  • Although it is not his specialty, Thierry Kuba offers you in this new video, to photograph beer. A pretty "mise en scène" with two bottles and a glass of beer in a rustic and smoky environment. Every step of the process, from start to finish. Enjoy!

    Very nice! Beverages can be very tricky but you did this beautifully. Here in the US there are drink specialist stylists. They come armed like Ghostbusters with all their tricks in their cases. I don't usually shoot beverage images but every once in a while I have to include in a shoot and it makes me crazy. Just this past week I bid on a job for Neutrogena and their brief included moisturizer swipes on plexi, hand model with moisturizer, and container shots--similar to beverages weirdly. I lost out on the bid to a woman who has a website with much more cosmetic and beauty shots. So I spent time in the studio trying to capture more images with makeup and soap and lipsticks. After I spent some days shooting these test images I remembered your website and decided to watch some of your videos and enjoyed your slow and methodical practice in your studio!

    • @thierrykubaBTS

  • @LeonKolenda
    @LeonKolenda 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Very good ! I learned a lot from this tutorial! Thierry, I have a couple of questions for you.
    1. Why do you shoot at F18? That seems like you would start to get diffraction after f10, especially at f18.
    2. Also what makes you decide to use two different diffusion materials? Some tutorials are Lee-filter 216 and others I think at 416?
    Thanks, Good Stuff

    • @thierrykubaBTS
      @thierrykubaBTS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Leon and thank you for your visit of my channel. I never had problems with diffraction, I neded a lot of depth o field. For the use of difusion material, it is often based on what I photograph. The leelux 400 is thicker and made of plastic, so easily washable when I use water or paint in my shoots. The 216 is thinner and usually used for standard shooting. Have a nice day

  • @daleelliott7390
    @daleelliott7390 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Really enjoyed this tutorial. I understand using the matte spray on a bottle to avoid ruining the label but I was just wondering if there's anything wrong with creating the condensation for the glass naturally by keeping it in the freezer? I thought the matte spray might spoil and contaminate the glass if I want to drink from it later.

    • @thierrykubaBTS
      @thierrykubaBTS  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello my friend and thank you. You can do it with real condensation, but then you have to be quick to shoot, because the effect won’t last long. If product photographers do it this way, there is a good reason. Also I don’t think you risk much by drinking beer afterwards, it is impossible that the products applied on the glass will affect the liquid.
