Absolute 90's classic and the chemistry is still there, love them both.

Lisa Kudrow is so down to earth and likeable and has hardly aged a bit.

When I first watched Romy & Michelle I did it for my daughters and wound up loving it. Watched it so many times. Great movie

This made me cry! I watched it when it first came out at a slumber party, then watched it every day after school until I had it memorized and would repeat it all day at school to friends like a weirdo. I still watch and quote Romy and Michelle to this day. It aged so well and I've related to it so well after being bullied in high school and finding my own independence. I'm a Romy :p

As a fellow Romy, I watched that movie for the first time when I was 28 years old and couldn't relate to movie characters more. Am still watching it almost every day.
I wish they would briefly talk about the fact that Mira was blacklisted by Weinstein and directors who listened to him for the next 20 years - it’s the elephant in the room before we can move on

Such incredibly talented, beautiful people. Both so special and lovely. Lisa with her powerful sense of humor, she really brings life to the world. Mira with her charm and grace, something about her is so calming and admirable. This duo is magic.

They both look so good. My favorite thing about the movie was Romy's "Arizona/Tuscon" accent. I've learned that over the years that there IS such a thing and Romy was the first example I heard. Haha

Okay I've written this before and I'm going to write it again. Here's a plot idea for Romy and Michele 2. Romy and Michele are wealthy, and living in Beverly Hills. They want to be on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills(Maybe one gets cast, and the other only gets on as a "friend", but then the one that's the friend becomes more popular). It should not be about their kids. They shouldn't even have kids. It needs to be about Romy and Michele. PERIOD. You're welcome. Start making the film now!

Good idea I hope Touchstone Pictures would gonna make a sequel to this icon film. But it was a spinoff film that came out in 2003 starring Katherine Heighl from Grey's Anatomy it was a TV film.

Her performance in Spike Lee’s Son of Sam is excellent, if you haven’t seen it I recommend it although the film is a bit of a mixed bag.
Harvey Weinstein bad mouthed her to many directors and wouldn’t allow her to be cast when he was producing- same with Ashley Judd, Annabella Sciorra and many other women! Mira is gorgeous! I liked the movie she did w/ Mariah Carey

I always loved Lisa Kudrow a lot. What a delight. I bet she was always fun to hang around on the Friends’ set over those 10 years that it aired. She can brighten anyones day.
What I loved about the Phoebe character is that it wasn’t the traditional “dumb blonde” role. I think it was intended to be and had anyone else took the role it may have followed what we’ve seen many times before. Something like a Kelly Bundy from Married… with children. Typical and done many times before.
However, Lisa Kudrow brought magic to it and took the “dumb” out of “dumb blonde” and made it a character that didn’t exactly lack common sense like many before but who had a whacky sense of humor and an intriguing thought process. Having learned Lisa as a person over all these years in interviews and behind the scenes stuff, what I’ve realized is that Lisa brought Lisa Kudrow to Phoebe Buffay and really just meshed the two into a character on Friends.
I think the creators and writers would have went somewhere else entirely with any other person who took that role.
Ellen DeGeneres was the original choice for this. She turned it down. If you think about it, The role of Phoebe Buffay mimics Ellen from the 1990s sitcom “Ellen” in many ways.
But Lisa Kudrow was able to add more depth and wackiness to this character than we would’ve seen with anyone else. The Friends crew allowed Lisa to have some creativity in this role and that’s why it worked so much.
Gotta love this woman!
One of my favorite movies of all time. I can see it over and over and it never gets old. Would love to see a sequel to this movie. Romy and Michele still have their cute personalities and they both look great haven't aged much after 20 plus years.
