    To sing the three part harmony and play dual leads on 10 almost perfectly live is a feat most other bands of their caliber could never pull off. One of the best rock and roll bands ever. They had to play 100% every show, everytime to pull those songs off. Those who gave a thumbs down, their is something terribly wrong with you.

    • @jackasswabbit1625

      Anyone who selects a thumbs down has lousy taste in music, I play guitar and know phenomenal music when I hear it, he was awesome in his Beatles cover band called Beatle juice, featuring Brad delp, they still play but they have not found a singer even close to Brad's talent

      I would never give these guys a thumb’s down, but they did not play every show perfectly and Brad had many issues with singing some of the songs at various periods in his career. There are videos right here on TH-cam where both Brad and Tom are off including this one, see More Than A Feeling. The point is that they are human and the recordings were feats of engineering. Having said that, these guys and their songs are amazingly fun and beautiful.

      Are you kidding? Zero groove.. The drummer must have been miserable trying to keep time with that guy. It's lead bass the whole time... And his stage presence was a joke. Way too many notes... He would have been much better in a fusion jazz band. Way too self indulgent... If I was music director, I would have fired that guy on the 1st day. Wrong guy for the gig.

    The only complete show is a bootleg filmed at Giants stadium which is not releasable.
    So thanks to whoever uploaded this. The great Boston with the original lineup!

    My life changed quite radically in July of 1977. Brad Delp and band Boston were part of my metamorphosis. Bought that cassette, stuffed it in the player on my MGB and cranked it up. Unreal! More Than A Feeling still ringing in my 75 year old ears forty five years later.
    Call it Mid-life Crisis, Dropping out, whatever...it was...is part of my life. Rest in Peace, Bradley. njf

      Sept. 08 1978 packed like a sardine in the front rows center stage. Live they sounded incredible, just like the album. Blew us away. Magic is the only word that comes close to describing those days. Nothing these days comes even close to any of this stuff.

      I’m envious! In my 30s, I didn’t even exist when the first 2 albums were cut. I learned guitar mainly because of the Barry/Tom harmonizing on top of triple vocal harmonies. That sound is instant heaven to my ears, and It’s been that way since I first heard More Than A Feeling when I was 6!

      Much of the "crumbling" is 1000% scripted horse manure. The ruling clan are maniacal deceivers; some of their mottoes are "Order (as in NWO) Out of Chaos" and "By Deception We Make War." Take the PLAN-demic for example, the illnesses were absolutely real of course, but were not naturally occurring in any way, shape, or form. The illnesses were/are chemical or biological attacks (IMO some type of toxic inhalant) but other than that, it was a MASSIVE, round-the-clock propaganda exercise. They also refer to NWO as Tikkun Olam, or Brave New World.

    What a poor, wasteful, SAD story about Brad, I hope he found the peace he was looking for. I saw this tour and remember, the rock man wasn’t even commercially available (how do I know? I ordered one and anxiously awaited its arrival at my local music store)...It still works today and it freaking ROCKS! Thanks Tom! In nearly every band there are varying levels of ability. This band didnt have any- they were all GREAT! All before vocal harmonizers and pitch correction were available. Mics, pedals, keys, drums, amps and PA. I hear a TON of players today, who in the never ending pursuit of tone, dont sound as good as this recording. Schultz is on FIRE!!!

    I saw them here in Spokane Washington in 1978 and words really can't describe properly what it was like. We kept joking that the show wasn't real because every song sounded like the album, I wouldn't be surprised if we'd put a stopwatch on the songs that they'd have been within a few seconds of the original recordings!

    "....and yeah, yeah. i understand Tom Scholtz is the genius behind all this, and he invented pedals and gadgets, and had the ONLY green velvet vest on earth, and had that cool spaceship pedal thingy, and played pipe organ, but i just like Barry Goudreau's playing and guitar style much better. and im right, everyone else is wrong, and Brad Delp was beyond PERFECT on his vocals every night....."

    The last couple of nights of the October 1979 performances at the Rainbow Theatre London were recorded for the band using 2 cameras, one mobile in front of the stage and another on the lighting gallery suspended from the main balcony for wide or front shots. The camera used in the lighting gallery was a small, with a low resolution suitable for recording to vhs tape, although on this occasion it was recorded onto Sony U-Matic cassette. It is possible that this is from that performance, the quality is certainly about the same, but I seem to remember that the wide/front shots from the lighting position would have been at more of an angle, looking down on the stage rather more than this video shows. I have this information because I was the cameraman on the lighting balcony on the last night at the Rainbow, joined by the wives/girlfriends of the band, who I had to ask a few times to try and keep still, because as they jumped up and down to the music the whole thing shook!
    Hope this may be of some help.

      Michael North I dont think this is from any night of their Euro tour. Since they changed their arrangements slightly for Dont look back (playing the guitar solo twice and singing the harmonies differently). Then again this is a guess.

    • @machineryman7197
      @machineryman7197 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      And i wasnt there so i could be completely wrong lol. I do have an audio recording of 10 16 79 though

      Hi MachineryMan71, Wow you seem to know your stuff on Boston so I think you must be right about this video not being from the last 1979 tour Rainbow concert. If it still exists, I assume the video from that night must still be with someone connected to the group, although the quality will be very similar to what we see here, pretty poor by today's standards.

    • @machineryman7197
      @machineryman7197 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Michael North Yeah lol. Btw thats really cool that you were there to see it. (my dad was at giants stadium). Anyways, if i had to guess, id think this was either capitol centre or houston. I saw a chicago concert vid at houston and the audio/video quality was identical

    They were such an amazing live band. Those songs are tough to do plus youve got the vocal harmonies its not easy to do that my band covered rock and roll band one of the easiest in the catalog but vocals killed it for us when we list our guitar player never could get that tune right again.
