Either I got INCREDIBLY lucky or they've adjusted the RNG on this in an update. I just got a golden drone on my second serious attempt, and I didn't even have to loop. Found four lv1 gunner drones, two lv1 gunners, and an upgrader before leaving the Temple of the Elders. I'll take it.
Heal drone is still the Goat🗿
This one is slightly easier if you turn off glass because drone health is tied to base player health. So the drones die less without glass.
