I was there 2-1/2 weeks ago during a massive storm that dumped over 4’ of snow. The trail from Thukla, up and over Thukla Pass, and to Gorek Shep was a mess and difficult to ascend. We could only go half way from Gorek Shep to EBC because of avalanche warnings and no cut trail. It was still worth every ounce of energy left on the trek.
This was good. I rather enjoyed just looking from base camp level. Going up that mountain is.... just what the hell? Why? There's nothing there. No birds, no trees, just the chance to lose your life, and/or possibly cost someone else theirs. The view is gorgeous all around. Good. Good adventure.

Glad you enjoyed it. Its definitely risky to go up, but everyone is free to live as they wish. Some people get a thrill from the challenge im sure
