I got to say you know your way around Koehler motors. I have two lawnmowers one with the courage motor and the other with a Chinese knock off. Love messing with them after spending most of my life automotive repairs the moved up to job working on Cat equipment. But back is jacked up so moved to small motors. Keep up the good job. Say by the looks of things Koehler is a big part of your repair work.

Thanks for the encouragement - and yeah, Kohlers are very common around here. I also have an automotive background and did some work in industrial hydraulics and fabrication. If it's got an engine (or electric motor), gears and wheels, I enjoy working on it.

Excellent as always. thanks I am curious when you eliminated the fuel shutoff. How did you
plug where the shutoff goes into the carb so you don't have an opening there? I considered just
gluing the plunger in the closed position . Ken

Hey Ken! So all I did was snip the plunger pin with some side cuts. Then ground it flush with the top of the solenoid just to make sure. Cleaned out with brake clean and compressed air. Super easy.

One of the things to be mindful of is (on the Commands) that if you do eliminate the fuel shutoff functionality, you will need to make sure to let the engine/muffler cool down and then throttle up before shutting the engine off. If not, you will get backfiring issues as the raw fuel gets dumped into the hot exhaust.

Bottom end of this engine is no different than any other...do you have oil pressure? Hoping it's not rod knock you're hearing.
