I honestly had no idea that you can do all these stuff without a behavior controller and I couldn't even do most of the things you did so simply even while using one. This was really useful. Thank you! You get a sub from me
Left comment, left like, subscribed. Great detail, great step through, this was actually what I was wondering. Deeper dives into this would be great. Examples of how to set up automation would be excellent if you're asking for suggestions. Very solid tutorial and intro vid. 10/10.
I think being able to cosmetically customize your drone would be cool. Having different drone designs for each purpose would make them visually striking making searching for them easier
Bet its something you'll do at somepoint but I'd love to see videos based around creating the most effective and optimised systems for just about anything within reason of course e.g mining, production lines and whatever else the game has to offer. Loving the content
A couple ideas for different videos, as your schedule permits. -Resources. Have you unlocked them all? Are they unlocked with research? Do you have to go far to find some of them? (Is it like Factorio where crude oil and uranium are outside of your starting area?) Are resources limited? -Building sizes and the module sizes that they can accommodate. -Vehicle type and the module sizes that they can accommodate. Maybe speed differences as well. -How do you generate power? How do you expand the power grid? Is there a pattern for really good coverage? -Research and the tech tree. How many categories? What sort of dependencies are there? Any techs that should be at the top of a player's wish list? -Enemies. Have you encountered all of them? How dangerous are they? What kind of overwhelming fire superiority do you need to survive an encounter? During your live stream with the mods, you were each in control of your own groups of bots. How many did you have in the end? Was it becoming difficult to manage the different 'fleets'? (I think back to Master of Orion 2 when I needed to build and upgrade my ships periodically.) Could there be a point where a single player cannot manage all of the bots over an expansive map? For the behaviours, are there too many options to talk about all of them? (Maybe even just zooming in on the list, so that they are easier to read in the video would be helpful.) Are they all available or do some of them get added with progressive research? I might have more questions and ideas as you create more videos and share more snippets of what the game has in store.
What I´m furious about is that there is no way to have one bot connect to more than a single storage unit. As the bots moving the material to the production tend to always use the shortest way, they next to never get to the last storage, which renders the miner filling the last storage useless. He fills it up and then just waits around instead of filling any of the other storage that holds the same stuff.
the behavior looks pretty cool and stuff. I still haven't looked at the game quite yet (downloaded it though). I still feel like the interface seems really clunky, as it seems (in programming terms) like the syntax is really verbose (which is good, for fine control of things) but it doesn't look like there are things like macros where I could set default behaviors and stuff like that (I'm reminded a lot of elixir programming, where the behaviours are meta programmable, where you can program the programming language with your own setup), I'll have to give the game a try soon...
Looking forward to the behaviour controler part of the game. It looks fun and I imagine that this will be a great introduction to programming for young gamers
I've been playing RTS since Dune 2. I was looking forward to this game, but I'm rethinking it now. I just want to build some stuff, mine some stuff and blow a lot of other stuff up (C&C, Supreme Commander, Company of Heroes etc). The whole "signals to links, to visuals, to grids" is not what I'm after in a game. I watch your COI vids out of a sort of sick fascination lol. A game that is based around building the machine to make the machine that builds the next machine needed for another machine, while calculating ratios and learning the nine different recipes for each, is just too much for me to relax doing. If you do a playthrough of this I'll likely watch it. I just don't get/like complexity for the sake of complexity.

Thanks for the great tutorials! I loved Autonauts, and had heard this game heavily encouraged automation, but I had no idea how to get started!
JD, you better call Kenny Loggins, cause your bot's in the danger zone.

Keep them coming JD. I've wishlisted this game and will get it as soon as I've worked some more overtime.

I fully expect we will be splitting each topic out to its own video as even setting up a semi automated mining setup requires a few steps
Thank you for the simple automation examples, will use immediately when I start the next play through
Thank you for covering the basic automation!
Love the mining setup, will 100% use it!
I've been excited for this one since it's demo/alpha. I will definitely be buying it when it drops.
Thanks for the tutorials!

That is a LOT of good ideas!
Thanks, JD. Useful content.
Great tutorial, thank you for all of the hard work.
Thank you for the tutorial! Appreciate your time very much.
Feed that algorithm!
I’m loving dysynced so far
With that much logic in the game. Probably a matter of time before someone plays Doom in Desynced.
Auto Pong (using the new basic on/off 'bit' lights) Pong!

Om nom nom. Feeding the algorithm.🤖
Thanks. Behavior tutorial please. I got the basics, so advanced would be cool.
just typing anything for more videos

I can say im 100% useless at programming and programming terminology but I have found sub routines can be helpful when you make short simple programs
Looking forward to the behaviour controler part of the game. It looks fun and I imagine that this will be a great introduction to programming for young gamers
Feeding the beast some 🎉 emots
👍👍
I built drones but they don't seem to do anything, a video about that would be great!
Pretty need👍

I understand its a mix of 2 different game types, for a just RTS game I would try Beyond All Reason I just wish I had more time to play the game!
@@JDPlaysthanks for the heads up mate.
Have you ever played minedustry?
I have tried it on the mobile version but I've never tried on the PC
🤖 Desynced ⛏
Could you make a tutorial on how to make the bots avoid accidentally going into the blight or near enemies and getting killed? 🤖
Excellent video let's do one video per tech tree. How to get them then a break down. But put spoiler warning ⚠️
🤖 robots are awesome
Can you make a vid about alien tech tree and development roadmaps
I'd like to see some of the behaviour control features/workflow.
unfortunately I think you've convinced me to spend more money.
Sorry about that, but you needed something to do during your free time right?
when 🤖take control of the player ^^
Combat 👽
i so have no idea how to automate i hope you help me.
👍
Let's see some combat
I like this new 🤖game. Let's see if you can make me get this one, too, like you did with CoI!
