I love the two of you ! You both make my day ! Thank You for sharing your wonderful gift of Stitching with all of us . I really look forward to each of your flosstubes .
This is my first time watching you two and I thoroughly enjoyed all your musing. Great to see Molly share all her recent Aida purchases; I stitch on all kinds of fabric and it was great to see all the Aida fabric. I watch the Sable Stitchers and I enjoy when flosstubers go deep in their stash and bring the oldies and goodies. Gets me all motivated to do a deep into my stash too!
Thanks for another fun visit. I always enjoy spending time with you and your stitching. I loved all those framed pieces. You have picked the perfect frames. Just gorgeous.
A Sign of Interest is so amazing! Karen worked with me on a custom stain. The stain color is Oasis Blue. The woods…🤤 luscious. Amazing flosstube and happy stitching! 😊🩷🙏
Enjoy as always! Beautiful finishes Molly you worked it in February! Only spring stitch I finished was “Spring Basket” by Stacy Nash, imperfect but I loved it framed. Always so many interesting things you and Kathy talk about, always teaching us something great Kathy!
Molly - Another Flosstube you can watch to show colors up close is GaRon Stitchery. They carry probably between 6-10 different fabric dyers. They carry Linen, Evenweave, and Aida
Molly, I also stitch on Aida. After working all day, my eyes are too tired for linen. Have you ever ordered from Farm Girl Dry Goods? Try Michelle's fabrics they are wonderful when you can get them. She also has a great flosstube with lots of different projects and wool applique. Also, get on the next pre-order list for colour and cotton. P.S. you know we totally "fan girl" over you too!
Oh thank you, Karen. I have watched Farm Girl Dry Goods, but haven't ordered from her yet. I love her style, creativities and stories. Thanks for reminding me. I will need to take a look at her fabrics. hugs, Molly D
Hey ladies another great video. All things are wonderful. Wow Molly what great stitchy pieces totally complete. Kathy beautiful quilts. Molly the name of the pattern is souvenir of the heart by needle and thread. I have that on my radar to stitch. Happy st patty’s day.😊
Another great video filled with finishes that are breathtaking beautiful. Totally enjoyable. I have recently found Robin Pickens designs and I love them. ❤️
Lots of beautiful things but Kathy’s “Tetelestai” really caught my eye and was wondering if she would share her color conversion with me? Another great video!
Great video! I am an Aida stitcher also. Your samplers stitched on linen are beautiful and I admire them. I am currently working on the Egg Collector by Teresa Kogut pretty much monogamous! If only I could stitch faster. Glad you mentioned your stash of Aida. I don't have a cross stitch store close by. Mostly I get my 14 count Aida at Hobby Lobby. Happy stitching!
so much good stuff thanks for sharing with us. dont think ive seen crosstitch antiques patterns before!! im in love. i found the embroidery & crafts book on the second hand market too after kathy loundsbury shared it on her flosstube! love all the things
Everything you both make is so beautiful and inspiring but, Molly, your framed pieces this morning just blew my mind. Your frames are exquisite and your stitching is fabulous. Great video, as always.
Love every single thing and I know you’ll hit 10k very soon❤ you’re both amazing stitchers and women! I’m so happy to hear about the elves, I stitched some of them a long time ago I think on oatmeal Aida! We just didn’t have many choices then did we! Blessings to you both!😊
Kathy love your Eileen Bennett sampler. I love her designs. I took a class from her in the 90’s. I just picked up an Irish design of hers from a destash site from 1986. Yes Kathleen Littleton will be teaching at Hobby House in May. I just signed up this weekend. They had a few spots left. My first visit here. I’m subscribing.
Good to see you again today. Always a fun time. Lots of interesting topics and stitching and stash. Tip I got from a very old framing book was to fold your stitched piece in quarters and finger press a crease an inch or two long at the ends of the fold. (The outside edges of the fabric to be clear.) Mark the centers of your backing board with a line each way and match the crease to the line. It works to within 2-3 threads. Quilts were very pretty. A Chandelier quilt has been on my radar the past couple of months....will I get one started?
Thanks for another entertaining video! I also purchased a Robin Pickens chart! I’m getting the Cardinal, and ordered from Lindy Stitches. So pretty, it was a tough choice! Take care ladies!😘
Cross-eyed Cricket bunny! I stitched that, too. Wonder where it is now? I also stitched the angel holding a little Christmas tree. I just love those cute old patterns. Molly - your framing looks absolutely gorgeous!
The Floss Drop idea came from Erin Elizabeth 😊. I’ve cut my own from Comic Book Boards to keep them strong and uniform. I cut mine with a Fiskars paper cutter at 1 x 2”.
If I stitch a chart that I intend to frame for posterity, I transfer the foam core size onto my fabric by stitching with a color of thread you can see against it, around all four edges. Then I pin on/about that line. And I try to pin in the middle of the foam core, I don’t want to stab my fingers.
You know why framers don't cut smaller than 5 or 6 inches? The electric saw they use to cut the moulding has safety guards on it so the operators don't loose a finger!
I'm halfway through your video and looking forward to seeing all your haul but I also ordered the Faith pattern Molly and would love to start it with you once I get everything. I lived that ruler too Cathy and was hoping to find it locally but so far no luck.
Loved the video of you two … both of your works are amazing … thanks for the framing tips too …until next time 😊❤ … Dena Also, I heard about y’all from Running with Scissors with Jane and Julie …
love you guys so much! Molly, I wish I lived close- you kill me!! Molly you made me feel comfortable using bigger counts when I love the look of the tiny so much, but its so hard on my eyes- your work showed me that a called for count looks just as beautiful on the larger count too. Thank you so much !! I love your channel so much!!! I bought Flea Market beause of it hanging behind you. Did you use the called for on that? Thank you again!
Well, hello, Sally. And my eyes can't take those higher count linens. I have only tried a few times, but the stress level and strain took all the fun out of stitching for me. I'm just excited to be using 16, 18 and 20 count aida's now. Thanks so much for watching! hugs, Molly D
The Brenda Gervais pattern that you are wondering about is Souvenirs of the Heart -Star Spangled Spectacular (With Thy Needle and Thread). Thanks again for another wonderful video. Love spending time with the both of you!
When you asked I went and found my pattern and put the comment in right away. Then I felt silly when I returned to the video to see that Kathy had already found the answer. LOL
You gals make me smile! Love your quilts Kathy! You both inspire me to get my WIPS finished. I hope you reach your 10K follwers and soon. I so enjoy your Floss Tube! Hugs!
Kathy, your quilts and helpful tips are beyond amazing. Molly, your finishes left me panting! Thank you for another video that inspires! Love you both!
Ladies you out do yourselves every video. I got a little emotional with the shared samplers. Thanks Kathy and Molly you couldn’t have said it better. Young girls making these by candlelight and probably feeling the same rewards that we feel restitching their wonderful artistry. Be still my heart! Thanks for all your inspiration!
Hi! I enjoy listening to you both immensely. Kathy showed a ruler, combo threader, fabric count assiter a few videos ago. It was a bit pricey, maybe $39. Can you post again what the brand was. It was a beaut and I would like to pick one up. Thank you.
Wonderful video, ladies! All the finishes look fantastic! Great job, Molly, on your framing/lacing!! I love your enthusiasm for a craft we all love! Happy stitching!!❤
Nicola Parkman of Hands Across the Sea has a good tutorial on TH-cam on framing. It is very informative and easy to follow and understand. Love your video. Beautiful stitching is art work and I was taught we should add the date and name. Thank goodness for the ones before us did so we can learn and enjoy from them. I was stunned when I took my needlepoint piece to be made into a pillow and the shop owner had me put my initials and date on it before she took it. She said after all that work, it would be worthless. Pretty shocking and abrupt of her, but believe me, I always sign my work. I have never forgotten her. I was a new young stitcher and she was the grandmother type. She scared me like a stern teacher.🥰
Kathleen's shop in Frankfurt, IL is so cute! It's not big, but it's packed! She is delightful. Make sure she's there...she travels doing lectures, etc. Get that GPS going...it's in old town...a very antique building that suits the antique look of her designs.
Oh my! Thank you for another terrific video sharing your beautiful framed projects and WIPs. So inspiring. Molly, you did a great job framing your projects. I would love to stitch faster. So many inspiring samplers.
I have the opposite experience with the stitching on linen threads...I like cross thread vs. vertical thread. My thread slips under the vertical. But it's true that when you are consistent, you know when you are off, for sure. Really love watching you two! So cheerful, knowledgeable, and beautiful. Thanks for all the positive content.
What a fun video!! Can you please share the threads you are using for the better homes and garden pattern from the book and what fabric you are using? I love it so much!!
Thank you for another great video! Molly, your framed pieces are beautiful! Your wall is getting full! Kathy, loved seeing your quilts! I always have lots of fun watching you!
