Hey RCMojo, how has this board worked for this controller long term? I am trying to come up with the direction I want to go, and I like the 4 AA idea better then a 2s lipo.
Thanks for the info! I really like this setup compared to others. There's another way to lower consumption, but I like this because I could switch to using 4 AA's instead of 8! And If I'm not mistaken, even though I prefer AA's at the moment, with the S7V7F5 I should be able to use a 2S Lipo in the future if I wanted to!?
Can you tell me if my new 2019 GT-3B has the PSX firmware installed or do I need to install it? I would hate to do the chip upgrade and not be able to set the voltage turning the LowPower off.
Unless specified it'll come with the FlySky firmware. It's fairly straightforward to change though, I uploaded a video on upgrading a GT3C a couple of weeks ago, the same procedure applies to the GT3B
The max input voltage is 11.8v, so no, it'll most likely let it's magic smoke out. To run on such a high battery voltage look at step-down only supplies, they usually have a much hight max input.
The output needs to be 5v rather than 3.3v. The trick with running 4AA cells is the voltage range can go from 4v (or even less) up to 6v or so. To get a stable 5v out you need a supply that can handle both
Hi Nick, is there any chance of you upgrading my fly sky gt3b, I will be happy to pay you for your expertise as I'm totally useless with electrics. If it kills the gt3b don't worry if u do because I would kill it if I touched it :). Mike

I can't seem to get the low voltage range to go below 7.5v but can adjust up to 10.5v. Any ideas?
Any mods for FlySky gt3c

In my emitter doesn't work the setting to reduce the low power limit
What do you do with the extra connection? Like if you use www.pololu.com/product/2831?

What's shdn mean? Voltage going out voltage coming in and ground
If you take SHDN to ground it shuts down the power supply. Mostly useful if you want to control the supply from another device like a microcontroller
hi there.. will the S7V7F5 work with 3s lipo? 11.1 v?

Pololu 5V, 500mA Step-Down Voltage Regulator D24V5F5 should be grate fit as as long as it comes with schematics but the four pin does mess people up
Should solder left a right to get it right
Pololu 3.3V, 500mA Step-Down Voltage Regulator D24V5F3 in 4 battery setup this could be used
The output needs to be 5v rather than 3.3v. The trick with running 4AA cells is the voltage range can go from 4v (or even less) up to 6v or so. To get a stable 5v out you need a supply that can handle both
Thank you
