Whilst surprise villains come in all shapes and sizes in Trails, my heuristic criterion says that if you wear glasses, the probability that you are hiding something jumps up a lot EXCEPT if have green hair (then you are going to be a straight as a die and rude to boot). Additionally, if in addition to wearing glasses you also happen have a post-graduate degree and hold a teaching post, well then, I would prefer to shoot first and ask questions later!
😂 I decided he could be a candidate for the villain the moment I saw his devilish face... And realised he HAD a face portrait But in trails rule number one is: NEVER TRUST A RANDOM PROFESSOR (unless he's well known like Russell or Schmidt)
@@richardisted3703 Thing is, I don't think the portrait is definitive evidence of anything. Nearly every character that has a face portrait, also has a half body portrait that the game shows at some point, Joachim is not special in that regard. Even Colin got a half body portrait. As for him having a portrait at all, that doesn't necessarily mean he's garuanteed to be important to the plot. Characters in these games can sometimes be given a portrait to put a recognizable face to be associated to a certain location. Or am I to assume that because Ms. Mao has a portrait, that she is a Calvardian intelligence agent? Joachim could have been given a face because he was to be a noteworthy character among the Medical College staff, the SSS' medical consultant, which seems to be the role he had at first. Even the conversation regarding KeA, once she makes it clear she doesn't want to be admitted he backs down, his insistence about the benefits comes across more as a reasonable professional opinion than anything else. Plus, they went to him, it's not as if he made a timely appearance right as they needed him. He convincingly feigns ignorance when they bring Gnosis to him, and the rumors that he tells regarding it may very well have been a real talking point. TLDR: I believe the game doesn't say anything to make him overtly suspicious until right before you go to the medical college in this chapter.
After this and Azure will you be sticking with Japanese Voices in Cold Steel or going with English Dub when it is finally available? Because I would honestly recommend the latter because there are more voiced lines in english and the dub is definitely one of the best I've come across personally 😁
I’ll have to think about it a bit. When looking at one of the English cast members, I recognized someone I knew from years ago which piqued my interest.
@@elehayyme It'll definitely be a change going to English but I hope you do take the opportunity, voiced lines in Trails are hard to come by in comparison to the size of its script that I'd take as many as possible in whatever language delivers them, personally 😅

You have no idea how hard I was laughing back during the intermission, when you decided on a whim that Joachim seemed suspicious.
I mean, his hobby was kind of fishy :P....although the full portrait with no apparent reason to his importance also probably rung a few alarm bells.
