"We cannot reduce our sport to four tournaments a year..." Statements like these shed continuous light on this guy as sportsman and competitor. Can't help but support and respect his efforts.
Congrats Rafa, what a great achievement. They should get some fans in their asking questions. These journalists are so boring with the silly questions. My gosh, if I was a player I'd want to leave straight away.
Chuck Steak yeah one day they should change philippe chatrier to rafael nadal centre court that would be awesome!... dont think so too bad he is spanish. Hopefully one day spain will be a place for grand slam host and then the centre court will have his name all over it.
Already french tennis federation plans to erect his statue in front of the centre court...www.tennisworldusa.org/news/news/Rafael_Nadal/43993/roland-garros-to-erect-a-statue-in-honor-of-rafael-nadal/
Fristaile O after winning without dropping any single set. For 10... 10th time holy fuck. At this point im not sure that he is a legit human.. he might even made in laboratory 😂
i like the attitude of "it's not over until its over". He kept fighting until the end because he knew if he gave up mentally too early he could lose it all. "Focus on the next point and not the title" when the stakes are high..yeEEEESSS!
I can understand why players don't like press conferences. My goodness, for two weeks long already horrible questions and the worse case is the questions are repeated many times....pfff
Yup. There's one guy who asked a question about "what do you feel on the court? do you feel joy?" Just a stupid, aimless question. He asked Venus a question about her "extended family"...and Venus was, like, I don't understand you AT ALL!
Rafael Nadal is a true inspiration to us all. I admire him for his relentless attitude on and off the court as well as his humble nature. There has not been a champion of such great quality. Truly a LEGEND VAMOS RAFA THE GREAT!!!
I am first a FedFan but I am just in awe of Rafa and what he did these last 2 weeks. His draw did open up but he beat everyone opposite him so convincingly that I don't think it would have mattered if Djokovic had won his qrtr match against Theim. I think people are bound to downplay the significance of La Decima because Rafa just isn't as popular as Roger and this is the first really ironclad impossible to ignore definite item in Rafa's resume that he's not the 2nd best player of all time but rather belongs right there beside Roger as the co-greatest. Not that RG titles 7, 8, & 9 weren't impressive enough, but people were bound to make that King of Clay moniker mean that he was only a great clay player. Doesn't matter now what surface it was, or maybe it does because we know how difficult and different clay is. But his tenth.....TENTH Roland Garros title, we knew that was possible as Rafa kept winning them, but prior to 2004 I'd wager everyone would have laughed at the notion that anyone could win the same major or even ATP Tour event ten times. And yeah, just for that best tennis player of all time debate, think about what's happened the last 3-4 years. Roger and Rafa both had their struggles, some of it health related and some of it that Nole had just gotten so good, and then Andy became first the clear #2 then #1. And what happens in 2017? When Nole and Andy reach the twilight stages of their career as well and the opening is there for the younger generation, the two guys in their 30's win each of the best-of-five majors. No question Roger was the better all-round player and the 18 slams demonstrate that. But those ten Roland Garros titles can't be ignored. And I'm just so happy I became a tennis fan and got to see those two show the world what it takes and what it means to be a champion.
Chuck Steak, agree for 100%, because Rafa is legend & only the one who could reach such result within last centuries.Rafa my congrs from Kazkahstan - thanks to you we spend two fantastic weeks - YOU ARE KING
this year rafa is diferent, actualy this year is the the third in which nadal dont loose sets in rg,in the other two years,he win wimbledon,it hink he can win it
1 Louis, you probably didnt know he has 2 Wimbledon crown. He made the finals in AO and the courts were super fast there this year. He has a great shot considering Novak, Murray are not the same. Roger and Stan will be the biggest hurdle at Wimbledon.
Can someone tell these reporters: tennis players don't think about "when I am going to win." When on the court, they play one point at a time. Like Rafa said, when it was 5-1 in the 3d set, only then did he think maybe he would win. Do not ask stupid questions.
Rafael wasn't going to let the tenth title slip through his racquet lolz He completely bossed and controlled the match from start to finish. Stan got schooled in clay tennis 🙊 He wasn't given the chance to cause trouble. Rafael was just too good 😊 Very entertaining match even though it was one sided. The best player won 😏😩☺️😊👍🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤘
He is just three Grand Slams apart from Federer, and 5 years younger.... what do you guys think will he surpass Roger to win also 18 Grand Slams or even more?
barring any injury or freak accident, Nadal should be able to eclipse Federer within a matter of 4 years...but then Djokovic and Murray could find their forms again and make it more interesting...bottom line, (men's) tennis is as exciting and full of unknowns as it ever has been
Hardly broke a sweat. He will be vulnerable in the early rounds at Wimby but if he makes it passed round 4 then he will be in the final. SW19 is going to be interesting this year. Federer returning with minimal loss of match practice. Rafa still got energy and it great form. Andy and Stan coming good again and Djokovic getting his head in shape. Who's your money on folks?
How are they journalists? Same stupid questions. Why not ask about his improved serve, ROS or BH? His strong mental aspect he once lost and now regained? His consistency in being in final rounds of every tournament this year. Always the same stupid questions.
He does. You should watch his early interviews from 2006-2011. Untill he got the big knee injury he was the best grass player, alongside Federer. Five consecutive finals says a lot. Rafa was a better grasscourt player than a hardcourt player at the beggining of his career. He was moving amazing on grass.
Is someone still of the opinion that Nadal is a passive player?I wouldn't back him to win Wimbledon but the kind of aggressive tennis he is playing he can make at least the semis.
"We cannot reduce our sport to four tournaments a year..." Statements like these shed continuous light on this guy as sportsman and competitor. Can't help but support and respect his efforts.
So humble, what a great example, I wish him the best.
Congrats Rafa, what a great achievement.
They should get some fans in their asking questions. These journalists are so boring with the silly questions. My gosh, if I was a player I'd want to leave straight away.
They need to build a court at the French for him. "Rafael Nadal Centre Court"
Chuck Steak agree
Absolutely Chuck!!
Chuck Steak yeah one day they should change philippe chatrier to rafael nadal centre court that would be awesome!... dont think so too bad he is spanish. Hopefully one day spain will be a place for grand slam host and then the centre court will have his name all over it.
they are removing court 1, then they must be Rebuilding? if they do then name it after Rafa but don't change name of centre court.
Already french tennis federation plans to erect his statue in front of the centre court...www.tennisworldusa.org/news/news/Rafael_Nadal/43993/roland-garros-to-erect-a-statue-in-honor-of-rafael-nadal/
Besides La Decima, another notable achievement is to win a title in Teens, 20's and 30's, joining a elite list of 2 other players including Sampras.
Serena is the other player.
Vignesh Dhakshinamoorthy wow that's a great achievement it's great to witness this kind of tennis
He also surpassed sampras by claiming the 2017 French open title he is holding 15 grand slam titles
Ron Vignesh 16
SUPERSTAR_H_GAMER 18 now baby! VAMOS!!!
What was your toughest match?
What he meant: Idk I didn't have any tough matches I destroyed them all
Legend Rafa.
Hahaha yeah, he didn't want to say that so he beat around the bush, but really, odd question cause there were no tough matches at all
Fristaile O after winning without dropping any single set. For 10... 10th time holy fuck. At this point im not sure that he is a legit human.. he might even made in laboratory 😂

gaia this extremely competitive approach asks for risks and injuries reducing his shelf life!
In his mind he's already thinking of winning it next year 😂
They should give Rafa another trophy for having to respond to those really repetitive and annoying questions.
Juan Pablo Gonzalez Jimenez I agree!
Juan Pablo Gonzalez Jimenez then just imagine how many trophies djokovic, federer, Serena Williams should get?
I was honoured to be there.... He was incredible 💪🏆❤️
Master...Well done and lots of love/luck and happiness from Serbia.
Hopefully we will be lucky to watch you for so many more years.
Rafa : the greatest of all time!
I can understand why players don't like press conferences. My goodness, for two weeks long already horrible questions and the worse case is the questions are repeated many times....pfff

Calling him the King of Clay is an understatement. God of Clay is more fitting.
dmh091 great play of words...
Lifan23 If Nadal was a Hard court specialist instead of clay he would have won the Australian and US Open 10 times.
About time Rafa won another slam. Just too damn gd not to.Now neck to neck in slams with Roger so far in 2017. Hope to see their rivalry reborn!
Muchas felicidades Rafa, un abrazo desde Montreal.
Such a champion and so humble
que grande Rafa.idolo!!
the way he played in this year, it s look like he is in form of his life , i think too many grandslam would coming to his room this year
unbelievable dominance this year by RAFA
He is so adorable... unbelievable
A real Genius the Perfection!
Que está noche,La Fuerza te siga Acompañando Rafael Nadal.Pequeño Aprendiz ya sabéis con Ñ siempre.Vamos ,chatin.Tramquilo.
I like how he describes the mental battle at 6:15. Nice insight on his approach & mentality.
Every ATP final in 2017 except Indian Wells and Rome - which intentional or not, was probably good for his RG campaign. Vamos Rrrrafa!
Nadal lost in the QFs of Doha/Brisbane week at the start of the year too
it was brisbane against milos in 3 sets
Good point, but it's my understanding that was exhibition.
BTW, does anyone know why TC Plus does not have a replay of the men's doubles final?
isn't Australian open ATP?
yes it is but wat was the purpose of that question
first , Vamos Rafa :) Wimbledon Next - 16 coming in 4 weeks :)
hahahha he's gonna lose in the 2nd round as always... he doesn't have the game to play good Wimbledon anymore !
1 louis that's based on confidence.
this year rafa is diferent, actualy this year is the the third in which nadal dont loose sets in rg,in the other two years,he win wimbledon,it hink he can win it
1 Louis, you probably didnt know he has 2 Wimbledon crown. He made the finals in AO and the courts were super fast there this year. He has a great shot considering Novak, Murray are not the same. Roger and Stan will be the biggest hurdle at Wimbledon.
Hmmm, I probably watched 2012,2013,2014,2015 Wimby's and I'm not sure but I've not seen Rafa doing anything good there ^^
I've always been a Federer fan, but this guy is a force of nature.
Can someone tell these reporters: tennis players don't think about "when I am going to win." When on the court, they play one point at a time. Like Rafa said, when it was 5-1 in the 3d set, only then did he think maybe he would win. Do not ask stupid questions.
Is it possible to find the Wawrinka's one ?
PBZ I actually watched wawrikna's press conference before this one
i believe nadal is set to win wimbledon this year already because he has the ability to play defensive and aggresive very successfully. 16 loading...
He's desperately looking around thinking someone get me out of here! Pathetic repetitive questions
its party time, la decima time😊
He's too humble!!!!
Amazing!
congratulations Rafa, vamos!
El mejor como persona y deportista
Wawrinka's last set against murrray was very bullying. I expected him to be the same against Rafa but Rafa did allows wawrinka to play that kind
what a champion, he is the best on clay!
VAMOS CHAMP10N !!!
spaniard is back!
He is just three Grand Slams apart from Federer, and 5 years younger.... what do you guys think will he surpass Roger to win also 18 Grand Slams or even more?

Rafa is at 18 now baby! 2 more to catch Roger!
@@goldwolf0606 19 now;
Rafael Nadal el mejor de la historia

Who's your money on folks?
Now he can drop Francis Roig. With Moya under his wings he already improved his game.
Yea, he shouldnt have waited 3 years to hire Moya. Its good to bring in fresh mind from outside to bring in a new perspective on his game.
1)Grass court 2) Hard Court and > 3) Rafael Nadal Court, people. You understand, no?
He looks a little tired in this interview room. It seems like the interview is more tiring to him than being on the court!
Special Victory🙏🎾🇪🇸✨
How are they journalists? Same stupid questions. Why not ask about his improved serve, ROS or BH? His strong mental aspect he once lost and now regained? His consistency in being in final rounds of every tournament this year. Always the same stupid questions.
What questions to ask? He kicked everyone's ass in this tourney and three straight laughers over Stan in final. End of story.
18:21 :D
He needs to eat the trophy and sniff his nose on the mic - poor Rafa.
17:00
my right ear is very unhappy...:/
I don't want to insult those journalists but most of the questions are really stupid.
i agree... these guys just want to sit there and look at him i feel... all asking the same...how do you feel about this win... question...
15,47 I love grass HAHAH
He does. You should watch his early interviews from 2006-2011. Untill he got the big knee injury he was the best grass player, alongside Federer. Five consecutive finals says a lot. stupid questions.
Great player, not such a great speaker.
Julián Herranz English is not his first language though.
i think politics is what you're looking for,not tennis
a perfect reply I must say!
English is not his first language. can you speak other languages?
Let me see how well you can speak French.
