He made good songs and I'll give him that, but making it seems like he's progressive or bold while his music isn't is just plain ego tripping. Compare to his peers: Ariana plays with moody ambient pop while collaborating with a hiphop producer, bold move since her prior album was a less cohesive project and cater more towards the general public. Charli on the hand tests with the idea of mixtape format and collab with PC Music producers, fusing electropop with elements from genre such as glitch and industrial at times. I hope this is insightful and don't come off as aggressive.
