  • East London based angler Waleed Chaudhrey entered the sport in an unconventional manner. At ten/twelve years of age after watching a fishing program on tv and happening upon a flyfishing set up in his local Aldi which his father purchased for him, Waleed became a lifelong flyangler. This short film captures the sights and sounds from a tour of two urban waterways in the city.

    It’s been about 10 yrs since I got the fly-gear out. This sort of fishing could get me fishing again… thanks. Les in Chester

      You have the Roding, Lea and Salmons Brook all nearby. Definitely worth exploring them.

      River Darent just outside of London. A great small river to cut your teeth on.

    Tough for us Yanks to understand the concept of having to search for fishing in a ‘free place’.

      A lot of your fishing is low cost, a state licence covers you for most things. That said only small numbers of fly anglers here go off the beaten track.
