The really cool thing that I like about the Deathwatch is that in addition to taking the best of the best from other Chapters, they also take on Marines who turned away from their Traitorous Legion and remained loyal to the Emperor.
I'm just starting the hobby after getting the deathwatch combat patrol from a friend. I love their lore, and now you guys have made me excited about the things I can pull off once I upgrade my collection!
This is the first 'how to play' video I watch on warhammer 40k. Having a background in a variety of games I can piece together the overall complexity of the game from the back and forth. It's absolutely hilarious that there are multiple kinds of hits, crits, wounds and critical wounds, resistance to all those things then resistances to those resistances. Like have ap but also ap resistance, do you also have something that penetrates ap resistance? This is insane, haha.
I’m so pumped this vid is out! Can’t believe I missed it even though I have noti’s turned on! I’ve been taking Callidus and WM for double vect! Love all your notes on the indometer! Been running my DW vets with the same loadout fs. Michael you’re the DW yoda! Can’t wait to watch the full game now. Hope to get some coaching from ya soon!!
39:00 RE: Infernus Heavy Bolter - Regrettably, Veteran Units are limited to 2 per 5 being able to take them and can no longer fire both modes simultaneously (they have the "bullet symbol" next to them that specifies you have to pick one of the options). That rule didn't translate to 10th edition unfortunately. :(
A 5-man Incursor squad & Gladiator Lancer are my first picks from the general SM index to support DW, with Sternguard and a Chaplain (with thief) to lead a potential melee Proteus KT not far behind. Also a fun combo is to give beacon to a chaplain on bike leading an outrider squad for deepstriking/rapid ingress bikes (featured on Tabletop Tactics). As far as DW specific units, a 5-man (or 10) of both Veterans and Terminators have some nice loadout options for the units size. Specifically 5-man termis can take 3 "heavy weapons" (cycl for me), and come with inbuilt beacon, easy to overlook due to similarity to normal. Veterans are good bang for buck troops. Corvus is
Just starting out in the hobby and these videos have been very informative. Many thanksI am trying to put together a 1000 pts list with KTs, but wanted to ask for a bit of feedback. I realise this is a long time after but im getting back into tenth and i wanted to ask about a couple of combos Firstly spectrus kt with a phobos lieutenant - if you leave the suppressors out you could theoretically move 6 inches, advance 6 inches use the dragonfire rounds for assault weapons then use the lieutenants ability to move another 6 inches. Secondly a Judiciar with theif of secrets leading a proteus kt in a landraider variant giving them fight first
Osseus key would be incredibly strong against any shooty vehicle and it’s every enemy turn, you could run up to a land raider and disable or debuff its weapons. Titanic would let you do that to 500 points of your enemy’s army every round, which would be absurd for 20 points
Ok,i have some questions. 1. Is it mandatory that i have to paint it black with silver left arm or i can do something else? 2. Do i have to put existing chapter markings on the right shoulder or i can do something more personal? 3. If there is some jetpack models in a unit then how do i resolve the movement? The whole squad counts as a jetpack unit?
No do whatever scheme you want! Again you have all the freedom you want Only the jet packs can move their movement but you can string the unit out to max it’s range
So, is a galaxy brain play to add an Inquisitor to a unit, alway target that unit with the SIA strat, usually farm that strat back on a 3+, then have a captain in another squad use the strat again for 0. So on most turns you can get SIA on all your kill teams for free?
You could also play it on a spectrus kt and sometimes it's possible to to use a strat 3 times and be given 1cp for it 3+ from inquisitor 5+ from spectrus unit equipment 0cp use from a captain
Is it possible to add Deathwatch Veterans to the Kill Team or just the (old) Vanguard Veterans?? I'm a beginner and it kind of confuses me. Same with "Deathwatch Veteran Bikers" - can they be added to kill teams that allow biker?
I think you need to have a look at your take on enhancements... I too planned on using beacon on the biologis and thief on the gravis captain, but have since found that it states that only one enhancement can be taken per unit... Yeh I know.. bummer
The really cool thing that I like about the Deathwatch is that in addition to taking the best of the best from other Chapters, they also take on Marines who turned away from their Traitorous Legion and remained loyal to the Emperor.
Coming back to this video after a couple games of tenth, everything makes so much more sense! Thanks so much guys!
thank you dude!! Glad we could help :D
I'm just starting the hobby after getting the deathwatch combat patrol from a friend. I love their lore, and now you guys have made me excited about the things I can pull off once I upgrade my collection!
I recommend getting a watch master as well as a Blood Angels Combat Patrol and a set of Deathwatch Veterans.
They'd be a good addition to your army.
If I ever were to play Space Marines it would definitely be Deathwatch, they're far more interesting to me than regular chapters.
That's who I play
Don’t get into deathwatch if you aren’t planning on spending an equal amount of money on shoulder pads, as you would models😢
@@HighMarshalBiggusDickus that's what resin printing is for

I’ve given my captain with twin lightning claws the thief of secrets. 10 attacks, twin linked with devastating wounds damage 2 (potentially 3)
the camera work in this one is amazing
thank you :D
I’m almost finished with painting my DW let’s gooo!!!! Love the long vigil my favorite marines in all the game.

Mike Until a TO/GW rules against it the rules says OR 1 KILL TEAM so shove all them big boys in and drop them out while you can.
Ya that seems very intentional to me
I’m really keen to put KT Cassius on the table. Dev wounds in melee sounds pretty nice
I only have 12 veterans and a converted jump pack chaplain but still my fav army
DW terminators with a chaplain are awesome. +1 to wound and a FNP against mortals. Great anvil unit
Great to hear from Costello I used his proteus design to great effect on 9th
Great to hear! Ill pass it on to Mike :D
Awesome vid. Deathwatch are doing really well and your excellent analysis answers a lot of the why :)
Thanks dude!

I got Dan Abnett to bless my Eisenhorn model.
Hazardous Impulsors and Scout Repulsors are cool combos.

Anyone liking the idea of playing Alpha Legion as Deathwatch? The rules fit them so much better than the current CSM ones
Great video, gents, cheers
Can you use teleportiriam strat on your first turn if your opponent goes first?
So, is a galaxy brain play to add an Inquisitor to a unit, alway target that unit with the SIA strat, usually farm that strat back on a 3+, then have a captain in another squad use the strat again for 0. So on most turns you can get SIA on all your kill teams for free?

3+ from inquisitor
5+ from spectrus unit equipment
0cp use from a captain
I made a deathwatch army but never played them as death watch because they always get shafted rules wise lately.
Deathwatch and Orks are by far the best to mess with for customization
Only suggestion, turn the audio up just a bit
Is it possible to add Deathwatch Veterans to the Kill Team or just the (old) Vanguard Veterans?? I'm a beginner and it kind of confuses me. Same with "Deathwatch Veteran Bikers" - can they be added to kill teams that allow biker?
The ossius key would be great against tau
Where do i get those cool cards he's holding
I like being Xenophic now.
Just waiting for the WEs!...
You used to be able to, but in 10th edition, you can no longer shoot the heavy bolter and heavy
Flamer at the same time.
If i Play deathwatch with the gladius task force can i use tactical Marines ann scouts?
why KRAKEN ROUNDS can be used on Vehicles?
gorgeous
Quick note SIA can't effect vehicles unfortunately
This. Yeah. Still very strong
Tournaments have always ruled that the corvus can carry any kill team *unit*
Also, you left out that it can carry 12 centurions, which is insane
Oh they fixed the centurion thing, just battlescribe has the wrong info :(
HTP: Tau when??
To when how to play tau ?!
lieutenant w/ combi is start of game, not each command phrase

They're separate units in list building. They are then assigned to units at the start of the game. So it's legal
@@kadeneichhorn7370 really? Are you sure? If so then bloody brilliant
Seems a bit excessive for 1 unit personally

You guys have to do something about your audio. I had to turn everything up to hear you.
I dont see why watch is good if you can only use the tactics once per game. Can someone explain????
If you are going to mention amazing artwork, perhaps you should show it in the video as you’re mentioning it…
Why are the units and enhancements your talking about not on screen while your talking about them?
I meeeeen…
Love you guys, but please stop saying ‘yep’ ‘yeah’ ‘mhmm’ and ‘okay’ so much while he’s explaining how things work. It’s soooo distracting.
