    Shoutout to www.youtube.com/@boombaka for telling me about the Flydigi products in the first place. Check out his channel for some gyro gaming content!
    THERE WAS AN ERROR IN MY TEST! The polling rate of the Vader 3 Pro is in fact 500Hz, as long as you use the "Dongle Mode" with Wire or Wireless. My test at the end was in "Bluetooth Mode" with Wire and Wireless, hence the lower than expected results.
    Also, I'm relatively new to the product review scene, so please let me know what you thought and how I could improve! Thanks for stopping by!

      What more can you do?! bro what else can we ask for i mean your doing it better than a channel with like 14 million SUBS! just by fixing your information when you have found it to be incorrect is the type of transpernacy we respect and and along with with building trust with you as a creator, especially when we come to you man to see the info which may or may not influence a number of us to trust your word and open our wallets to pay a company that i hope deserves it and is why i came to inform myself on your channel so i know wether a company deserves or doesnt deserve my hard earned money. so thank you. and LTT needs to take some notes!

    Thank you Sega, the Dreamcast Controller used a Hall Effect thumbstick, Sega invented it.

    • @caleasthetic
      @caleasthetic ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Sega invented it? First of all The Sega Saturn had hall effect sticks first (although nobody seems to remember because the console was not as popular). Second you say Sega invented it. I know you probably mean that they inveted hall effect use for thumbsticks? But in that case you would say that they implemented it on controllers, and not invented. After Sega had used them everybody else went with cheap potentiometers instead. Eventhoug companies that are small (like gulikit) can implement hall effect stick cost effectivly in a cheap controller.
      Look at flydigi. the have a controller called the vader 3 pr( $80) it has hall effect sticks, hall effect triggers (with a trigger lock that slides in a mechanical mouse switch). mechanical face buttons, and 4 rear buttons. Maybe the build quality is not up the same level as controller like the dualsense or the dualsense edge. But it does have more features.
      I have both a vader 3 and a vader 3 pro. plus i got theire older apex 2 controller. wich also has mechanical face buttons and triggers ($95). But it lack the hall effect stick. But the upside is that it is completly remapable in rewasd. So i can put unique button inputs on the back instead of copies from buttons that are already avaiable elsewehere on the gamepad.

    Vader and Gulikit have the feature of recalibrating the center position of the sticks (in the case of Vader, you need to recalibrate the entire sticks and triggers, but the center position of the sticks will also be calibrated). Use it wisely and then the dead zones can be further reduced. It's just that if the sticks are not centered correctly and a dead zone is set, for the camera or cursor to move in different directions, unequal physical movement of the stick itself will be required, this is not great.

    • @Tuuvas
      @Tuuvas  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Nice, thanks for the tip! I can confirm the deadzone is even tighter now after calibrating my thumbsticks and triggers by holding Start+Select+Dpad-Up to start calibration.

      I've been owner of a Flydigi Apex 2 for over a year. Somewhat higher tier gamepad and not exactly the same but still oddly cheap, but I can now confidently say the price is just ok for what it is.
      Overall build quality is nice looking and all but very (I mean really) fragile to collision. Also been working fine for a year-or-so, then it started having weird conectivity problems just to PC and Console devices. No longer working tried BT, 2.4, wired... Only working on Android mode.
      Everything comes at a price

    You know what, I actually ended up re-buying a second Vader 3 Pro and giving it another chance and guess what? Now I love it. Turns out I *did* receive a bad early build, because all of my complaints about "rattling buttons" are completely gone now. Of course I still dislike that my early buy didn't turn out well, but whatever, shit happens. Now I'm using this new Vader 3 Pro and I am loving it. Zero rattling, and an excellent controller.

    • @Tuuvas
      @Tuuvas  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Agreed! Hopefully it won't be too difficult for the reWASD devs to add

    • @caleasthetic
      @caleasthetic ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tuuvas it will be. i just spoke to someone on the rewasd team. they stated that they still dont have the full techical specs of the flydigi vader 3 or vader 3 pro. flydigi needs to work with them to get it supported. I just hope flydigi or rewasd will work togher soon to get it supported by rewasd. i now use a dualsense edge and can map the back buttons on steam or rewasd. this only work when you have enabled the default profile on the edge. The vader 3 and the pro have actually clicky triggers and face buttons. and it has 4 back button instead of 2 paddles. it would be better if i can map the 4 back button to anything other then copies of existing buttons.

    • @viden7629
      @viden7629 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@caleastheticwell, in flydigi app you can map all gamepad buttons to mouse/keymoard buttons (but you need do keep app in tray)

    • @caleasthetic
      @caleasthetic ปีที่แล้ว

      @@viden7629Yes i know, but you will be limited to either d or x input (i dont know the exact difference). You caneven remap the buttons to unique keyboard keys (inputs that are not avaiable anywhere else on the controller)with the app on this input mode and i can use the gyro, i know.
      But theire is no flick stick option.
      But what i am looking for is full support from a input remapper called rewasd. Rewasd should be able to use the ios mode so i can use gyro and i can remap the buttons plus i can put the right stick on flick stick. atleast that is how other gamepads from flydigi can be remaped on rewasd.
      with theire flydigi spacestation you dont get flick stick. and the customosation for the gyro is not as good as you get on rewasd.
      For the switch mode you are limited to copying already existing inputs to the back buttons. With rewasd and the flydigi spacestation) you can bind uniuqe inputs to the back butons.
      So right now, because of the lack of rewasd support i use the switch mode and just create a back button profile on the pc app in the switch mode. This works the same as any other gamepad that has programable buttons. you can only copy already existing inputs.
      With rewasd i normally use the face buttons for weapon slots and i tend to bind the face button actions to the back buttons. so i can switch to 8 weapons on physical buttons (no weapon wheel needed). and i can jump, crouch slide and interact with the keys on the back.

      Just a heads up - the Amazon link contains the Vader 3, but it shows the "non-Pro" version by default even though I specifically chose the "Pro" version before generating the link. If you do buy the controller, make sure it's the Pro version if you want Hall Effect thumbsticks. Otherwise, the non-Pro version is the same but without Hall Effect thumbsticks and without impulse triggers for individual trigger rumble.
      As for layouts specifically for the Vader 3 Pro? Nahhh lol, it's far too much work to account for so many different types of devices. Maybe I'll do a "this is my favorite config" video and showcase the Vader 3 Pro again, but that's probably as far as I'll go.

    • @ChrisSteamable

    Except for keyboard keybinds, as you mentioned.

    • @Tuuvas

      Yeah I literally just saw the pictures of the king kong 3 literally right before seeing your comment lol. It looks great, and initial paper specs are promising. I'm definitely curious.
      As for the dpad, it's clicky and tactile; however it's possible to press all 4 directions at once due to lack of a center pivot point. This is not ideal for things like fighting games as you'll find yourself accidentally pressing inputs you didn't mean to. That said, it's not a deal breaker. Just something to consider.

    Hi, thanks for the review and I'm finding myself wondering what the build quality of the flydigi is compared to standard mainstream controllers? I did watch another video and it said that the nonpro is made of three fairly cheap feeling plastics of differing levels of quality and wondering if you share a similar sentiment?

    • @Tuuvas
      @Tuuvas  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yup yup, I saw that in Gamer Heaven's review. He's got WAY more experience with a number of different controllers, so I would respect his opinion way more than my own.
      That said, regarding mainstream controllers like Xbox Series S|X or PlayStation DualSense controllers? I personally do not find that they feel cheap. Based on that, I'd say the Flydigi Vader 3 Pro is on par with the Xbox Series S|X controller feel-wise. Then it exceeds Xbox when you realize there's also microswitch buttons, hall effect thumbsticks, and extra rebindable buttons.

    Hi tuvaas, do i need necessarily the steam edition of dcs to have "clickable" buttons in the cockpit? I noticed i have also other problems, i set up my gamepad like you and verified multiple times, for example i can't shoot the cannons with the left bump neither if it's correctly selected, i have to switch to ground attack mode and then fire it with the right bumper, can't understand why! Love your videos

    • @Tuuvas
      @Tuuvas  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "Clickable" buttons in the cockpit is only available in "High Fidelity" modules like the F/A-18C, Ka-50, AV-8B, AH-64D, etc. But aircraft like the Su-25T or any found in the Flaming Cliffs 3 pack are "Low Fidelity", meaning no clickable buttons in the cockpit. It doesn't matter if you're using Steam Edition or not for this. It's all about the specific aircraft you're using.
      As for your cannon issue, that's exactly how the Su-25T is designed to work. You cannot use the cannon unless you're in a combat mode (ex. Air-to-Ground mode) and select the cannon.

      I'd say it's a good enough gyro for those, yes. And it does have analog triggers, allowing for precise braking and acceleration.

      If you're going to be using your controller A LOT, then I'd say pickup the Vader 3 Pro simply due to the hall effect thumbsticks. You'll never have to worry about stick drift.
      But if you don't think you'll use the controller that frequently, then DualSense should last you a long while despite using potentiometer thumbsticks. Plus its adaptive triggers are actually pretty nice for games that support them.

      Hi so true, it has the better layout (I wonder if the touch of the DualSense is useful for PC gaming?) the Xbox is the spiritual successor of the Dremcast , Microsoft provide the CE OS for Dreamcast (the Dreamcast controller is the first ever controller to have Hall Effect, 26 years ago! They made it most like specifically for the first ever open-world Shenmue, making Shenmue's character Ryo the first ever character to be controlled with Hall Effefct: :-)) The Dreamcast's controller carried over to the Xbox's DNA (offset dual analog stick and YXAB button layout). Vader 3 Pro then perhaps used. I'm having a hardtime choosing the DualSense coz' it's hard to know which are genuine online (I don't mind the clones the the fakes, the counterfeit, copying the Sony logo is draining), at least Vader 3 Pro has no fake coz' it's already from the source- Shenhzen.

    At least say clearly that you are paid. No one is happy about a thank you card in Chinese...except you are Chinese. For deliveries outside of China it should be at least in English. That's why Chinese companies usually install those "small business companies" in countries for Amazon.
    The stick feathers are said to be weak. What means the sticks will get some quick stick drift.
    The configuration tool...it's amazing. You can really put nearly everything on the controller. Keyboard keys, mouse keys. amazing. As you seem to play flight games I think you can understand that. (or was that even ArmA...game is a pain in the ass with its controls)
    The controller has a on the fly switch profiles. But...my tool looks different. I only have 4 profiles to chose from while you seem to have a profile for every game. strange that they changed that?
    At least for me, you have to go to "Function settings" and activate "Quick switch configuration". Then you can switch through your 4 profiles with Select+ A, B, X or Y.
    Kind of cool especially for games like ArmA. As you can switch between your driving and flying setting.
    Having game related profiles would be really cool. But that controller is already much better than everything else on the market. Except maybe the xbox pro controller 2. But that also sometimes comes with faulty sticks. (I got such one and it's way too expensive to get garbage)
    You are completely wrong with the price. 80 bucks is the same price the core version of the Xbox pro 2 will cost you. When buying the loading station and a travel case for the Vader you are at the same price as with the Xbox 2 pro controller that has all included. So it's not less expensive. It's as expensive as every other high quality controller on the market. Well...high quality is strange to say as all brands have huge problems with sending out faulty products. When looking at more critical tests that also take the controller apart and test it for some time they all complain about the sticks. The feathers are too weak and that's what causes stick drift...hall effect my ass is all I can say to that.
    Anyways. If it holds until the battery is fucked it holds long enough. Usually that's why Hall Effect sticks are a scam from the get go.
    Before I had a Logitech F310 Controller. It held for 19 years. All I had to do to fight stick drift was cleaning the contacts from the sticks. Opening it up, getting all the dirt out. Dust, hairs and stuff. And then it worked. After over 19 years cleaning didn't really worked anymore. So when you ask me, the entire Stick Drift nonsense is exaggerated to advertise Hall Effect sticks. Now tell me. Will any controller with inbuild batteries hold for that time?
    If it holds for 5 years I count myself lucky.

    • @Tuuvas
      @Tuuvas  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "At least say clearly that you are paid." I was not. Nor was this controller sent to me by Flydigi. This review contains only my own thoughts and opinions on this device that I purchased with my own money and received no money for. Any differences you see between this 11 month old video and what you see today are likely thanks to updates from Flydigi on the software side.
      Nearly a year later, I still have the same 5% deadzone I have always used on this controller. Do the recentering springs feel weaker? Honestly, it's hard to say without a brand new Vader 3 Pro to compare it to, but this controller continues to be my favorite controller to use to this day. It will likely only be replaced by the Vader 4 Pro.
      I'm not sure what you mean by "You are completely wrong with the price. 80 bucks is the same price the core version of the Xbox pro 2 will cost you." Are you referring to something that isn't the standard Xbox Series/Core controller? Because that's what I'm comparing this controller to. It's just the normal white xbox core controller that comes with a series X/S console... can you please clarify here?
