Jarre😇🙌🙌🙌🙌 I Still play Oxygen 8 😉he is a Legendary Maestro of music😊I like this interview 🙌😇🙌😇🙌Thank you 👏👍😉
Your channel and your interviews are great. You don't get the chance to interview a music god like Jean Michel everyday. Fantastic job and keep it up man!.
Thank you so much! I never would have thought I would ever be able to interview Jean-Michel Jarre! He was so nice and humble, I was super nervous at first, but after a few minutes all was good :) Glad you enjoy the channel, thank you!!!
WOW! You have outdone yourself Twan. GREAT interview with one of the masters.. all i can say is thank you! Listening to Jean-Michel, his honesty and renewed passion was inspiring! Your channel will be huge. It's only a matter of time. :)
very intresting to hear that he will work on Electronica 3 - for sure one of the most exiting projects of the latest years. Hope he will cooperate with Kraftwerk, Vangelis, OMD, Depeche Mode and others
Vangelis, kraftwerk, Klaus Shulze, Ennio Morricone, Kitaro, John Dyson, Eric Van Der Heijden, Alain Maratrat, Yanni , René Aubry, Ron Boots, David Arkenstone, Karl Jenkins, Ronan Hardiman and last but not least: the great ERIC SNELDERS!!!!!Hi!!!!
+Lorenzo Nasato Right...let's add: FSOL, Sabres of Paradise, The Black Dog, Autechre, Aphex Twin, Steve Roach, Johan Timman, Yukihiro Takahashi/Ryuichi Sakamoto/Hosono: YMO and Logic System, Schiller, Eroc, Claudia Brücken, Björk, Wibi Soerjadi, André Rieu, Art of Noise/J.J Jeczalik and Anne Dudley, Serge Blenner, Tori Amos, Kebu, loads of names of Ultimae Records...and finally Jean Michel inviting 'himself' to shape some pieces of heaven!
what a legend, i hope you do more interviews with him in future with more questions, 👌 It's very pleasant to listen to him 😍 absolutely one of the best interviews in this channel, thank you for this great video🙌
Thank you so much Twan for this super interesting interview!! I'd be honest mate, if I were you I'd shaking like a leaf.. he's such a legend and done so much for electronic music. Was it like a dream come true when he agreed to do an interview with you lol? And I absolutely loved his new album. I reckon the two best 2018 albums have to be Equinoxe Infinity and Neon by The Digital Blonde. Classics!
Haha thanks Bhavesh! I was already surprised when I got an email back from his management, never expected that tbh! Jean-Michel was super nice, a real gentleman and he really took the time to answer the questions of us. And yes, I was nervous for sure, but he was super down to earth, so I think after 1-2 minutes I felt comfortable hehe.... But yes, a dream come true for sure!
Interessant interview.
Did you pinch yourself before, meanwhile of after? :D Great interview! Through his work I discovered electronic music, being extra fascinated as a kid and actually calling it "space music"". Thank you!
Haha yeah I was super happy I was given the chance to do this, he was super nice and cool. What a legend! I also love that he still has a lot of future plans.
Thank you! Very happy with the result, the other 2 guys had great questions as well, so I decided to post the entire Q&A session. JM was super nice too.
Hij was echt zoooo relaxed, ik was zelf best zenuwachtig, maar wat een vriendelijke gast! Heel blij met deze vlog, uiteraard ook nog mijn "Oxygene" vinyl door de legende laten signeren ;-)
Im curious if there are covers of JMJs work which strip songs down to "natural" instruments liek acoustic guitar or grandpiano - I think that would be interesting = Yes I know The Shadows did an electric guitar version of one ogf his songs
Good interview only one criticism, although I'm a JMJ fan, but feel like there shouldn't be a background music, because it was making me loose my concentration, it was interfering with what's been discussed.
Thank you! And I always put music in the background for all my interviews. Usually I get comments that the background music should be louder actually so people can hear the song(s) that is / are being discussed in the interviews haha ;-) I know everybody has a different opinion and it is impossible to do it right for everyone, but I personally do prefer a bit of background music. I think in my more recent interviews the audio mix of speach / music is a lot better btw. Anyway, I'm glady you enjoyed the interview, it was a huge honor for me to talk to JMJ, such a humble guy! :)
@@muzikxpress Yes I did thanks for the upload! although its just over a 2 year old video, its always good to hear from JMJ. First time seeing this interview. If i was there, I would've asked him one question in regards to producing music using the old way, from an analogue instruments, and with a bit of digital integration, like a digital-analogue synthesis. And in regards to background music, i think its because i know the tracks already hearing them so many times thats why I couldn't concentrate on the words that's being said. But thanks again :)
@@antopsyco I had over 15 questions for him since the original idea was to get a personal one on one interview with him. On the day itself I heard that that wasn't going to happen anymore and that there would be other people as well with questions, so that's why this interview is different compared to my other interviews :) I'm still super happy I managed to speak to JMJ, but I obviously couldn't ask all my questions. JMJ isn't in The Netherlands often, so I'm very happy that I was still able to ask him a few questions. Usually I go more in depth about a certain track and ask about the inspiration, production etc etc. But I'm sure you'll understand :)
Oh now THAT would be pretty epic right? Never say never, but I don't think that will ever happen though, he hardly does interviews and I'm just a hobby-music-nerd-vlogger haha
Ja bizar he? Sinds ik deze vlog begonnen ben is het me wel opgevallen dat veel grote hits eerst bijna door (bijna) geen enkel label interessant gevonden werden. Zo ook "Haddaway - What Is Love". Dus platenmaatschappijen kunnen het ook gewoon (flink) mis hebben hehe ;-)
Thank you for the feedback. However, the music in my vlogs is always in the background, plus all spoken content is always way louder compared to the background music. So far you're the only one who's complaining about it tbh ;-) I hope you still enjoyed the interview!

Yeah Above & Beyond (Oceanlab) and Svenson & Gielen would be cool, Benno De Goeij maybe man there is so much to cover
Haha indeed, enough people I can (and want to) ask for the next few months. Just hope most will reply and say "yes". Fingers crossed ;-)
True living legend. Can't believe he is in his 70s.
And such a friendly / down to earth guy, he was so nice!
Aliens age at a different rate than humans!
I’m 26 and i’m in love with his music! He is a legend, and actually a man with big and kind heart
He was so down to earth, I was very nervous, but no need at all to be nervous tbh hehe
