I was wondering why you didn’t snug up the chain, but I guess that could lead to a brake adjustment… and if the customer doesn’t want to spring for a $15 chain you have to know when to quit.
He would have needed a new chainring, freewheel, and chain at this point. The teeth on the cogs were very worn down. It’s riding fine for now and not slipping. Too much tension on a worn drivetrain could cause it slip or maybe even break, so I didn’t want to touch it. I gave him a quote, he denied the service, but at least he’s aware 🤷♂️.
