Another awesome video from Luca. This was really helpful mate, thank you so much for this great content! I have really enjoyed my trial of Live far more due to the info presented in your videos. I feel like it saved me a lot of time and I can get right to making music! Can't wait for the next one!
Tremendous video, thanks for creating it!! New subscriber to your channel but I’ll definitely be going through your back catalogue. You and Underdog are making some great content for us would be producers!!
Super useful video. Satisfying that you focused purely on Simpler without overwhelming viewers by throwing in other aspects of Ableton's functionality. Thanks man!
great video.. very useful the way you sow the direct use of the simpler. I have checked other videos that give a full detial of the Simpler and sampler.. which seen here with activity on tracks is great. Thank you.. EDM PROD..
This popped up in my recommendations. This is just what I needed at the right time. I have a female vocal sample in a track I'm currently working on so I'm off to the man cave. An inspirational tutorial. You've won a subscriber.
thank you so much for this video. It really help me a lot, i have been sampling synths and i didn't understand why it wasn't looping right. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the video. For the drums samples, eg high hat, would you rather have each sound on a track instead of using the simpler within the drum rack? Why?
This is a very good demonstration of how the simpler works. Really handy. Thank you very much. I found a bunch of 'single cycle waveforms' that are ment to be used in the Simpler tool. Could you show how to work with something like this? My attempt was to create a chimes (bell tree) instrument that reacts to every note, nevertheless I was not successful, yet.
Great video! but I'm super confused about how the midi patterns were put in before he dragged a sample on? I've tried a few ways but can't work it out? I tried assigning an 808 kit and writing in the notes, then deleting the kit, then dragging the sample onto the track like he did. But my sample sounds nothing like it should? Love to see how he set up the midi patters before he started dragging on samples!
Good info, clearly and concisely explained 👍 Without wishing to sound smug, this is could be alternatively entitled "Generation Z discovers the sampler" 😊 All of the functions mentioned were why we spent weeks staring into the little blue screens of the Akai samplers in the 1990's and why they were such a game changer when released.
How do you save changes you've made to a sample in simpler? Like moving a start point on a sample? Save only saves a simpler preset .adv file. I want to save the adjusted sample to a thumb drive and load it onto my other gigging computer -- but when I load up the .adv file it says sample is offline. If I drop the original sample in the sampler preset, the adjusted start point is gone. Annoying af. I've done hours of work adjusting the start point of these shaker one shots I have to make them sound tight... but I can't save/load them into another computer that way?
Hey, so this is what I struggled with for so long. I figured out a way to basically do this. Have your sample created in simpler. Then, add a separate audio track. At the top of the output channel for the audio track, where it says Ext. In, click on that and press “resampling”. Then, press “In”. Now, solo out the sample you created in simpler , while having the record button on your new audio track. Press record and voila, you have a new audio track with your sample that you can save with all your edits.
Is there a knob to move a slice from left to right around the sample once you set the slice lenght? I would like to know how to do that and map it to a knob on my controller.
Used to fear it - now I simple more than fighting to get songs to loop; SO MANY new ideas (melodies/drums, patterns). Great for "vocal stabs" too ("Yeah", "Uhuh" "REMIX" etc)
Hi Luca, thank you for your video was so useful! Can you please answer for one sort of question i have. If i drop bass in simpler or sampler and if i go higher or lower with the notes i play it changes it length. How to set up correctly so sample will have same velocity and length all the way along all octaves?
one day i made a baseline and i already exported it into audio, but i wanted ut in midi so i could play the melodic bassnotes so i put it into a simpler. later i realized it seemed to change the sound of it quite a lot. why is that?
What about if you add a sample to a clip and it comes with a pop up window asking if you want harmony, melody or drums? When I do this, I get the midi notes in a clip but nothing is playing.
Sounds like you're trying to drag audio into a midi-clip 'bay' which will launch the convert to midi function. Drag the to the bottom panel (like in this vid) instead.
Literally how do I do something as simple as play the sample that I've got in the Simpler window at the bottom so i can listen to what it sounds like and the changes I'm making? There is no Play button for it.
How tf do you tell Simpler what BPM a sample is, if it is incorrectly detected? So that warp will work. It can’t be true that I have to use an audio track.
Slow the vid down or watch it twice then..... If there's certain aspects you don't understand then try and find a tutorial that deal with that particular aspect (LFOs, filter, warping, etc. etc.)......
Yeah, you deserve a like and a follow! I created a whole song from that bass line alone. Very inspiring! The looping strings sound a lot like Scarface. Very cool!
Thanks! If you're wanting more EDMProd related content our Instagram is @edmprodgram, otherwise I do have an Instagram for my personal artist account which is @badeo_aus :)

Just outstanding. The signal to noise ratio (usable info vs not usable) of your videos is so high. My new favorite production tips channel. Well done.
Ableton has so much power, it's incredible really 👍
What a video! Detailed, structured, clean. Thank you so much!
Appreciate you taking the time to watch! 🙏
Love the clarity and simplicity of this video.

You ever think to look at the manual?

Excellent video! Amazing demonstration! Very well done.
You are a great producer and teacher. Your channel is top for ableton and EDM
What an awesome TH-cam, thanks for the tips much appreciated! Can't wait to try these out. 🙌🏼
how do I make the sample play?
A LOT of solid info, well organized and clearly presented. Very helpful!
Great device and great tutorial!
Simpler Blew my mind. Thanks, Guy!
cannot thank you enough for all of these EXTRAORDINARY tutorial videos
This was fantastic!!! Thank you!
Thank you!
Some good tips,

Great for "vocal stabs" too ("Yeah", "Uhuh" "REMIX" etc)
If you're putting "REMIX" samples in your track, you're doing it wrong. "R-R-R-REMIX!". Lame.
Any way that you have encountered to map sample start/end to macros?
gracias
great dude

i love u so much bro, thanks very much
Bravo 🙌
how can you record external sound via audio interface?
You say about the original sample being played back at C1 but the manual says C3?
What if it gets the warping wrong? Does simpler have an option to change the bpm of the sampler without exporting it and putting it back in?
great vid
one day i made a baseline and i already exported it into audio, but i wanted ut in midi so i could play the melodic bassnotes so i put it into a simpler. later i realized it seemed to change the sound of it quite a lot. why is that?
Quality, as always
hi there, where did you get that 909 hat?
Hey Daniel, theres heaps of free 909 packs online, worth going and grabbing one! Not sure exactly which one this is from.
Rip it from this video.
Your basically Ben Kenobi , which makes me Skywalker so I’m down with that all round !! The Force is Definitely strong with you lol
My name being Luca people have always called me Luca Skywalker, so I'm glad I've finally reached Kenobi status haha

Use Simpler all the time but never used that LFO section, thanks for the pointer. 👍
ITS REALLY WORKED LOL THANK YOU DUDE

I can't hear the sample. How do I play the sample?
People should start with simple things lol!!
Bruh that little synth melody sounds like the beginning of the 'Ending Theme' in Scarface
Sorry, too fast to keep up with and not enough explanation for new users like me.

Lock in with hyper focus. You got to be in the right frame of mind but if you hit that wave, ride it till you drop. ADHD rocks!
idk why people do these half assed tutorials. Show the full screen, show on what you're clicking.
