I did not expect Toby to be able to read the room and act as a mediator. Great Dog.
I had a Akita mix who would bust into a dog fight full body slam to stop two dogs from fighting. He was amazingly the park referee. Animals know a lot more than we give credit for.
All canines have a de escalation protical hard wired in. Keeping the peace is a survival trait.
When my cat would go after my chickens and they squawked really loudly, my mini poodle would always go dashing straight at them, scattering all of them. :)
He's so young, too. He'll be a brilliant farm dog.
Violence is almost universal. Many animals understand what it is.
Toby running to the fence barking was fearsome. His bark says "Come on, make my day." Later I see Toby & Pablo at the fence and Toby's playful stance is heartwarming. I love watching that dog. 😍😍

Today, I learned that I had a lot in common with an outcast goose.
I also struggle to find my way out of an open door.

Toby is an amazing dog, you can clearly tell that he kept an eye on Bruce, when Bruce still was locked in that cage and after it. Toby and Pablo still are best buddies. The moral of this video: everybody should have a flock, herd or any other group to belong too, be nice to each other.
And, after a merciless struggle, Ron Swanson is unexpectibly the new king of goose.

See, that's the thing: when one animal has such an interesting story, the thought of raising them for future "harvest" becomes increasingly difficult. At least that's how i felt when I still had my duck flock. Ah, this vid brought back a lot of memories.

It's still amazing to me how livestock guardian dogs know which ones are livestock and which ones they are guarding the livestock from.
Love how Toby goes in between them to stop the fights.

Just watched this whole video and it brought tears to my eyes. These animals are beautiful, and it’s just amazing how they have their own different ways of socializing, as I feel like Bruce , never really “fit” in but had to work hard to feel accepted by people. Life is tough but if you ever want anything worth something,you got to work for it , hope anyone reading this who feels down finds their passion in life that makes them happy and to want to spread happiness like this video .

Woke up Sunday morning, snuggled up on the couch with the hubby and some coffee, and happened to watch this first. Had to tell you that we love your channel. Its like a modern day Charlotte's Web. Love the stories you tell about what is going on with the animals. Toby is my favorite.

Bruce is like I can take all of you -- I am from the Westside Farm set-- Toby is like "We are not going to have that East vs West on my farm!!
1) In my limited experience, introducing a new gander causes some feathers to fly. It’s temporary. They establish a pecking order and limit their squabbles to Springtime, when everyone is “testy.” 2) You were wise to keep Bruce under lock down. I had some re-homed geese and they immediately took off down the road trying to find their former home! Herded them up and kept them in a pen for a week and then they were ready to stay.
Constable Toby is really worried about animals under his protection and accepting new members very fast.
Man love this episode. Totally reminds me of my high school years as an outsider. Lol

Just adore Bruce! Looks like he is an American Buff. I Had a pair for years - George and Gracie, best parents ever. They adopted 3 orphaned Canadian geese and raised them well into adulthood. We live across from a large park with a pond, mother was killed on the road. No idea why dad wasn't watching them... It was pretty comical when those babies started flying! The parents and siblings were all HONKING, yelling at them "hey come back here we can't do that!" LOL. 9 years later one of the adopted geese still comes back to visit but my buffs since passed of old age.
I found myself holding my breath when you tried to let Bruce go in the first night loose.
It will be interesting when spring rolls around and breeding starts to see if that changes Bruce's standing in goose society.
Fascinating! Absolutely fascinating. I'm so interested in Brucey - and it was hard to see him being pecked at and bullied. I've started many new jobs in the admin area, so such behaviour isn't foreign to me. I'm glad Brucey settled in a little bit. Seeing our resident wolf Toby galloping up and down the fence-line borking and keeping everyone safe was also fascinating. It's always lovey to see the the town Sheriff Toby and Mayor Pablo having a quite moment together.

I wouldnt be surprised if *BRUCE* and *TOBY* became *BEST FRIENDS*... It not unheard of for geese to choose a friend outside of their species 💖 especially when they are rejected by other geese.
Congrats Bruce! Funny how the geese don't realize that even though he may not be the alpha-he will likely outlive a lot of them if he is being used for breeding. Lose the battle, win the war Bruce!
Happy to see Bruce the goose is being accepted into the flock, and it was extra special to see Toby watch out for him. You know how you always say RELEASE THE QUACKEN, maybe (not as clever), but RELEASE THE GEESE (just a thought) lol. Thanks for sharing Bruce and his introduction to his new family.

Last night I had a random thought, there wouldn't be so much build up to the goose release unless something messed up happened. My thought was the goose died. Hopefully from the title it just got knocked around a bit.

Hi Morgan, funny thing, my name is Morgan too. I had something happen not too long ago too, me and my step dad have been caring for 4 Pomeranian Saddleback Geese, Ava, Sara, Heidi and Master Chief (We're thinking Master Chief might be a boy) since they were two weeks old, we received a mating pair of Chinese swan geese, Juan and Wanda and they did the same kind of behavior for a bit, chasing and biting, making the pecking order clear. They now will sleep together, have allowed the swan geese to come pretty close, but when food, especially treats come out, the 4 will chase the swan geese away and want to eat first, we just have two feeding stations that are far enough so there not fighting over water and food. What's funny is we also have chickens, and the two swan geese have started going into the coop because they can fit through the chicken door, but the other 4 can't, so I am thinking they go in there to eat and get warm. We built a goose house for them but I am thinking the 4 Pomeranian geese might be keeping the two swan geese out, not sure yet. We're raising, culling the chickens for meat and eggs, but we're keeping the geese as guardians and pets, they have very sweet and curious personalities. I am trying to convince my step dad to get a few Indian Runner Ducks or some Pekin ducks because there so cute. :)
