  • I installed the forge intake kit on my i30N Fastback. The difference is dramatic, the turbo has become very audible with loud blowoff and flutter sounds. It sounds glorious! Other mods include an RPM Performance GPF delete, Direnza Flexi Pipe, a custom Backbox and Racechip S.

    I did exactly the same on my pre FL. The sound is great and listenig to yours i'm now less worried about the sound (whoosh) in acceleration.
    I put on a GFB Deceptor Pro Blow off and seems like air was blown out somewhere!!😅😅
    But is your car totally stock except for the intake now? 'Cause mine is, but now i m plannin to remap the ecu...

      @matteomummolo2159 At least you know now it's fine haha 😂 mine's got a 3" direnza flexpipe, gpf delete, custom valved backbox and a racechip tuning box installed. Definitely plan to do a tune at some point

    Do you still use the stock BOV/recirculating valve?

    • @aSidney
      @aSidney  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @hacimcim9946 Yes, I used the stock recirculating valve and piping

    is your exhaust stock? the pops and bangs at 05:06 till 05:20 is normal???

    • @aSidney
      @aSidney  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @lavarnan272 no it isn't stock - it's got a GPF Delete, 3" Flexi Pipe and a custom valved backbox. That being said, I'm pretty sure it's normal but perhaps a bit quieter stock, especially with the GPF

    Ok so. Notice how there's a box around the original paper intake? That's so, when the hood is closed, it draws in cold outside air in thru an intake plenum. The new filter is sucking air in directly from inside the engine bay - you're taking in HOT air. This is very very bad. You can overheat the engine easily. "cold air intakes" are usually anything but. If you can find a way to isolate the new intake to draw in outside air you'll be better for it.

      I rewatched and you can see the box that comes out with the original filter. It has a forward facing plenum that takes in air above the radiator in the front of the car. But the point is the filter sucks in outside air. You want to isolate the filter from taking in hot engine bay air.

      @swesleyc7 There is an inlet above the radiator as you saw. Forge's own testing showed inlet temps of 30 degrees after 4 hard pulls. The engine bay is fairly well ventilated and at speed there's plenty of fresh air coming into the location of the filter. I do not believe this to be an issue

      Not an issue with this car, during the testing of this part the company (Forge) claims this one performs better than a smaller intake with a heatshield etc. Apparently it's well ventilated. So not an issue!
