This is one of the best games ever made. I played this summer too, and last time a game hit as hard was like when I was a kid playing Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6. This is probably the best game of whole 2000s to me.
There are VERY few tracks in gaming that feel like being shot in the face with a cannon that used "the sheer feeling of adventure and joy" as ammo, but I can say this is one of them.
Finished this game just about last week, MAN from the soundtracks, to the stories and literally everything this game has been so much fun to play through!
honestly expected to have the full soundtrack not be out on youtube AT ALL due to Square Enix's shenanigans. I am pleasantly surprised by this turn of fate.
I really love how it continues to carry the motif of the first game, and the percussion at the beginning, plus the added instruments, now tells you to prepare for an even bigger adventure than before
This is an incredible soundtrack, matched only by an unbelievably astounding RPG! Thought-provoking story, diverse and top-level voice acting, modern and revolutionary RPG mechanics, astonishing art... this may be the perfect RPG. I've been immersed in this game for countless hours and I've still got quite a journey ahead of me. I'm loving and appreciating every moment! 10/10

I just understand it... But the main menu is the final stage of the game. One last Goodbye for the characters and everybody go home. Castti returning where she beginnher journey. Throné chilling in her home town, Partitio making a deal for his railroad. Hikari finally going home....
Well I'll be damned... You're right, I might as well put it in order based on the intro screen: Also, spoilers for the stories: - Castti is returning to where her journey began, for context, she said she was going to look for "like-minded allies" to rebuild Eir's Apothecaries. - Agnea is practicing her dancing, she said she was going to keep dancing 'till they all met again, & she's now a star. Besides, she has to return to her hometown once in a while. - Osvald is the only weird one of the bunch, being right next to the prison on Frigit Isle. He did say that the Pursuit of Knowledge is endless, and maybe he was pardoned of his crimes after Harvey tried to kill his daughter(Many people knew Harvey had a secret room in the academy, but didn't know where it was or what was in there(His experiments & Osvald's notes), and then Ori's notes reveal some of his ideals & schemes, so there's that). - Partitio seems to be building the continental railroad the Roque mentioned, and other business men seem to be coming to provide aid. - Throne is walking through her town freely, not being shackled by her ties to the Blacksnakes anymore. It seems she's just beginning her journey to find uncharted territory. - Hikari is going on the route back to Ku, simple enough, since he is the emperor of the nation. - Ochette is going out for another hunt, no surprises there, I suppose... - Temenos seems to be watching over the Sacred Flame & the Flamechurch. Makes sense, since he has the highest authority out of those left alive after his story. Overall, it's kind of sad to see them part ways, but honestly, I hope they eventually meet again, after all, a journey never ends, even after a part of our life does.
This music, I don't know what to say, except that it perhaps possessed me, when writing about my despair and pessimism while writing, something atomized within my mind to tell me to write one of the most passionate things ever, faith. It is not limited or wielded by those who enter Mosques, Churches, Temples, and Shrines, it is something that we all have, we all have something to be faithful about, even me, someone who had renunciate his religion, I know it deeply in my damned heart that there is something worth putting your faith in, even if I will never be known as a great author or remembered, there is doubt in my mind that it is my passion, I am a writer, even if I haven't published anything that I have written, I know it to myself that I am one and nothing will ruin or stop it. and I implore anyone, to have faith in something, It doesn't have to be religious, it doesn't have to be anything wise, it just has to be about yourself, never stop believing in the very thing you are faithful for, you may lose everything, but when you finally find your true faith? It is the very passionate flame that may find or guide you to your purpose, I will continue to write, and perhaps maybe even have the courage to finally publish the things that I write about, even if I am destined to be ridiculed or forgotten, at least I can say, I did what I wanted in life, regardless of the obstacles and pain, the self-doubt and despair, at least I know one thing I know about myself that I am faithful and passionate about, I am a writer. And now, all I can say is this, Do you know the very thing that you faithful for? And if you do, are you willing to sacrifice everything for it? And if you don't know, are you willing to sacrifice everything to know it? You do not need to answer to me, all I need you to do is answer it yourself.
still upset at game awards 2023 octopath traveler 2 never got nomiated for its ost, worst is of all things hifi rush won. note: it only won due to its a rythm game but a game that relies on known tracks from pop culture and not much original music should not be nominated, will agree with fans it should have one design style.
